Great video. Building a 340 myself to go in a '68 notchback barracuda. 318 car now with a thermoquad and eddy performer mani. The well choke even works! The 340 block is still @ standard bore because #4 main spun and no one ever fixed it. Bought block for 500 with a bad main. Barely catches the fingernail so I think it only spun around once. Leaving the windage tray out because I don't have one, and the saddles won't forgive another spin once fixed. Going the exact same route on the heads. Have pre-smog no pump hole 1.88 J's and will have them cut to 2.02 for the EPN swirled stainless valves I have. Have a fully forged bottom end mostly stock and all used. Cam choice? Comp XE275-HL. Those J's are close to x's for flow and I'll probably just have a bowl blend and a little work at the pushrod pinch point. My biggest problem is I need a money tree for the machine work. 😁
That 2.02 Stainless Valve Job on My J Heads really woke up My '74 360HP Engine bored 0.030 over with zero deck height Forged Pistons Starts and runs Good now.
I think I paid 200 or something like that for a NOS or new but never used ...at the time Summit had them advertised but would tell you they were backordered then not available...they werent 200 at Summit though they were alit less, but they didnt have them LOL! was a year or two ago...
@@markg7030 yes rediculously alot but it was a decision of " get it now or pay who knows how much later..." the speculation though is that they are going to repop more at some point. It also serms the 383- 440 ones etc.are more available...

Yup they flow real well 😁👍
Good video. I’ve got 2.02 J heads on my 360.
With .30 over block, H116CP30 speed pro pistons , lunati .474/.490 Voodoo camshaft.
Bolt them on and make some horse power. How much was the Pie Tin?

@@MrSwinger1 That's a lot for a pie tin. I would have thought maybe $30 for a repro.
