I grew up around perfectionists who picked apart every little mistake others made to the point where they quit cooking or baking or sewing. Perfectionists do not make good teachers. Thanks for being so supportive and understanding. You are a great teacher.
Hmm. If we say "*Most* perfectionists don't make good teachers." then I agree =) I've had horrible experiences, but I've also had really good ones. If the person knows to NOT nitpick everything and NOT demand perfection from a beginner - then they can be teachers, and sometimes really good ones. But it also depends on what the "student" is after/how they learn. Some people like constructive criticism, some like to only hear what they did well, some like to just be told the brutal truth - and every degree in between. Perfectionists can be supportive and calming - and non-perfectionists can be horrible teachers ;)
@@shadowheartart3898 I don't think anyone wants to be told "the brutal truth" unless you're already very good at something or you are a perfectionist as well. So I'd say perfectionists can make good teachers but usually they're not at all. Honestly perfectionists are not usually even good people to have around you a lot, because they can be really toxic.

I disagree that using a box mix will make it more likely to fail; they are literally designed by food scientists to be easy for people who aren’t bakers and to come out the same every time. Most baking fails I see online are due to a procedure issue or forgetting/ not doing something. Commonly; frosting a cake when it’s still hot which makes the frosting melt off, not using no stick spray or baking powder, not using proper supports, or sometimes just not having the skill set yet to do complex piping of decorations. And other times they are just environmental, like last summer I tried to make no bake cookies and I live in the south of the US they never properly set because of humidity.
When I was in high school, some friends and I made a failed chocolate bundt cake. Our “fix” was to cut some marshmallows for teeth and add eyes to make it a true monster. 😂

I'd be happy to take some of your cake fails off your hands Ann!
Are you patreon of ann?
@@shravan1005 Probably, yes
@@Chrono_topher Your name got me so confused more confused then seeibg these comments lmao
Me too 😂🤤🍰
If you lived next door then you could have had rescues. These all went to neighbours because we were in lockdown.
Anne subtly roasting amateur bakers: "It is so hard to get a fail" hahaha
I’ve been watching Ann’s videos since I was about 11 or 12 and now I’m turning 20 this year :) time is cool.
I’m getting your cookbook through my door today! I am very excited to have the opportunity to cook these amazing recipes 😊😊
📘awesome 😀
I may rebuy a hard copy. I bought the kindle version because I was moving and had no idea where I would be when it came out.
YES! These cake rescue video's are my favourites, but they also make me really hungry 🥲
Same.
Lol same!
IKRRR
So much dedication-ruining cakes for us! 💗
I rescued a cake with my nieces recently, had a lot of fun doing it and was so grateful to Ann!
These are really incredible, and her wonderful slogan encouraging us to be kind to others just makes my heart smile!
I have watched so many cooking shows and seen so many heartbreaking, cake ruining moments, and watching you salvage them in ways I’ve never even seen before… just crazy
I love how that bundt cake turned out perfect 😂 Ann can't fail even when she tries!
Yay I love cake rescue! I’m about to make a cake in an hour!
@JoshBee09 I hope it goes well!
Thanks - I’m just making a vanilla sponge so it won’t be too hard. I really hope I can ice it well because I’m not that good at piping onto cakes.
Update: It went really well and it is delicious!
@@joshbee09 Good for you!
My son loves the beach and I feel like this might be the perfect cake for his first birthday party lol I'm more an amateur baker so I'm not sure how it'll work out but it looks so easy... But Anne makes everything look so easy!
that last one looks like an upgrade too, since now you also have a delicious yogurt mousse to go with the cake!
My girlfriend is an Entomology Officer in the military and I eventually want to make an insect-themed multi-tiered wedding cake for her and the tips for transportation are something I honestly never would have thought about... Your videos are so helpful!
if possible, transport it in separate layers, and assemble and decorate at the venue.
You're so good at what you do that your kitchen equipment fails to rebel against you, so it turns out perfect even when you don't want it to be 😂❤️
I just took a break from studying and you posted! Love the coincedence!! your videos make my day ❤️❤️
awesome, make sure you get back to studying after your break 😀
@@HowToCookThat haha yes!
It’s 4:30 in the morning, should be sleeping but totally worth it for a new episode! 🤣 I feel like mine would be destined to look like the fail regardless.
Same lol

Sweet dreams NoLa, I hope you can sleep in
Don't worry, you can do it. Start simple and practice practice practice. You will fail a few times along the way but you will learn, get creative and improve along the way ^^
"It's just cake, it's gonna be okay" is so wholesome :D
I hope to be even 10% as sincere, hardworking and dedicated as Ann Reardon is ❤️
