    Also to note - no S-Pen support for the A8!

    i have the Tab S4 and bought it when it first came out. Ive really enjoyed this tablet for the past 6 years, however it was starting to lag a bit and bought an S6 lite to replace it. after using it, ive realized the s4 is still way better than the s6 lite. i just need to wipe out the 4 , i think it could be laggy because it was full

    I have been watching some of yours Tab S4 reviews and I must say, I am loving them, you are a great story teller and make great arguments. I am a collector of "old tech that still works well (at a bargain)" and really love contents like this. Keep up the good work!

      I really love feedback like this, it helps to know that I'm on the right track
      Much appreciated!

      i'm the same. No need to pay extortionate amounts when older flagships are still great

    I recently bought a Tab S2 for 58€ and i think it's still better than the A8, it has a really good display, it's thin and light and the performance is still ok for watching videos and web browsing

    I bought Samsung tab s4 on April 2024 used. And I can confirm that it is still worth it! Its not slow at all (only issue is sometimes when I would write a comment on youtube it would be unresponsive for a few seconds, other than that its still pretty responsive)
    All apps are working with the latest versions even though its only at Android 10
    Got mine for $115 usd btw

      @@seanvideoediting And have you replaced the battery? How many hours does it last during use?

    I just bought a tab s4 off ebay for £219.99 . Brand new , sealed box .
    I only use a tablet for youtube ,surfing the net and viewing photos .
    I am Watching this on a tab s10.5 which has served me well since 2014 .

      I even got it for 150 brand new (149,99 in fact) and quite frankly my requirements were pretty straightforward; good battery, quad speakers and superb display. That's literally it. Watching movies and series is a banger on this thing. Seriously is this thing even beatable as a media device all things considered? By the way, pro tip: adaptivedisplay on screen mode, white balance on very warm and under advanced settings set the green option to zero by swiping it to the very left. Looks the most vibrant to me without that iffy tint.

    This is why i like going for "outdated or old" flagship stuff rather than new. Is there a chance of flashing a ROM on the S4? If that is a possibility then it was jusy blow the A8 out of the water

    • @FilthyCasualTech
      @FilthyCasualTech  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Because it's supports Project Treble, you can technically build your own - but I don't tend to see anyone doing it due to a number of issues.
      I believe you would lose a lot of features like s-pen support too
      I had really hoped to see custom ROMs though too, but sadly not this time

    What about the battery? I have tab A8 and i consider to trade with tab S4. Is it a big deal?

    • @FilthyCasualTech
      @FilthyCasualTech  ปีที่แล้ว

      Pretty much the same battery and charging
      Exception being since the S4 is older it may have worse battery health at this stage, but mine is going okay

    is there version (or alternative) of FlamingoOS for Oneplus 7 pro?

    • @FilthyCasualTech
      @FilthyCasualTech  ปีที่แล้ว

      FlamingoOS has been discontinued
      Currently keeping an eye on YAAP and Derpfest which may have A14 releases at some stage

    I'm pretty sure the A8 2022 is set to get Android 14 in February...

      @FilthyCasualTech  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yep, you're right!
      Info I had previously was it would only get 2 OS updates, but info I can see now does look like a Feb update is happening

    Honestly i had the Tab S4 when it launched, after that i got the S6, S7+ as well, things happend amd now i dont have any.
    I saw all your videos about the s4 (the one i can find good deals) but still not convinced to buy it again just for the OS version...
    Since any of the Tab A is an option for me, would you recommend me to get the Tab S4?? Mainly im going to use it to read book, some draw (have the s pen pro), casual gaming (most emulation games) and multimedia (Netflix, etc) or get the Tab S5e instead, i just want a second device to not use my phone to read and other stuff.

    • @FilthyCasualTech
      @FilthyCasualTech  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The S5e isn't too bad, ending with Android 11, but it does have worse internals and no s-pen support compared to the S4
      The S6 Lite (2022 edition) may be an okay option if you're looking for a cheaper device with software support though
