I get the feeling that Calvin knows that this guy knows more than he’s letting on. Calv is obviously much more thorough than he lets on during these test drives (can see him processing the faults as he drives 😂). A broken car makes good content for the channel though so we get to enjoy a few more vids out of it. Top work 👍

@@boyced To be fair, I get why he didn't drive it down. If he did, he'd have to take public transport all the way back to Peterborough, which is a quest and half.
It's the way he talks so much that puts me off. Always overdoing it with trying to assure his authenticity. I had a dealer try that sh*t with me up in Birmingham. Tried to distract me by talkin'a whole lot of a** gravy. Only for me to find several oil leaks on the M235i (N55) around the oil filter housing. The underside of the car ( especially oil sump) was absolutely f*ckin' soaked in oil, I wouldn't be surprised if America tried and seize it.
That could be a 3k bill possible gearbox, he knew that

Had a hard life though🤣 water pump is the failure on mot, coolant leaked into the loom and replaced to sell, didn’t buy the 140 new. Bought it while we couldn’t find the water pump issue because I got fed up driving my girlfriends abarth😂 I put the wheel on and coded cruise in.
I sold it cheap to sell, not 15k he could still make good money. Don’t think it’s the box personally.
How much did you sell it for if you dm me asking, and do you have any ideas on what Calvin mentioned - about it being all over the place when driving

Car vertical is great.... untill you get a car that's been badly repaired off record. I.e for cash etc so no records of damage.

Calv, you are one of the very few good guys in second hand car world! I don’t think I’ve ever made a negative comment about someone you’ve had on. But unfortunately that chap in my opinion is everything that’s wrong with a lot of the second hand car trade. He was happy to retail that for 15k to some young kid! Despite what he says, he knew that wasn’t driving right. If he genuinely couldn’t detect that, he really should consider going back to being a sparky.
He knew it wasn’t driving right and bought it down on a trailer is what set alarm bells dining for me 😂. “Trades from home” wonder if his cars come properly invoiced or if you need comeback 4 months down the line he claims to be private seller
As the owner of a 2018 M3 F80 Competition in Yas Marina Blue that looks amazing. At 56,000 miles it should be driving straight and true but it might have hit a pothole or something to knock the suspension geometry out ? Interesting to see what Will says from VRS. Great video thank you.
The amount of times the fella says "yeah I dunno" sets of alarm bells. Gonna take a guess at Flywheel and/or Floating release bearing replacement.
Its an automatic there’s no flywheel/clutch bud

Not every accident cars are recorded and I’ve seen cars that are green on every ticks, but whilst looking you could tell its been involved in some sort of accident.
Hi Calv, not to be negative but I think the car vert and other checks are a tad misleading or the way they're being portrayed. So many cars are Salvage but unrecorded.. I know, I buy them. My daily transporter is one. Maybe some people think if its clean on there its never been hit but that's not the case. Likewise a heavy damaged repair through insurance won't show either. And the same damage that would be repaired by insurance would be a cat n if the cars value were less say if the same car was 6 months older. Quite a lot to think about for buyers. I mean it's not black and white.
I just absolutely love cars with all black interior. Car seems okay, fair fair play. That Yas Marina blue is on point! Wouldn't mind test driving a car like this😊

Unrecorded damage as if most of the cars on the road especially in places like London don’t have accidents which aren’t recorded, it’s the reality of cars.
Literally saw this car on market place being sold by a dodgy looking guy a few months back 😂 there’s more to this

These 135i and 140i have ended up with the parked outside council houses, next to the broken fridge and motorbike engine, hands down the front of their grey egg stained tracksuit bottoms whilst wearing white socks and flip flop crowds. I’ll never own a 140i again. Their time has been and gone. Oh and the man bag , forgot about the man bag and neck tattoos

SOOO if you put gear into the D and you hear a rattle or little noise but nothing when it sits in N that indicates a gearbox issue or drivetrain ?
Dont understand how traders know nothin about the cars theyre sellin these days.... like do yas not ask questions when buying the car? No idea if its tuned, no idea why it was painted? In all fairness if i was buying a car id be asking those questions 🤔😂

might just need steering rack repair kit, common problem on F series bmw's.

How do you do a spec check?? I’ve seen two cars but can’t decide between the two.
I along with the majority of the comment section believe this guy knows more than he seems. Firstly, repainting a full car takes a lot of time and money especially when it’s a colour change, therefore people usually don’t do it unless some sort of repair needed to be done. Secondly, he accepted £10,500, which makes u think how much he purchased the car off of the previous owner for and if he’s talking about a healthy profit then why did he not get the car ready and sell it at a cheaper price than retail and still make a good profit? But I guess the next video we will find out.
I find it hard to believe a 2012 plate 135i is worth more than 11k

im not a trader but one thing I always do whenever I've looked at something like this at an independent, is ring the most local BMW center to where the seller is or where the car has been (from SH) and see if its been in to them for anything recently and its paid off for me on a couple of occasions where they've said yes it was in for diagnostic for a gearbox fault etc etc obviously they can give you detailed info due to GDPR but they can tell you if its been in and you can make your mind up from there, it does sometimes depend who you get on the phone but ive been helped twice by dealers with this. that kid knew straight away its got history becuase the moment you said there's something definitely wrong with this, he went sheepish AF lol.
What does he know? All he says is I don’t know! 🤭🤭

Whenever I’ve had a BMW wander on the road. It’s been - tyres,, unrecorded damage/something bent, alignment - in that order.
If there was new tyres on it, then I’d have suspected something bent.

if its had a respray.. its very good... way too good for some dodgy accident repair..
