Never really cared for Haslab. It always felt so grossly insulting, like was does such a large corporation need to crowdfund playsets when not only they just used to sell these, but other companies still do it? (and I know why designers explain why, they're given small budgets, but it's not them that makes Hasbro so evil, it's the higher ups that do nothing but layoff talented and passionate individuals so they can give themselves a bigger bonus). With Haslab, not only do they feel overpriced, but the limited release and artificial scarcity add to the FOMO overpriced manipulative evil that is Haslab.

Technically they aren’t crowdfunding. They’re made to order, and require enough orders to make a profit, but they aren’t confident in them getting the necessary sales at retail.
From a business perspective it makes sense. And the customer gets the closest Hasbro will ever get to making Masterpiece figures.

Thinking about the possibility of Gigatron being a Haslab, there's a few ideas that immediately come to my mind. This is purely speculation based on past figures and the trends in the recent Haslabs that you brought to my attention:
The figure's height would be difficult to determine since the "source bible" for the series just describes character traits instead of measurements. I also couldn't use the TFWiki page because no sources were cited for the entries (it said Optimus's Super Mode is 6.5 meters while Gigatron himself is at 7 meters). Instead, I used Skybyte standing next to Devil Gigatron during the reformatting scene of the Decepticons where he stood at waist height. We already have a leaked Voyager Class Skybyte due out in July, so I used another voyager like Vector Prime for an approximation. The head-to-head scale in one the mentioned shot puts Devil Gigatron at ~10in figure scale, which means he'd be about as tall as Legacy Armada Optimus Prime in his super mode. This also makes him slightly shorter than Haslab Optimus's Super Mode (not Omega) unless the designers want to adjust his height.
In terms of figure improvements over the original I own, there's a few very likely things. Proper ankle joints as well as firm ratchets in the hips are a given (can't have it fall over like the original). A hip swivel is questionable since he'd need to arch his back for the claw mode. Arms are mostly the same, though I can't imagine an occasion where he'd need poseable fingers to hold something. The head can get a new joint to look up/down. The most improvements will be on the back. The wings can get ratchets at the base of the joint to maintain their angle better than the original, a new ratchet in the middle of the wing joint, as well as a way to "peg" in the extending wing flaps so that they can stay fixed. I'd also be interested to see a locking assembly for the dragon head+neck so that it isn't loose anymore. For the other modes, everything else is mostly unchanged aside from locking mechanisms that make the conversions feel solid and not fall apart (car mode, boat mode, etc). The twin swords would lose the firing mechanism but gain blast effect compatibility at the hilt and along the blades.
For paint, they'll follow similar cues from Optimus and not use chrome on contact surfaces. If possible, I'd also not want translucent red pieces for the claws and the sword. (I will get to Devil Gigatron down below). Just assume the standard paint scheme is his black armor.
For tier unlocks, I'm not optimistic. He WOULD need a stand so that he can fly in his various modes, as well as support for his standing robot mode. For a higher tier, he might include large-scale fire blast effects for his dragon modes to use. He might also include an Autobot protoform pod so that you can recreate him "stealing" it and reprogramming it into another figure. **I don't think the three Predacon goons are likely** because Transmetal 2 designs haven't been touched aside from Megatron and Tigerhawk. They'd also demand their own sprues/paint to raise the price. Something more likely are the Autobot spy changers at Micromaster scale (whether they use new tooling or repaint existing ones are up in the air). One last idea is a red car shell you can put over his car mode to recreate the scene where he catfishes Sideburn.
Based on the trends you showed me in the video, a "base" package would just include Gigatron in his normal colors while a "deluxe" package includes two figures (One for Gigatron, the other for Devil Gigatron). Knowing how greedy Hasbro is, they'd likely throw tiers on top of the purchase so there's no guarantee to getting everything offered. It's a nonzero chance that he becomes a Haslab since the reuse potential doesn't have anything striking come to mind and that his size would demand a commander pricepoint. Outside of Megatron/Galvatron, I don't see either the BW Megatron nor Deathsaurus repaints being likely.
We'll have to wait and see what next year's haslab will bring, my money is on it being something related to the Primes since the new line is about to start.

I agree that RiD Galvatron doesn't need a HasLab UNLESS you want him to be roughly the same size as Omega Prime. He isn't normally that big, but he was in the finale after being pumped up on Fortress Maximus juice. However, given that you can repaint him into RiD Megatron, Deathsaurus and Beast Wars Megatron, I don't want him locked behind a HasLab either.

I'm pretty sure the reason for the for the base version vs the deluxe version is so that if the deluxe version (which would be the "regular" version) is too pricey, there is a (slighty) less expensive version you can get instead and still get the HasLab funded.

I just thought about this right now but if we are getting gigatron as a haslab the deluxe model will probably be a galvatron inclusion. Either that or with the new price adjustment of titan class figures we may get a mainline release and then a selects release. Edit: while this may sound good at first for a deluxe model this could potentially evolve into something where you only get 1 out of the 2 figures needed for a set and you will have to pay extra.

It still feels wrong that Hasbro is in the crowdfunding game.
Ive backed quite a few Kickstarters for boardgames in the past and this "new" trend they are experimenting with you are talking about is very common. A publisher will offer a base product, and a deluxe package. In gaming it might be one version has cool miniatures and what not to enhance the experience while the other just has standees or something. The projects will still have tier unlocks, typically little expansions or maybe component upgrades that everyone can enjoy.
Hasbro is simply copying this method, as it increases the appeal and the fomo thus encouraging more people to back.
The feel of an event vs what this actually is. A preorder.
And thats where i get sketchy on my feelings for this because a small publisher doing this on Kickstarter makes sense, they literally can't make the product without crowdfunding. But Hasbro ... Can. They just don't see a need because well. We along with the other fandoms have proven we will buy this stuff for whatever reason.
Ive backed 3 now, because they are characters i want and this is the only way to get them. It sucks but its whats going on.
I will say Unicron did seem to make sense as a haslab.
    Victory saber... Did not
Deathsaurus ... Did not BUT he certainly felt like a premium product that was worth it.
Omega prime ... Well to quote wheelie. "have no doubt we'll soon find out."

@@TTMMH42 i agree with Star Saber and Deathsaurus. It really felt like those could've been retail, especially Star Saber. The "Haslab" portions of characters like Victory Saber and Omega Prime are the combination guys. I would bet if Star Saber/Fire Convoy was a commander, we wouldn't have seen Victory Leo/God Magnus at retail. I'm happy we're getting the full package and the TF ones at least FEEL like they're worthwhile but if they're expecting people to fork over 300 for a Gigatron thats just BIGGER when he's less than 60 online...its gonna be a tough sell

Rancor, Extended times, patches, short 100 to tier screw jobs, odd number fudging. Hasbro doesn't have to be held to any rules like kickstarter and gofund me, which is really scummy. Tully totally should have been a 14k tier. Hasbro screwed over tens of thousands of prior haslab backers. Does Hasbro really need 3 million to fund a project... they can fund it themselves and they can do made to order, they can beat the mold and make the 4 or 5 variant models and make 10x the money. Hasbro doesn't need 3 million. I cancelled 3 Giantman because it took me almost 30 days through calling and multiple emails to get them to tell me we would NEVER get the skrull face plate. I honestly would like to have seen if the Ecto 1 would fail if they couldn't get Tully. Haslab should not be doing early birds, they should do made to order. They make 200 to 400 dollar retail helmets, props and masterpieces. Haslab is just scummy especially when we are mostly getting retail product, or at most exclusive made to order product. Hasbro has guaranteed done at least 1 or 2 scummy things with every lab.
