Tom talked too much. its like writing a sense that becomes a paragraph that become a entire page without a period. The long winded answers left him forgetting what the hell he was saying and what point he wanted to make and when that happens you can hear the unintended awkward pause and pivot into trying to get back to whatever point he was trying to make in the first place

26 year Bucs fan here(started watching when I was 8). Like many people, I spent a lot of years rooting against the Patriots because of them winning so much. It got old quick. By SB #5 I openly admitted Brady was the GOAT but I still wanted him to lose lol. I never in a million years thought one day he would play for my Bucs. It was one of the greatest pleasures of my life to watch him lead my team to a super bowl and I will always have a lot of love for him. His work ethic and leadership is out of this world. There will never be another TB12.
We use to tell non Pats fans is you hate us cuz you ain’t us. You won’t feel the same if Tom is on your team. I was one of the few fans that wanted Tom to move on to a better team that surrounds him with good weapons. The last year he played for us felt like it was a rebuilding year so I thought he deserved better. I’m glad he went to Tampa and got that ring.

I became a Brady fan 38:49 in 2006, I’m from Texas and Cowboys had messed up to the point I couldn’t watch anymore, turned the channel and Brady was on and a class act on the field and I felt him being such an honest and considerate player, he never gave the impression that he was cocky like everyone was saying, he seemed like an all around good guy! It wasn’t til after 2012 or 2014 that finally I had friends start watching the patriots game and some liking Brady as a player, but dang I went through alot for being a Pats fan early on…but I know I was watching a super star !!
Matthew Stafford recently said he was having issues trying to connect with this new generation of kids coming into the NFL. Tom never had that issue. It didn’t matter old old or young, or what background you came from, Tom could connect and get anyone to follow him into war. That is a huge reason why Tom is so great.

I remember Randy Moss when he is was in New England talking about Brady, Belichick and the Patriots. He commented about he now understood what real professional football was. He had never seen teammates work so hard.
I’m blown away by his enduring energy level throughout the entire video. His passion and delivery exemplifies the fact that he does everything to the best of his ability; that includes sitting across from Patrick answering questions.
It wasn’t Pat, Tom had a plan for this and I felt Pat tried to hurry him up. Tom kept coming back to his story and bringing it it back in to what Pat was asking. He is so good at making a point and staying out of the weeds. He will be so good at calling games and can’t wait till he starts on Fox.
You can tell Tom has been waiting so long to be able to open up like this and tell his story. Obviously, the killer instinct wouldn't allow him to as long as he was still in the game. He needed to maintain total composure, laser focus, and his competitive edge and not give his team or his opponents anything to go off of. Now that he has retired and is able to disclose all of these things openly, he completely lets loose. Of course he had Tom vs. Time and the Man in the Arena, but each of those focused more on his game and career rather than personal stuff. Super cool to see this side of Brady. 🐐

Brady has given me so much joy in my life and with my family as a patriots fan who grew up with him. Some of the best moments I can remember involve watching him. We are all so blessed, in New England, Tampa, Michigan, etc. If you don’t know, then you know dont know. But if you do, you understand how special he is beyond just stats and records.❤

Thanks Patrick for letting Tom speak and not interrupting him like so many other hosts. I’ve heard Tom many times before and he speaks from his heart, which is inspiring in itself. I’ve always loved his passion for his parents and thanking those who supported him thru his life. Make no mistake-he did all the hard work. I loved the ESPN “Brady 6” which discusses the 6 QBs that were drafted before him. I'm 19 yrs older than Tom and grew up in San Mateo (his home town) and we both went to the same high school (Serra), his parents still live 5 blocks from my parent’s home-so I’ve been following him since ’02 when he beat my Raiders in the Tuck Rule game. I’ve read Greg Harden’s book and Greg talks about what he saw in Tom at Michigan when Tom was struggling and was thinking about transferring to Cal--great insight to when Tom says "I just wanted to be the best I could be" this came from Greg coaching Tom during that time. Gotta love it! I recall a clip of a boy asking Tom who his hero was growing up and he said it was his dad with a twinkle in his eye. A relationship like that can’t be replicated. Great fathers are indispensable.
Man this was extremely motivating especially being a navy chief the same principles sill apply. I always compared the military to sports to help my jr. sailors and make it easier and more relatable and had good success and many sailors advance. The best feeling is to know your squad would go to war for you and want to work for you not because they have to. This is something that comes with time, humility, Paitence and respect
If I had one word to describe Tom, it's persistence. He could have left Michigan, and I'm sure he could have left New England after many mental beatings from Belechick, but he always put is head down and worked harder. He kept working at self improvement until he found what worked best. As a Patriots fan he gave me the best twenty years any sports fan could hope for.
My father passed years ago. Between PBD, Rogan, and Peterson.... they hit me hard. When I watch these men, I shed tears at times. Tom is truly one of the great role models out of the NFL. One thing you can say about Tom, he never bragged, he was always humble, and anytime people were praising him he would name his teammates names. There’s so many arrogant pro athletes, the way Tom acted on and off the field is pure class and a great role model for the youth. We need many more like him that’s not worried about showing the flashy clothes and jewelry during interviews.

