there's way too many fantastic country artist from the past for you to say "she's going in history one of the greatest country artist ever" she's a talent to be sure but your statement a bit far fetched but time will tell I guess
She reminds me of a female version of a Justin Townes Earle type of character. Battles with drug use, criminally underrated musician, that will probably never get the recognition deserved
@@charlesrubio7650 That’s because you confuse popular with musicianship The best vocal musicians of the 40’s- 1980’s were rare. Nearly nonexistent today. Sierra Ferrel has always had ‘that’ glam costuming persona like, say, Alice Cooper, but she has vocal ability and lyrical integrity that is - again- nearly absent from popular music of any genre these days. She is among the greats, and now she’s starting to get popular in the ‘country’ genre. You couldn’t be more wrong.
@@terryjohnson1632because when you actually are emotionally invested in a song you are expressing your real self; and when you actually believe what you are singing AND are emotionally involved you are communicating. And when the lyric exemplifies what other people feel; or imbues the listener with empathy, sympathy, or understanding; and the singer isn’t merely performing but is communicating and is believable and the musicality supports the lyrical significance there is an emotional, intellectual, and neurological connection- a shared experience- that transforms the performance into a collective agreement with the audience. THAT is what Elvis, Patsy Cline, Evanescence, Carrie Underwood, Mark Knopfler, Merle Haggard, Nanci Griffith, David Draiman, Jackson Browne, and others had that most popular musicians or performers don’t- the ability to communicate and connect in a mutual experience. That’s also what makes Sierra Ferrel stand out from among the current bands and solo artists: she has something they do not that cannot be taught. But as a culture we accept and laud the popular and ‘successful’ while neglecting other important qualities that we can see in JS Bach, Mozart- even Billy Joel: superior musicianship and intrinsic connecting with an audience. That is way more entertaining than format-crafted “hit” makers that can’t just come on stage and make it work outside a studio.
I remember meeting Sierra at the Blue Ridge Music Center amphitheater. Shes about 5 ft nothing and a voice bigger than the mountains we drove through. Very nice as well and as humble as they come. A true artist.
Sierra has seen the darkness but she brings us so much light through her voice. I think it’s only possible to achieve this by reaching the darkness so you know how to truly appreciate the light. I’m so glad she found her way out.
And not forget that this song and similar recording came from the Greatest Band in Music History. John Paul George and Ringo. On top of Apple Studios. Doing what the greatest band ever did many times.
@@bradava1I'm curious about this as well. I've seen her live once supported by different members than the ones here. It seems like, after watching a lot of her videos on youtube, she has different band members in almost every video. I'm assuming they're just session musicians but I hope she can recruit these guys to just be her permanent backing band! They're killer.
@@bradava1She had this group when I saw her in March of 2023. The chemistry was phenomenal. The fact that they're still here in this video from a few months ago is a good sign. Enjoy the show! :)
TH-cam is my main source for discovering new music. I usually have to hear a piece 2 or 3 times before it clicks with me. I fall in love with every SF song immediately.
This song and Sierra's version of Seven Spanish Angels are a master course in how to cover other artist's songs and make them your own ....To me this ranks right up their with Johnny Cash's cover of Hurt
There is plenty of true talent that exists on stages with far more fanfare than this. It's not on them for putting on a show you didn't appreciate, it's on you for not being able to recognize talent across genres.
Do you know about Charlie Crockett and or Nick shoulders? Lost dog Street band if you like this you should check them out also Zack Bryan used to be cool
HOT DAMN!!! Fantastic pipes!!! Great band, not just musicianship, but also excellent harmony! I thoroughly enjoyed this! Thank you, and good luck with your career!!!!!!
Thanks posting this fantastic video. I seen Sierra and band 3 times, each time they keep getting better and better. Just incredible live performer and talent.
God blessed us with here !!!! Just an amazing feeling that hits you when she sings wow !!!!! Holy macaroni!!!!! Thanks for sharing your amazing God givin talent with the world !!!!!
I always knew sierra would make it big. We met in 2008 about when obama was elected and we would play n sing on hot summer nights in charleston. I miss wv. I wonder if she does too

Sierra is gonna go down in history as one of the greatest country artists ever. So glad I saw her live in a small venue before she 'explodes'.
EXACTLY!!!

It really pisses me off when people like Beyonce get number one album when much better musicians like Sierra Ferrell never see the light of day.

Nope. Never.
I think this might be the best showcase of her vocal ability that I’ve heard. Powerful!
This and “I think I’ll just go away”
Man I’m so here to second this. I’m weeping.
I agree. I’m not sure what it is about her beautiful singing that touches me, but it does. Absolutely stunning!!

Why do I cry so much hearing her!?
Yes, I know! Tears of joy!
It means the music is working.
Music is magick and she is a wizard
I see her live this week and I'm a little nervous I'm gonna cry most of the time lol!
Her voice is so beautiful and her music reminds me of Nanny, Everytime.❤
Let's not ignore this great band . The bridge is awesome.
I’ve been trying to find out if she always tours with them. I’m seeing her in April at the Pageant and hoping that’s the case.

The Beatles recorded this song on the day I was born
And therefore you won't ever let us down, my friend, even if you do.
“Incredible Sierra Ferrell vocal” is almost an understatement!👏🏼🤩
Lennon's spirit captured and rendered perfectly in the Appalachian tradition. Bravo.

Also Years by John Anderson. She always brings her own sound and pure joy to it.
Wow......Loved what they did with this. She has a set of pipes!!!!

Looking forward to seeing her for the first time live, in April.
She’s incredible.
This wonderful! Well done!

Why am i crying? Is it the lyric or the sound of the voice or the music?? This song never made me cry before....gorgeous 😍
Same reason I am- it’s just beautiful
Incredible. Stunning. Beautiful.
She could sing anything and I would feel it. Not a big fan of covers but this truly outshined the original. You are amazing Sierra!
