Belated Happy Birthday, Mark. Sorry to hear about your health. Wishing you good health soon and that meds will start working for you. So awesome to watch your trains and showed us a lot more details of your layout actually than usual. Get well soon, my friend. God bless. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Hi Dru, thank you for the birthday wishes but I am very quickly coming around to the idea that birthdays just don't happen from now on, they come around to quickly. As for getting well, unfortunately that is never going to happen. I am alive only thanks to the chemo drug I take, regardless of which one. Essential Thrombocythemia can not be cured ! I have to manage my problem by using chemotherapy drugs, be it one or a combination. It is not a common problem either. Now I hadn't intended showing more of the detail on the layout, I wash just following trains. But I will try to remember to do a layout tour showing the detail with the trains as the background. I will need to be able to do more than I can at present first. Hopefully a new drug to try towards the end of October and then let's see what happens. Thanks for watching and for your support
Hello Mark, nice update, blanking plate glued in! That's a new one. It amazes me what some people manage to do to their models 😮 All the best on the health front. John
Hi John yes the blanking plate was glued in and when I did manage to remove it it came with the 6 pin plug attached, hence the new board and wiring loom. It's come to a good home now ! Lol. I now get the honour of people sending me locos to repair. So far I have yet to fail, but it will happen soon. The parts supply will be the problem and more so with Dapol. The next "interesting" loco I get in I will have to share. John's Schools Class from Exehaven was "interesting" lol I finally got buffers for the 68's today so one job less to do ! Thanks for watching
Hi Grandpa, I to hope I can get the drug I need soon, but as I think I said, it's a manufacturing problem and as to when I can get is "how long is a bit of string?" Glad you enjoyed the update, it was hard for me to do, and thanks for the birthday wishes 👍
Many happy returns 😊. Great to see an extended running session. Hopefully the new pills will come sooner rather than later. Better hope those pesky daleks don't invade the nudist colony😅. That 70 does look at home as do the two HST'S. Dapol need to retool the HST if I'm honest. Take care and speak soon.
Hi Euan, the XC HDT is a beautiful runner and the coupling all work unlike the older ones. The new medication I believe is a self inject one which I am not looking forward to but it will be done. I have never seen a nude Dalek before, have you ? The 70 was A Pain when I got it, having been in store for so long. Getting rid of the old solid grease worded wonders along with getting the pickups on the bogies correct, then all was well. Just need a few more Lafarge tankers.
Happy Birthday Mark, very interesting update. I'm sure you will get through these health challenges and they will find a suitable drug. Keep your chin up and all the best.
Hi Chris, Can we have our summer back please ? As for the update, I probably went on a bit to long, but it's easily done. This sitting at home doing nothing seems to make new locos and rolling stock appear as if by magic. Paul Sheedy for one keeps me laughing because you never know what he will do next. My spirit is usually high, it's the drug, Hydroxycarbamide, that just makes me feel bad. I have just about come to terms with the fact my working life might be at an end, but with the West Somerset Railway on the doorstep their will be plenty to do if that happens. I am just not ready in my my mind to stop working but I am getting there. Thanks for watching
Happy Birthday! I hope you get better soon. I have never had heard of anyone having a good experience talking with folks at YT. Thanks for sharing. Dave
Hi Dave, It wasn't a good experience talking with TH-cam, they certainly have no common sense and gave the impression that the computer had told them what to do ! As for getting well, that's impossible unfortunately. I will have Essential Thrombocythemia for the rest of my life and will have to take a chemo drug to keep my platelets under control, if possible. That's life ! Thanks for watching
Very enjoyable update, Mark. I'm sorry to hear about your health problems, which I can relate to as I'm suffering from meds and heart problems. My difference is that I'm already retired. Really enjoy watching the trains pass by. Stay safe.
@@mikeuk1954 Hello Mike, glad you enjoyed the update although I hadn't realised, until I was watching it before putting it out how my speech has altered. Drugs when they cause problems really do change you. As for being retired, it's not something I want, but unless a drug that works with me is found I think that could be on the cards. Hope you get sorted with your medication soon too. We are all so used to getting medicine that works without any problems that it really is a surprise when you get one that does cause serious problems. We all take medicine for granted and we shouldn't
@@ADMIRALSCORNER Hi Mike, having the railway is really good but using it at the moment is hard work. Plus standing up for a long time is not possible, hence why I was sat down for a chunk of the video. I need to replace that servo point motor as well but that will just have to wait for now. Hope you and the Stig are keeping fit and well. Pam had Best get her fill of Sausage rolls while she can. See you around.
Hi Mark, Another busted servo - I'll be watching mine closely! When I calibrated it I got it moving only just far enough to overcome the spring in the point, so hopefully it's not constantly pushing against the rail trying to reach a final position, which would seem likely to burn it out eventually. So far it's a lot more successful than the servo it replaced 😁 Your HSTs look good, and well done on finding a Dynamic Lines one eventually - I had to watch and bid on eBay for quite a while to get mine. So sorry to hear about the blood cancer and medication woes, I pray you'll get the new medications sooner rather than later, and that it'll be compatible and effective for you.
Hi Jonathan, I blame you for my servo breaking ! To be fair since I put the Peco system in I have replaced certain ones two or three times and others are original. On my system I have to reset them on replacement and maybe I just got a bad batch. I don't mind the sound of the old point motors clicking across as I then know they have actually moved, and not one of those has failed so far. I have a few servos in stock, but when they are gone it will be replaced with the Gaugemaster decoders and point motors. I was really pleased to get the Dynamic Lines HST as they are like Rocking Horse shit I even have a 6th coach ! Both have given me something to do recently. Just have to replace the motors in Dapol 121 and a 156 which followed Dapol's form of going up in white smoke ! As for the Blood Cancer, I have to live with it and do the best I can with whatever drug works the best. I am not ready to give up work yet, I enjoy what I do, but if that's what is required I will just have to get used to it. I am lucky in that I live very near to the West Somerset Railway, so I can maybe do something there to pass the time. Thanks for watching
@@PiddleInTheMarshbyMarkIreland lol, I take no responsibility for your servos, but you might be pleased to know I don't intend to replace any of the other solenoids on Endoor 😉 - they've all worked all the time, in terms of switching the track. I like the sound of the solenoids too - it seems closer to clattering signal box levers and mechanisms than the whirring of a servo. Being near the WSR sounds great - that seems like it would be a good backup option for something to fill the days if necessary! Take care.
Happy birthday mark sorry the health issues are getting in the way of things hope things improve soon enjoyed your video and appreciate the effort that goes into making it as for the 66 s well they may grow on you maybe 🤔 you need a another one to keep it company 😂 have just acquired a class 70 in colas livery 😮 all the best al and the 66 fan club 😂😂😂😂👋🤗🤗👍🚂
Hi Al, the one thing I can promise you is that if another 66 comes to Piddle in the Marsh, the current one with have left ! The class 59 I have 3 of, but there will be no more of those either. Now the 68 is a different matter and I am hoping for an 88 to come out soon. Thanks for the Birthday wishes but t the time has come to not have one now it takes a fire extinguisher to put the candles out ! Hope you are ok and we will catch up soon
