@@TheFounderUtopia saw him twice, but was really lucky to catch one of his practice gigs to test out new material. It only cost a fiver and was in a 30 seater small comedy club so we were only a meter away from him. Was amazing value ticket
The show was produced by British Channel 4, but Dylan Moran (Bernard) is an Irish comedian. Grahama Linehan, who not only wrote Father Ted (Irish, but again produced by BBC) wrote the first series of Black Books with Moran. They are both Irish. It's only a British show in how it was produced/where it was shown.
@travelbug1019 hah yeah i checked it out and it was definitely him and yeah i'm really irritated that he's not doing more IT Crowd but heck he gave us a great show with many memorable scenes and lines and characters. But ONE more season wouldn't go amiss lol
Yes that totally ruined the clip for me as well. I came here for customer service comedy and I get casual beard comedy!? What has this world come to when a man can't watch purely customer service related comedy without being interrupted by some other clip from the same show!
Yes, but since the owner of the bookstore is Irish (both character and actor), and he's the one attending the shop the customer service is Irish. Which is the title of the video. Which says nothing about the show being Irish.
"That's hardly fair"
"it's not fair at all" best reply ever.
"it's dreadful, but it's quite short" ...a synopsis of life~
I love how genuinely and actively hostile Bernard is towards work.
The best part is if you watch his standup you realise it's not even a character, that's just his actual personality. XD

"Black Books" - Best series ever - Dylan, Bill and Tamsin were a match made in heaven, and please god, MORE !
When I saw this first back in 2000, I said to myself "I'm not crazy. I'm NOT alone. There ARE people who UNDERSTAND!!!"
Well if this doesn't reflect my work ethic perfectly I don't know what does.
"Are they leather-bound pounds?"
Lmao.
"Enjoy. It's dreadful but it's quite short". :D
"Right, shop is closed, everybody get out..."
Fuck me, I wish I could do that at work.
Have you tried though?
Someone recommended the series to me, said it reminded them of when I managed a bookstore. They weren't wrong. :)
Love the Graham Linehan cameo at 3:15
I channel my inner Bernard whenever I go to work
This is literally how I am at work and it's baffling that I've never been fired.

graham linehan is the mamba burger customer
3:12 That scene had me almost piss myself. Linehan, you bloody bastard XDD
"Well, expect away...."
Garth Ennis opens a bookshop.
Sweep them out with the broom
3:15 co creator of Father Ted.
Guy asks for diet coke, Bernard starts getting a regular pepsi.
After working in retail for 14 months this isn’t far off what I’ve become
Tell me about it. I detest people
lol that last bit i want to use
@travelbug1019 hah yeah i checked it out and it was definitely him and yeah i'm really irritated that he's not doing more IT Crowd but heck he gave us a great show with many memorable scenes and lines and characters. But ONE more season wouldn't go amiss lol

I was just wondering the same thing!
I love black books

Dylan moran is perfect
Nice bits! :)
2:45 But hey.. Manny isn't a customer. ^^
But I realize you included it for the funny line.
@theQuestion626 Yep.
As a barber I try to act like this as often as possible.
I hate my job.
My husband just made the same mistake lol
Don't we all...
1:00 - when James Corden comes to your place of work
Correct - that was 50% of 'Little Britain'
OMG, sig sauer, that was the gun used by that bodyguard in the artemis fowl books and holy SHIT MY CHILDHOOD IS RUSHING BACK ALL OF A SUDDEN
The guy ordering a burger, is he one of the singers from The High Kings?
It is Graham Linehan, co creator of the show :)
He was actually co-creator of Black Books too
@ourtheharry Up with this i will not put!
2:32 Instead of selling books in a book store, pays a man £40 to take them away.
him asking if he should wash his beard had absolutely nothing to do with customer service....
Yes that totally ruined the clip for me as well. I came here for customer service comedy and I get casual beard comedy!? What has this world come to when a man can't watch purely customer service related comedy without being interrupted by some other clip from the same show!
It's a sign of the end times.
Man Utds transfer department
Was the last bloke David Walliams??
RunawayKiwi yes
sorry about that I didn't know what I was thinking!
1:29 Is that Penhale's predecessor? (I forgot his name, so sue me)
Anyone spot graham linehan ? the mamba burger customer?? (also responsible for father ted)
*leatherbound pounds :)
when Bernard is working at the fast food joint, is Graham Linehan (the IT Crowd) the customer?
theQuestion626 Yes, that is Graham. Good pick up.
My favourite british comedy soap...long live Dylan Moran
2 dislikes = no sense of humor. :p
there's no 5:09 :P
Retail therapy if you've ever had to work that shit show
@theQuestion626 I'm 99% sure, he's quite distinctive. So disappointed he decided not to do a 5th season of IT, though I understand his reasoning.
travelbug1019 is there a fourth season?!
I'm getting tired of people saying that the video skips a seccond
Your Hearing is impaired! It's "Leather bound pounds" not 1100
Yes, but since the owner of the bookstore is Irish (both character and actor), and he's the one attending the shop the customer service is Irish.
Which is the title of the video.

The show isn't Irish...
it would be so much better without background laugh
yeah I find it very irritating
still better than having a sign that says 'laugh'
its a live audience
It's a British show written by 2 Irish writers. So?
"I'll give you 200 pounds for it!"
"1100 pounds."
"What?"
"To go with my wallet!"
Hahahahahaha
Lmao he says leather bound pounds not 1100 pounds
Own a business
And the Irish wonder why their economy took a massive shit?
