If I may point out, Derick and Griffin are professional session and performance artist, deep in the LA music scene, and they've worked with the best, in all facets..., and ... well ... you're probably right.
The impressive part of "no rehearsal" was that the band did a great job of keeping up with her; after all she mastered these songs years ago already! Whiskey a Go Go is a good spot for exposure, I hope this video goes public quickly and bigger gigs open up soon!

So excited to see this! Doesn't every 13-year-old girl spend a school night rocking out at Whiskey A Go Go? Those drums took an absolute thrashing tonight - what a powerful performance. I hope YOYOKA becomes a regular there! As we have all observed, YOYOKA can fit in with any band any time. Another no-rehearsal gig!

Very well done, The two gentlemen accompanying her are from a very good band called "Classless act" guitar and vocals are Derek Day, bass and backup vox is Griffin Tucker. Griffin usually plays rhythm and lead guitar in classless act, and Derek is the lead singer.
Thank you for the 'Intel'. I'm pleased and delighted Derek Day has continued to support Yoyoka in such a constructive way. She can't do this alone.

They were a bit fast on Burn, but she didn't try to slow them. Go with the flow is important. I would occasionally mess with the tempo when playing with my friend's band, but only in otherwise empty room. Good fun.

YOYOKA!!!! Wow!!! I have not seen all of your videos but, of those that I have seen this is my favorite. You had an excellent group of musicians on stage with you and everyone kicked butt. The end result was great. Outstanding performance by all and I think there were no weak links in the group. These people complimented your talent and really each other beautifully. So cool. Yoyoka, she lives up to her reputation as a battery wrecker, what a powerful performance. She can play with any band regardless of style. She is starting to be a regular at Whiskey a gogo.
Literally think I've been watching her since she was eight or nine.
Simply stunning young lady who always amazes me and I learn from after 40+ years of playing. I'll never reach her level, but damn is she inspiring!

I am 69 years old and English, I saw Cream live, I saw Deep Purple many times, I saw John Bonham live - even before he played with Zeppelin, and I saw Keith Moon play with the Who in the early days.
I don’t think that any of these legendary drummers would have been better than you at 15 years old.
You just need to find the right band, Yoyo - and the road ahead looks brilliant.

Vibrant exciting performance! This gave the Hammer a chance to stretch out and run with it. To paraphrase Uptown Funk she showed up and showed out. Wicked good!!

The fact that she can go in with little or no rehearsal and that she can nail parts in one take when in the studio makes her a future "go-to" drummer for many top producers and artists. Need to get your session done as efficiently as possible, with as few takes as possible? Yoyoka. Your drummer dropped out at the last minute (or exploded) just before a major live gig? Someone find out if Yoyoka is available!

Exactly! 100% agree. A decade of session work, and supporting live tours would give her experience playing with hundreds of different musicians. She's such a good human, she'd make many faithful friends.

@@gbulmer That is so important. She's already got a reputation as a kind and decent person, besides her incredible skills. She's met a lot of top names, and when they add up her great personality with her skill sets they will be knocking down her door.
I had a friend who went to work in the US as a professional bass player in Las Vegas. He told me that being easy to work with, and showing up both sober and on time, will get you more gigs than you can imagine, which rather surprised me. Yoyoka has all of that, so she's all set.

I've worked in many bars, and seen many cover bands in those bars. None of them have ever done Burn that well.
This Whiskey gig she's got going on is fantastic exposure for her. Sure the publicity is great but playing with different musicians every time and without rehearsal is one hell of a learning experience for her.

Pretty much self taught until a year ago when she was introduced to jazz. Has been gigging though in the family band since she wad 4. She has posted vid on this channel of her at the kit in a bar at 5 years old. She was clearly well competent and no stranger to the role.

Live music is such great fun, and these are good songs. Wouldn't be so good without a great rhythm section. Fantastic to see Yoyoka nail them. A master at work.
