If I got one of these for my retirement property, I'd sell tickets to the installation and have a watch party in the meadow! Very cool guys! Now I'm wondering how they install the true 2 story manufactured homes - the ones that install only on solid floors. I toured one and it was WAY too "shotgun" house - too narrow and dark. But it was straight up two stories tall. Like two legos stuck together. How does that get installed - crane too?
Yes, you'd still need a crane to affix these to a slab; they're built to a frame that then gets transported via trailer, up to 76' long on the interstate. Only a crane could easily move them to where they needed to be at delivery.
Beautiful home 🏡, and finished product. My two questions are why didn’t they place the foundation parallel to the street? And what happened to those windows 🪟 where the garage was built?
Hello. Beautiful! Mu home has a similar modular roof design with that upper “hinged to roll flat” roof section that makes up the top cap section. Should u drill holes in that cross support board so that air flows well to the ridge vent ?
I live in an established neighborhood just north of Detroit. I bought my house with assorts of grandiose plans of fixing up the fixer upper 32 y/o ago. The house is in very bad shape. Wiring, plumbing, roofing, everything needs replacement and or repairs. So, I was wondering. Can you have an existing house torn down and replace one of these on your existing foundation? The bids I received to rebuild are north of 200K via conventual builders. ( TBH that was two years ago when everything was super-hot!) The City I live in does accept modular homes, if it is considered an improvement. I am not looking to flip and fly. This is the house my wife and I will retire and die in. The property is free and clear of mortgage. It does have a two-car standalone garage that is in fair shape.
I got the smallest home on the lot from my modular dealer (1300 sq. Ft.) and doing literally everything, it came to about $190,000. That’s including excavating, my 9ft basement, well, septic, plumbing and electric. However, be ready to wait at least a year if not longer for your house to actually be ready. I ordered my modular last August and it’s just now getting put in, in like 2 weeks.
read this online: "manufactured homes in the USA must be specifically engineered to comply with the latest construction requirements for wind safety, snow load, and seismic activity."
Easy to do if you're not buying the nails. I expanded a room in a manufactured home once. Each 2x4 that I had to pull had at least 30 - 50 nails in it.
Too close? The place where I'm currently living I can probably spit out any of my windows and hit a neighbors house. And I can't spit that far! These lots look like they are probably half acre, at least.
Mobile homes have not been built since 1976. This is a manufactured home, manufactured in a factory to HUD's national standards. Once affixed to a basement like this one is, the safety & quality of a well-maintained manufactured home are comparable to a stick-built home. It's a world of difference from putting a manufactured home in a park, on its axles w/ skirting around it.
@@tamarab5751 Actually, it's simply a name change. My grandparent's 1993 manufactured double wide is on axles with skirting. Yes, today you can get them fully sheet rocked with raised roofs, tray/ coffered ceiling, walk in closets/pantries, laundry rooms etc.
must be nice......a plot of land like this, if it's located in the city would cost $700k- $1 million or more. all the rich people move to california, give above asking price and build 4 bedroom million dollar homes on it
That was crazy to watch. These builder are definitely expert at what they do.
I can’t wait to watch this in real time! My modular is coming the end of this month! I’m beyond excited!!!
How long did they say the building process on the land would be? Congrats btw!!
Did you go with Gensis?
@@trinawms3749 No, I went with Preferred Homes. They’re based out of Grand Rapids, MI.
How much do these costs installed?
How do you like it so far
I love the domer/attic in this model. It adds class and added living space.
I'm convinced that modular home construction in factory is Superior to on site builds.
It’s faster too and less wasted materials :)
Very nice basement Space and and attic.
Nice sized space. Thumbs up.
Stunningly beautiful these builders are totally amazing awesome 👏🏾 😎…
Needs more exterior and interior views of the finished product.
Alright I’m sold, I’ll take one 😅
I want to see the interior!

Super stunning and informative
I wanna sell my house and get one of this. I think ill get started sooner than later.
That’s exactly what I am doing next year selling my home and getting a modular home put on some land.
Anyone have any idea how much to build one. Prep work etc?

How many days did it take to manufacturer? How many days did that take for site installation?
What is the value of this home
No sound ??
Why does it look like 2 manufactured homes put together though 🤔
Are all of the homes in this Neighborhood / Subdivision Modular homes also? Just wondering... 8 )
They appear to be from just zooming in really close as the house sizes and shapes are very similar. I'd live in that neighborhood in a heartbeat.
This was awesome!!!
Safety belts?
Start on Monday move in by Saturday
on the website it says manufactured homes. financing also states manufactured. this is not modular.
Which Mfg is in California?
What size cranes is ideal for setting modules?
Do you build these for Celina, Tn 38551
How strong are these homes against tornadoes, Hurricanes etc ?
read this online: "manufactured homes in the USA must be specifically engineered to comply with the latest construction requirements for wind safety, snow load, and seismic activity."
It would've been nice to know exactly what their doing.🤷🏽♀️
Is this a 2 story home?
Hello and EMERGENCY PLEASE:
Can ANY licensed contractor set up a modular/manufactured home?

Wondering the same thing, would love to offer this in my area for people that have the land already

Same here. I want at least an acre of land.
Cool 😎
Wow!
Terrible crane operator. He should have used two spreader bars like someone with common sense.
Heavy, heavy modules! This is not DYI. You need the right tools, experience and patience or people get hurt.
This is not a modular, it's a mobile, buyer beware.
Incorrect.
Modulars come in sections not halves.
@@tonyamontgomery2733
Did you even watch the first :30 seconds? The house came in two halves, on axles.

The crain operator is a rookie. He should have used a spanner beam. Fail