This was such an amazing interview, i don't even like New England but there are very few people in this world i respect as much as Tom Brady, so many valuable life lessons to be learned by listening to him, not only is he the best QB that ever played the game in the history of the sport imo, he's one of most intelligent people i've ever seen, and so humble, he never let his success get to his head, he never thought he was better than anybody and just wanted to be the best he could be at what he does, i can't even begin to explain how much i respect this man, we are all very fortunate to live in a generation that got to watch him play, the man is an absolute living legend.

26 year Bucs fan here(started watching when I was 8). Like many people, I spent a lot of years rooting against the Patriots because of them winning so much. It got old quick. By SB #5 I openly admitted Brady was the GOAT but I still wanted him to lose lol.
I never in a million years thought one day he would play for my Bucs. It was one of the greatest pleasures of my life to watch him lead my team to a super bowl and I will always have a lot of love for him. His work ethic and leadership is out of this world. There will never be another TB12.

Matthew Stafford recently said he was having issues trying to connect with this new generation of kids coming into the NFL. Tom never had that issue. It didn’t matter old old or young, or what background you came from, Tom could connect and get anyone to follow him into war. That is a huge reason why Tom is so great.

It wasn’t Pat, Tom had a plan for this and I felt Pat tried to hurry him up. Tom kept coming back to his story and bringing it it back in to what Pat was asking. He is so good at making a point and staying out of the weeds. He will be so good at calling games and can’t wait till he starts on Fox.
You can tell Tom has been waiting so long to be able to open up like this and tell his story. Obviously, the killer instinct wouldn't allow him to as long as he was still in the game. He needed to maintain total composure, laser focus, and his competitive edge and not give his team or his opponents anything to go off of. Now that he has retired and is able to disclose all of these things openly, he completely lets loose. Of course he had Tom vs. Time and the Man in the Arena, but each of those focused more on his game and career rather than personal stuff. Super cool to see this side of Brady. 🐐

Thanks Patrick for letting Tom speak and not interrupting him like so many other hosts. I’ve heard Tom many times before and he speaks from his heart, which is inspiring in itself. I’ve always loved his passion for his parents and thanking those who supported him thru his life. Make no mistake-he did all the hard work. I loved the ESPN “Brady 6” which discusses the 6 QBs that were drafted before him. I'm 19 yrs older than Tom and grew up in San Mateo (his home town) and we both went to the same high school (Serra), his parents still live 5 blocks from my parent’s home-so I’ve been following him since ’02 when he beat my Raiders in the Tuck Rule game. I’ve read Greg Harden’s book and Greg talks about what he saw in Tom at Michigan when Tom was struggling and was thinking about transferring to Cal--great insight to when Tom says "I just wanted to be the best I could be" this came from Greg coaching Tom during that time.

I always compared the military to sports to help my jr. sailors and make it easier and more relatable and had good success and many sailors advance. The best feeling is to know your squad would go to war for you and want to work for you not because they have to. This is something that comes with time, humility, Paitence and respect

If I had one word to describe Tom, it's persistence. He could have left Michigan, and I'm sure he could have left New England after many mental beatings from Belechick, but he always put is head down and worked harder. This was such an amazing interview, i don't even like New England but there are very few people in this world i respect as much as Tom Brady, so many valuable life lessons to be learned by listening to him, not only is he the best QB that ever played the game in the history of the sport imo, he's one of most intelligent people i've ever seen, and so humble, he never let his success get to his head, he never thought he was better than anybody and just wanted to be the best he could be at what he does, i can't even begin to explain how much i respect this man, we are all very fortunate to live in a generation that got to watch him play, the man is an absolute living legend.
This interview was unreal. Pat really has this uncanny ability to allow the subject to tell a story uninterrupted and it was a great pleasure to watch and listen. As a Giants fan, watching my team get 2 out of Brady’s hands were some of the best moments in my sports fandom life. Nevertheless, I can still admit there will never be another TB12. Respect!

Tom has some awesome stuff to say. What an inspiration! Saw him play live in the Bay Area as a Bucc. Can't get cooler than Tom. Just amazing to see a 45 year old on the field. Definitely a highlight for me.

This was a must! Everyone in the world should listen to this. Words from one of the top two athletes in history....if not the greatest. I was was lucky enough at 44 years old to watch the GOAT play his whole career. It was an honor and a blessing!

Wow, usually when I hear Tom Brady speak, it seems like he doesn’t speak his mind. But now, he opens up and we get to learn about the wisdom that made him great. Consistent discipline, care, be the best YOU can be. Fantastic interview. I enjoyed every second of it.
An amazing interview. So many interviewers lack the self-confidence to let their guests have the spotlight... They feel they have to keep interjecting to show how much they know. Patrick's expertise is in letting his guests speak without interruption.
And Brady did a tremendous job.... I have never seen him so candid... His recollection s of people and events even back in high school is remarkable.

Tom Brady is my hero! I never watched football until he went to the Buccaneers and I always heard people HATING on him. After researching who he was and his achievements, I've realized that he is one of the most inspiring people on this planet!
