She is humble, plus she does not like attention. That bit in front of her as introduction was probably way out of her comfort zone but as a professional musician she has learned how to overcome.
TH-cam is jam packed with young ladies playing drums which I can certainly appreciate, but to see it advance from playing along to tracks to actual band performance is to me what it means to be a musician. Yoyoka is awesome!
Great cover. This is the song that I discovered Yoyoka at 8 years old pounding away at complex John Bonham drumming. Check out the video where they showed her playing this song to Robert Plant. He was pretty amazed at the young talent of Yoyoka.
Yaaaaayyy Yoyoka! She is so modest & sweet! But don't let her demure exterior fool you. Beneath that gentle surface is a dragon of creative power and energy able to resurrect the Era of Enjoyment with her flawless performance of Led Zepplin's 'Good Times Bad Times' More Yoyoka! I love her more! ❤
When you play this song at eight years old and I fell in love with it….. as a drummer, I knew how talented you were.. I look forward to you being a show on the stage…..🌏🌍🌎❤️❤️❤️🫵🤲🙏❤️
I've noticed that she always begins and ends her local gigs in the L.A. area very early on weeknights which are school nights for her. I had planned to see her at 2 recent club gigs that began at 7 PM, but unfortunately health matters kept me away. She's also shy about her deficiencies with English - the gap is steadily closing but she still struggles with English communication. She's also struggling with the cultural adjustments. It's a long way from Hokkaido, Japan to Insane Los Angeles by way of Oakland, CA which is where her family initially settled when they made the move to the USA. She lives a busy and regimented life -- and is releasing her first album next month (April, 2024). She is very well connected and respected in the L.A. music scene and her career will take off when she's ready to go.
The most honest, obvious, and sympathetic praisal of her qualities that has been said since she started playing in the USA. These two knew exactly what they would get, and they used it to a very pleasuresome rendition (with astonishingly transparent sound). Time and time again, it's still kind of hard to fathom how hard she can hit the drum, combine it with the precision: a recipe for awesomeness.
She’s amazing, effortlessly kicking through that big 26-inch bass drum, even as a well built adult It might not be easy to showcase in a live music venue PA, but it's truly impressive!
What I love about Yoyo is that she`s not starstruck - she is there for the music, the band, the audience and she`s having fun! Keep on rocking Yoyo- we all love it!
First saw that killer little girl when she did this song at 7 or 8 yrs old. Later saw a video of Page and or Plant amazed at her incredible skill at such an age. This is the first time seeing her in this type of environment. So good. ❤
What makes her performance even more amazing is that it was unrehearsed. To be able to just fall in with the guys like that and carve out those beats that held the song together clearly demonstrates Yoyoka's skill and adaptability, especially playing someone else's set on a moment's notice! What was also really cool was how with just a nod and a wink from the bassist they way she ended the song so tightly, the sign of a true pro.
It's so cool to do impromptu jams like this on stage. Yoyoka this sounds fantastic! The whole band is tight. You have just proven that if musicians practice their parts, and the drummer knows their part there is really no need to practice for hours as a band.
Pretty much every time I watch you play Yoyoka I cry. I am so happy for you and can only imagine how proud your family is of you. Peter St. John Clovis, CA
Another high level performance from Yoyoka, no surprise that she signed a new contract with Ludwig Drums. Phew more and more powerful, a lot of Bonzo in her. And very humble too. Yoyoka, you are so inspiring to me and I love it.
You gotta respect that while she lists herself as the drummer, she gives a shout-out to Mark Romans for use of his drums -- who, by the way, looks like he figures he's got the best seat in the house.
It reminds me of the Beatles or Led Zeppelin playing in front of those early up tight crowds or being Interviewed by press who didn't understand them...YOYOKA Is way bigger than this situation
agree. her cover of YYZ is impeccable in her feel! Alex and Geddy would probly feel different if humble blazing Yoyoka sat in for Neil than some 50 year old guy trying to be him
I love this. The first time I saw you on TH-cam you were playing this, and you were much younger. You sit down on someone else's drum kit and kick a$$.😊 AMAZING.
That was great Yoyoka. Nice to see you doing this live gig there. She i more famous then she thinks she is which is great. Your the best girl keep going onwards and upwards.😊😊
This the song I first heard Yoyoka perform on TH-cam sone 6 or 7 years ago, and it keeps getting better. I am surprised the audience never saw her before, but they probably were going to tractor pulls and looking for the best deals on livestock.
I hope she will some day cover some of the amazing drummers that Frank Zappa had like Terry Bozzio and Vinnie Colaiuta (both of whom worked with Jeff Beck too btw). I'll bet money she could nail The Black Page.
You have part of your hope fulfilled. She has covered Seven Days. There are two versions. One normal cover. My favorite is her performing Seven Days at a drum fantasy camp.
That's the thing though. YOYOKA was playing live with a band from 4. It's on her channel. All live performances. TH-cam covers came years later. She genuinely has this authority because she has earned it the hardest way.
Her count off was so commanding and self-assured. She could’ve stopped after those four clicks and it still would’ve been a great performance. It was like: Band: “Yoyoka do you think you can count us off?” Yoyoka: “Hold my beer”. “And by the way, that’s the tempo. Any questions?”
Led Zeppelin is a universal language and Yoyoka speaks it fluently.
Absolutely! The TH-cam clip of Robert Plant watching her is so sweet and wonderful. 😊👍
I love the humbleness of Yoyoka.
It's not she has to brag! She lets the drums do the talking!
We usually use the word 'humility'.
Class!
She is humble, plus she does not like attention. That bit in front of her as introduction was probably way out of her comfort zone but as a professional musician she has learned how to overcome.
Yoyoka is so sweet and shy until she steps behind the kit, she then turns into a seasoned professional with unbelievable skills.
Nailing it effortlessly right off the table. Massive talent.
YOYOKA you never cease to impress us! How fast you adapt to a different kit is amazing - cow bell no where near your normal spot.
She's a marvel, to be sure! BTW... you're other requested song is dropping within a few days :)
Absolutely!!
A drum reactor, Vanderhorst, on Peter Gabriel's steam at 9 years old commented about her ability to change
She does not even need a kick pedal tied down.
@@RockandRollRelic Looking forward to hearing your comments

