Jon Jones is easily one of the greatest talents we have ever seen in the sport of mixed martial arts. He made mistakes in his personal life like anyone would if rushed into riches and stardom at such a young age. Regardless of how his heavyweight title run goes, he will always be known as one of the greatest in the world. He tore through a who's who of competition like they were nothing and often fought down at their level to beat them at their own game. Some athletes are just special. Some people are. The same thing that goes with Jon, goes with Khabib. They were just made for MMA.
With Jon, it's very interesting tho. It's like he has this aura that protects him from losing and looking all that vulnerable inside the cage.
First, he comes in as a 20yo boy and dominates before coming into the UFC, showcasing a knack for striking, even tho he did it for couple months only. Fights with a vast array of creative strikes that look real solid and technical, crazy for someone that inexperienced. Then, the big leagues come. He ragdolls an already established, famous fighter in Bonnar, then dominates two prospects in Bader, Hamill, devours an experienced, tough, solid vet in Matyushenko. Beats up Shogun for the title, makes that man CRY, then does Rampage dirty, who does that to most people, Lyoto, Rashad fights... That young and pushing around established legends. Okay, he was the new gen, more athletic, bigger than them mostly. But either way, those were instincts and skills, nothing else. The Vitor fight really showed that he has a supernatural gift, it's decided by the universe that he wouldn't lose. Got caught in that armbar and not only that, but Vitor was hanging from his arm, while Jon's hand slipped and it was only that extended arm for 2 seconds, holding Vitor yanking on it. The fact that that arm didn't dislocate, break or tendons didn't tore - it's just being blessed and Jon knows it.
Gustaffson yet another close one, beats Chael and Glover in their own game (that Glover fight was most likely the best and most complete he's ever looked. Basically flawless and even got to play some showmanship with Foreman's crab guard).
And then DC 2, destruction, Dom Reyes YET AGAIN somehow pulling thru against a new gen (a third gen fighter for him, that he had beaten), who gave him a lot of problems.
    Finally, Ciryl Gane toying.
He was made for cage fighting and that's it. The best ever, as much as I like GSP and Might Mouse. They are close, but not it. Khabib is the only one who's even more dominant and could've surpassed it, but we'll never know now. Osss

He is like kratos. We knew he was a monster, unstoppable. Now comes back older but still a beast.

I am a hardcore Khabib and Islam fan. But Jon Jones. Sheesh, he is just amazing. I would have to admit, he is the GOAT.
