That was me complimenting the overhead view of your layout in a previous video. This is fantastic, very inspiring. One thing your layout does beautifully is that it doesn't feel like a layout. It feels very natural, as if it evolved out of a real countryside and shrunk down in your room. Many layouts feel just that, like a layout. It's hard to put into words, so I hope you understand what I mean. I think part of the magic is you seem to have a story for everything and truly enjoy telling it through model railroading. It's all these little details, like the oar in the water at the nudist camp that make it all feel alive. There's quite a bit of humor in it all. You also have a lot of variety in the scenery that flows together very naturally. There are no abrupt changes between location types, and it all just "makes sense" further grounding it. That sliding drawer of track is genius. I have never seen a layout done with this sort of set up (I am just getting into the hobby) and if I ever do a large layout, I am copying it. Thanks so much for this video, it really helps inspire us beginners giving context to the hobby. You really do have a wonderful layout and the love you have for it really shows. Cheers!

Hello St Stephen, in training for haunting on Christmas Eve I hope ! There are so many little bits on the layout now, because I keep adding more, I have forgotten most and keep finding them. Emma keeps putting Dr Who enemies around the layout as well, supplied by Paul Sheedy to wind me up. Hence the Dalek and Cyberman in the playground ! Thanks for watching.

Hi Euan, you were obviously to busy in your counting house, scraping the coins together to pay for the deposit on that new car ! You would have been in there for days, maybe a week ! I can not stand those two buffoons so I disappear when they appear. As for gravestones, I laid them out like a local church has, and they are usually in order. Just not quite as in order as at St Elders Church Elvenhome. So pleased I built that fiddle yard because it has made life so much easier to change eras. Thanks for watching.

Hi, oh I know I am not alone in disliking those two, but the positive side is I don't have to watch them. When the command, "Go to your train room", gets said it means A Peaceful hour or two and no nagging ! Yes I remember building the fiddle yard to. I had to remove the layout to construct the legs and frame and put it all back. Not a job I want to do again ! I am very happy with the result though. Thanks for watching.

The bit I think I like the best with the layout is the fiddle yard because after having my stroke, caused by Essential Thrombocythemia, taking stock on and off the layout became a pain. So being able to have everything out and available to run has been a game changer. Thanks for watching.

@StMaryChurchModelRailway I can never recover from Essential Thrombocythemia Stuart, it's untreatable. I am on chemotherapy for life, if I can get the drug I need ! Labour are Great !
@StMaryChurchModelRailway Thanks Stuart, but it's nobody's fault, it just happens to a very small number of people. It's like a switch breaking, but I can't buy a replacement for love more money. Hopefully the medication will become available soon but I am looking hope of ever driving a truck again.

You would not believe the argument I had trying to explain to an American that we eat meat and two veg in England and Pussy is a ladies name.
