We Tested the Fastest 3D Printer on the Market! (1200mm/s Speed Test)

- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 24 มิ.ย. 2024
- In this video, we put the FLSUN S1 to the test, starting with a speed benchy printed in just 8 minutes. We explore how it performs with various kinds of PLA, both standard and high speed and its ability to handle different materials like ABS, ASA, and nylon.
Speed is its obvious characteristic but we’ll take a look at what else it can offer and compare it to its little brother the T1. Is this level of speed really worth it? And is this printer for you? Let’s find out!

IMPORTANT! The S1 and T1 actually use normal E3D V6 nozzles not volcano nozzles but any v6 nozzle should work. The S1 nozzle is bimetallic, made from brass with a hardened steel tip and the T1 is regular brass.
This is my first delta. (I have 10x Prusas / 5x Fusion3’s / 1 Bambi X1C / 1 FormLabs Form2 and An old Fablicator that is now 10yrs old)
Here’s my take…(I’m an engineer and print functional parts - not so much artsy stuff)
The S1 was purchased not only for speed, but integrated filament dryer / enclosed and print volume.
Is it loud - yes. (It lives in my garage shop with the other large format printers)
The print quality using Overture Pet-G was comparable to my Prusa iMK3s machines but 50% the print time by comparison. (Used S1 default nozzle temp and flow rate profile - I did increase the bed temp to 90)
When prototyping and running a business - speed and quality are both equally important. This printer has quickly become the goto. (The Bambu X1C is a close 2nd, but limited in print volume)
Wish list for the S1: have auto retract on the spool for unloading filament.
Multiple filament. I see no reason why FLSUN could accommodate at least 3 filaments. (On per side)
Multi-Material (not just color)
Additional functionality on the display panel for loading / unloading filament/ temperature overrides for drying and loading / unloading.
The slicer is premature and needs to be improved. It’s almost like Prusa Slicer, less some of the ease of use menus. (Right Mouse Button in slicer has all the functionality that should be in top pull down menus)
Thanks for the review… 😊
Which filament do you use for speed for X1c? Im a surgeon and a tech nerd. Just hard to figure out which upgraded filament to get vs just bambu stuff. Thanks
Wonder how far we are going to take fast printing. I thought 500mms was insane but this is just ridiculous. I dont even really print above 250mms to balance speed and quality.
I"m interested in getting the S1 but as for speed claims I'm more concerned about normal printing and not speed benchy races. The Bambu default speed for good quality prints is about 250 mm/s from what I have seen online. So I guess the real question is can the S1 print good quality prints at 500 mm/s or 700 mm/s? I would be happy with that all day long. Others mentioned the people who have a side gig printing and selling products. With the increased speed this would be a plus for sure.
We had pretty solid results under 600mm/s with a standard PLA. I think that would be the limit. Under 600 for showcase prints, anything above for draft prints.
@@3DJake_Official that is very good for speed and quality, Definitely better than bambu x1c. If only there was an AMS for the S1 it would be a home run.
You sure its a volcano nozzle? Someone else said it looks like a v6, and in their new nozzle change video it looks like a v6 or mk8. Hopefully it's one of those three because another proprietary size when they don't have other diameters available is a problem.
You're right, we had the wrong information, it is actually a normal e3d v6 nozzle, same goes for the T1. Thanks for pointing it out!
From what i've seen it's a volcano extruder/heater block with V6 nozzle
Dang, this is a pretty impressive machine. Hoping the T1 is a great bang for buck.
Hi, please a review of the T1 because your advice is smart !
Thank’s a lot.
finally i found some good footage of the S1! im really torn between buying this, a p1s. the x1c doesn't have the upgrades from the p1s that i truly care about so it is either that or the s1 which is over double the price but also double the speed.
If you can answer this then you are the top surgeon level of 3d printing. Is bambu labs filament already a high speed filament like this polysonic pla? I just want to make sure that my x1c uses actual high speed filament. I have done the research, but can't find yes or no answer. Thanks. Signed- Real OR surgeon but a nerd for tech. Lol
hey man i have bought from ur website a microswiss flow tech 2 days ago. bought if for my ender 3 v3 se :3
Thanks for the info! Seems like this printer won't be going in my living room, bummer. Might have to settle for a Bambu
Looking at that thing....... I think we're nearing the point where you measure print volume by the number of small children that'll fit inside the print enclosure.
Well, people demanded speed and they got it. Watch out what you wish for...
Why, that thing IS the coolest printer of the year
@@Noname-gz1gx Of course it's great. I ordered one for myself. But it's a big, heavy behemoth that costs a lot and can suck in your cat. Not everybody have place in his room for something sized like small fridge and can handle vacum cleaner sound 24/7
I would have to agree, this printer is not for everyone
Ah yes, 1.2m/s 3d printing…
Gonna be waiting a couple weeks
That's travel, and they're being very conservative in what they advertise. It can easily do double that. My delta does 2400 travel and can go higher especially if I limit acceleration to something under 25k. But for actual print move speed, this thing is going to start hitting extrusion limits around 300-400 mm/s.
I still think it's funny that manufacturers tout the speed of these things when it's pretty well known at this point that you won't be printing at those speeds if you want any semblance of quality..like yeah, it can move that fast, butt why ya gotta try to act like it'll have the same quality as printing slow..
Printers designed to print fast have better quality at the speeds they run at than previous generation printers at low stock profile speeds.
@@daliasprints9798 well yeah, they can still print faster then previous generations add achieve decent quality, but everyone just loves inflating their numbers -.-
@@TS_Mind_Swept Mainly they all just lie about flow because it's easy for consumers not to understand how they don't actually get the speed they requested. But then when someone goes and tries to print a giant flat surfaced cube the print mysteriously fails.
@@daliasprints9798 "mysteriously" SuperVinlin
vfas........
what the fuk was that supposed to be a non printing review so whjat happened to actaully showing it printing rather than sat on the desk or did it fail at every print becasue if i was reviewing the printer then im sure i would have actualkly shown it printing
Did you not get enough sleep last night or did your mommy upset you this morning. Clearly you get triggered easily. You might want to see a psychologist to work through your anger management issues. 😂
I just watched the first 10 seconds... he showed the printer printing. Not sure what you are on about
