As a bookseller, we all secretly wish we could be Bernard Black sometimes.
Love all my favourite quotes here, especially the "Why do they come to me?"
My mum literally nearly bought a shitty bookshop cos she wanted to be Dylan so bad haha
A very special show for very special people.
The three leads operate the clockwork of my brain, Inside Out-style. They are separate but equal aspects of my personality.
4:11 my favorite part about this bit is that good, well-aged wine is usually expensive.
Therefore, they're both right lol
They're both gooder
Expensive wine tests same as cheap. It is confirmed in blind tests by many studies. Expensive wine is a scam.
'What do they WANT from me'
'Well they wanna buy books'
'Yeah but why ME why do they come to ME'
'Cuz you sell books'
'Yeah I know but jesus..'
I love the show as I do a lot of British comedies and escape to the country and coronation Street I am from America but my grandfather was from England he moved here at the church child so it’s kind of fun to see how he might’ve left
Lived
FINALLY BLACK BOOKS THANKS CHANNEL 4
Love it that Peter Serafinowicz kept the Duane Benzie voice around.
"Tim, hi."
@@TheAcridCorpse You shot me in the bollocks Tim.
One of my favorite British comedies
Tamsin Greig is just lovely.
I worked in retail during my gap year and this is only too relatable: 0:51
I'm not a laugher, more of a smiler when I'm watching the telly, but there was a laugh-out-loud moment in every episode of BB.
I never even smiled, I cringed at how lousy it was
@@sophiafakevirus-ro8cc Well, yes, but you'e American, I presume. Your sitcoms involve every single thing every single character says being a "gag" or a "one-liner". Our comedies are more like real-life, where people just say funny things, which are not the same as "jokes".
@@jimdaw65 bit racist
That might have hurt if I was American
I remember watching this as a kid on the plane was funny. As i got older it's funnier. Live the comedian Dylan Moran 😍🤣
As you get older it gets funnier, until a certain age... when it's not funny anymore, but you find yourself in it :D
Effortlessly funny.
Never watched black books but noticed a lot of people from Shaun of the Dead and I think I saw the French IT support guy from IT Crowd.
This series is a millions times better than IT
@@Smirriado love both shows immensely for their dry British wit but I personally prefer black books as well
You can watch it here on TH-cam
Yep. The it support guy is kevin eldon. He also played the stupid officer in shaun of the dead.
@@bingtunder683 if I had to chose between the too I'd pick father Ted
1:05 I just noticed that book was sitting on a lamp shade. Bernard's shop is just the trashiest place ever. xD
Well done black books cast and writers, fantastic, linehan and the rest of the team are Great
I remember watching season 1 episode 4 when Fran was still turning away in the ambulance. When she hurt her neck I felt really bad for her 😭😭😭
Sailor Phoebe SAMEEEE
I cried when that happened she was my favorite character 😭😭😭
Nick Frost with the lil man in his hair and the I ate your bees comment are my all time favorites
How is the skinhead scene not in this??
Which one of you bitches wants to dance?
@@Tinseltopia Millwall! Millwall! You're all really dreadful and all your girlfriends are unfulfilled and alienated
I like to think that the reason there are no clips from the first episode is because it would have to be put in all, as is
Is the fellow who serves popcorn the same fellow who serves at Mamba's?
Freakin brilliant 😂
Just a minute just a minute just a minute MISS
So many Faces.!!!
It's some sort of delicious biscuit!
#5:56 young Nick Frost!
Natural funny English/Irish humour he’s great and not bad on the eye too a very handsome young man who plays being pissed almost as good as Hugh Laurie! More please guys thank you for your hard making these sketches and making our miserable little lives a little bit more enjoyable thank you and God Bless 💞😘✝️💕
Is that Nick Frost? as the door tech?
"WARNING!!! This video contains strong language and adult humour"? The first thing I thought was "where do I sign up???" 😄
Needed the part where they’re under the table in the restaurant
i deserve a bookshop and good wine
Am I crazy or is that Bill Nighy at the very beginning, on the right sitting at the bar?
Yep it’s him
😂
Better than Father Ted in lots of ways
The other writer of the show is the customer at 0:40.
Who is it, I don't recognise him as one of the writers?
@@bennylloyd-willner9667 well he is, its Graham Linehan
@@BigOlBarry that's not Graham?
@@BigOlBarry I'm not sure why my last reply keep disappearing, maybe URLs aren't allowed. Anyway, the guy at 0:40 is Stewart Wright, not Graham. Graham makes an appearance in the series tho, just not in that scene.
Oh, Tamsin confuses the hell out of me alright.
3:57 :d
I've never heard of this show but I recognize both of the main characters. One from Shaun of the Dead and the other from stand-up. You don't forget a hairline like that.
Edit: Well shit, the whole cast of Shaun of the Dead is showing up, where's Simon Pegg?
He shows up in season 3 as a foil to Dylan Moran, with a rival bookshop
I'm the cleaner! Dirty!
The laugh track jesus
Interesting, I attended the filming of 4 episodes across 2 series and know it was real but it is also somehow that is some magic.
Every episode was filmed on front of an audience.
@@wyterabitt2149 shows often take audio samples from live audiences and use them for the episode, if there weren't many loud laughs they'll go back and use previous episodes.
❤🤘💯😜🥴🍻🥃🚬⚰️
My gf still references this show daily
Sure the kid is black and I'm in crippling credit card debt but I still think I chose well
Your gf is black or u or just the kid?
@@timewalker6654 just the kid which I thought was really weird but my black friend assured me it happens all the time
It's a shame Linehan is such a nob these days. He should be writing great comedies like this instead.
I hate the background laughter ffs
