    I was never the best of thyroid examiners. So, of course, the patient assigned to me for the final practical exam. in internal medicine was a deaf woman with a small, solitary nodule in the left lobe of her thyroid gland. Luckily (yes, "luckily" is the appropriate word) I found it!

    I went for an exam & the doctor decided to examine my thyroid. She told me to take off my T-shirt and tilt my head back and raise my chest to the ceiling by arching my back (exactly like the Fish Pose in yoga). Then she quickly JAMMED her pointer & middle fingers into that space between my clavical and she kept pressing deeper & harder & i told her she was hurting me & she jammed in even harder. After she did that, I had severe pain in that area. I could barely swallow for 6 months!!! and it gave me laryngitis for a year!!!
    I had so much trouble swallowing& talking now, that I had to get Physical Therapy for it because of the non-stop pressure on my throat, and I kept swallowing air and getting painful hiccups that sounded like a wild beast rather than a human hiccup.
    It was one of the worst things that ever happened to me in my life!!
    It has been 6 YEARS since she did that to me and I STILL have the same horrible symptoms; and I cannot even wear a light chain or necklace, a turtle neck sweater, or even a scarf around my neck, without it disrupting my ability to swallow, causing pressure pain, and causing these beastly Hiccups that terrify anyone i'm around.
    ??Have you ever heard of an exam like this?? WHAT did she do to me??
    I believe she severely violated me.
    Shouldn't this have healed after 6 years???!!! WHAT did she do to my healthy thyroid, trachea, esophagus, and my total throat area mechanics?
    I am still beyond devastated and the worst part is that there was absolutely NOTHING wrong with my thyroid to even merit this so-called exam!
    Thank you so much for explaining this.
    Please advise me.

    I have a small firm/hard not very movable lump the size of an uncooked rice on the left side near the middle/tip of the thyroid cartilage slightly lower than the actual Adam’s apple (where it points out the most). Nothing on my right side....also a swollen thyroid especially the left thyroid? Anything to worry about?

    • @torrez8144
      @torrez8144 ปีที่แล้ว

    can thyroid cancer comes with out giving any big sign of the neck?
    please answer I am scared

    • @RusiruEkanayaka
      @RusiruEkanayaka 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are many different types of thyroid cancer but they are all similar in that they would all be unlikely to present without a neck mass - whether this is a thyroid nodule or enlarged lymph nodes. Other symptoms may include difficulty breathing and/or swallowing, hoarseness of the voice, and occasionally cough. In any case, it is best to see a doctor if you are worried, they will be able to physically examine you and conduct any investigations necessary to address your concerns.

    I've had sweaty palms ever since elementary, or... as young as I could remember. I am 22 now. This means I've had hyperthyroid FOR OVER 15+ YEARS! Oh yeah I also have many symptoms of it.. haha

    • @Kingwil497
      @Kingwil497 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I also had sweaty palms nonstop during my primary schoolyears/Elementary School. It got worse when I entered highschool to the extent where my legs started to sweat while in school. It's not as bad as it was but I sweat really badly at times.

    • @totamohamed6736
      @totamohamed6736 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on what specific blood tests were taken
      Did you take a thyroid function test? And did you go to a doctor so as to take a proper history and examination?