And for it to be a "sudden guest appearance" is even more awesome. She certainly has a lot of confidence to just jump up there and slay it.
No one does substance and style like Yoyoka, a rare flower blooms in music's garden.

Zeppelin and Yoyoka go together so well!! Makes me so happy. 😃😃
Led Zeppelin, my favorite band and Yoyoka, my favorite drummer!
Right Foot Nirvana! Yoyoka is such an amazing drummer… I am a huge fan. Bravo! 🥁❤️👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
When you play this song at eight years old and I fell in love with it….. as a drummer, I knew how talented you were.. I look forward to you being a show on the stage…..🌏🌍🌎❤️❤️❤️🫵🤲🙏❤️
absolutely! playing Bonham at any age is hard and she made it look easy at 8.
John Bonham would be so proud.
yes she is a complete drummer❤
Great performance.
Don't be shy. At the end, don't run away, go to the front of the stage and greet the public. You deserve the recognition. 😉👍👍
Attention is not what she likes! She needs to learn how to just do 30 seconds for the fans. Same at Whiskey a Go Go, she slips out as fast as possible

I swear Bonzo is reborn as a young Japanese girl.

A great rock drummer, excellent performance, as usual.
she is so sweet and dainty and then she gets behind the drums and tears up planet Earth!
So cool that the regular drummer is taping her and enjoying the band. Well done, mate.
"...taping..."!!
@@vartonsfc3000 Hey. Leave us old folks alone😄
@@AclimadeI am pre-videotape, old enough to remember “filming”!
That may have been the best drum performance of that song I've heard thus far! You've perfected it Yoyoka, kudos to you!🥁🥁🥁
She’s amazing, effortlessly kicking through that big 26-inch bass drum, even as a well built adult It might not be easy to showcase in a live music venue PA, but it's truly impressive!

Bravo! YOYOKA, you are amazing...always over-delivering and never failing to impress. Bonzo would have been proud. Cheers!
Yoyoka coming up the true rock n roll way. Playing bars and getting out there. ROCK ON
What a great performance!
Kills me I’ve been playing for so long and struggle on this good for her!!!!!
She rocked it!!!! But that crowd needs to wake up! So little live music in most of the US and they were lucky to hear this live.
Very well played and great sound my friends!🎸
wow, she is perfect.Led Zeppelin is the way to learn
Yoyoka is great at playing any song, in any genre. Playing Zeppelin is even better!
That bass drum still blows my mind!
Nice one Yoyo x
chills, she is amazing and hard to not love her and her down to earth humbleness.
What a treat for those guys.
I love a 3-piece band that sounds good... sounds great, guys. Always good to see, Yoka.
I think you made a lot of people in the audience really happy with this bonus

Her technique and timing are superb!!
That was some great guitar work boys, and our little Yoyo was flawless as always.
Are you joking? Guitar was not even close.
This young lady is a genuine rock star!

Your are truly gifted and talented Yoyoka! Love following you. I wish you loads of success on your musical exploration and journey in life!
She is so beautiful and very talented..... number ONE IN MY BOOK ❤
Yoyoka! I think that Rush should ask her to fill Neil's seat. She's technically proficient but most importantly has the "feel'. No Ego either.
