Jon is.. Jon. He’s the GOAT. But Gane is on a very high level of striking (higher than any of Jon’s previous opponents), a lot of the casuals still don’t know it yet, but he can’t be overlooked in this matchup. Although I do most likely think Jon will get him down *eventually* and finish it there.

Everyone needs to realise Gane has never lost in Muay Thai, 13-0 and in MMA he is 11-1. Which is strong. Has not been finished yet. He is one of most efficient strikers and has lot of power being a heavy weight. If Jon stops Gane, I mean he will be scariest and unbeatable human being in MMA IMO, he can kick the ass of any fighter in MMA across any weight class. He will be the scariest and baddest guy

I know. He keeps sh*tt*ng on Gane, but Khabib, GSP, and Jones have all said that Gane is currently the best MMA fighter in the heavyweight division. That says a lot coming from those three.

@Suhail Shaikh he lost to the champion and beat all the other fighters. Francis was the champ for a reason, no shame in losing to the guy who obviously is better than the competition. Other than that, he has absolutely dominated the other heavyweights, including some other extremely powerful hitters like Tai and Lewis. Gane is no slouch and lost to Francis by 1 round
I came here just to hear something as I was filling my timesheet at work. Its honestly such a gift that uncle Chael has. I heard him scream for 7 minutes 16 seconds not understand a word he said and at the end when he started laughing I started laughing and shook my head as if I understood.
Even if Jon retired after the Reyes fight, people would already be willing to call him the greatest ever when you look at his overall body of work. A HW belt would only be additional icing on the cake.
Jones isn't the greatest because of the confirmed steroid usage, Jones failed more USADA tests than Khabib lost rounds.

No I don’t think he wins easily… actually I think this is going to be a very tough fight for Jon but I do think Jon finds a way to win… now if Jon didn’t go away and was still fighting then I don’t think it’s that close of a fight Jon would be Jon and win but since he’s been gone so long and since he’s never fought at this heavy of a weight and it’s not like Jon was ever a fast guy so now he’s heavier and gane is fast and moves around quickly like a middleweight so I think that is what will give Jon problems

@@Jesse_Saucedo Fedor is a fair name to throw in there. He beat killers and went undefeated for a long time in a weight class that doesn't see long winning streaks.
My argument against him being the goat would be all his opponents were either post prime like Tim Silvia, Andre Arlovski, Kevin Randleman or they didn't do well against ufc competition like Cro cop and Wanderlei.
Personally I'd say GSP should be #1. Won the belt at two different weight classes, never failed a drug test, went on a long winning streak, defeated killers and won in very dominant fashion.

@KlariK420 I had trouble focusing on both of cyrils hands in that last sequence of the tai tuivasa fight. Especially the straight right that he threw that started the beginning of the end. The camera caught a blur.

It is very obvious Dana is not promoting the fight. He did the same thing with Francis vs Gane. Under promoting the fight means the Ppv numbers will tank. It takes any leverage from fighters and punish those who are not loyal to Dana. He could have easily pay Francis and have him and Jones coach the ultimate fighter but he gave that opportunity to Connor who is loyal. Dana is a problem for fighters and Chael supports him.

Here's the thing. If JJ manages to get the title and defend it 4 or more times... 100% he is the GOAT... of MMA, at the least. I still consider Anderson Silva #1 and GSP #2 of the modern era MMA (Silva at #1 because he fought really good fights at light-heavyweight).
Of combat sports? Duran or Holyfield might take that cake - also fought and were champions in multiple weight divisions.
But... if JJ takes that heavyweight strap and does what he did at light-heavyweight... he might just deserve the overall GOAT title. Of course, he would also have to avoid self-destruction or going to jail... always probabilities with Jones.

Yup totally agree and then afterwards he'll go on to defend the belt against stipe and the only other fight he might do is if they get Francis back. Why risk fighting some lesser names when you don't have much to gain by winning and all to lose if they somehow beat you.
The only real advantage I see Cyril having is his footwork but other than that I think Jon wins everywhere and I think he does it comfortably
