    I tried pretty much all the above and walked away with the ZX5, very happy with them and hit them the best out of the group. I love these sort of tests around the 80-84mph range for a 7 iron, its very representative of a lot of golfers. Greta video pal

    Great comparison! Own the T200, Srixon, and Ping i530. Have hit all the rest, with the exception of the Callaway. 7 iron swing speed is 82-83. To underscore the degree of subjectivity that these tests always entails, T200 is my least favorite. Srixon is great, Mizuno are most attractive, Cobra does feel great. I also like the PXGs. Current playing the Pings. One thing to keep in mind-if you’re playing a club like Ping, you need to play a high spin high flying ball, a la Pro V1x, PXG, Vice Pro Plus, etc. Can get 5-10 feet more elevation that way, with concomitant improvement in landing angle and spin. All in all, one of the better tests on this category of clubs. You have a new subscriber!

      The Kirkland ball would be great with the ping iron. For me I miss out of the toe a lot so ping also wins there.

    Actually this test mirrors my findings very well. Ping launch too low with minimal spin. While P790 and T200 launch spin spot on. I would happily take 5 less yards.

    I’ve tried all of these, you fitted me into the 790’s and was verging on 770, glad i went for the 790 as already dropped 5 shots on my handicap, back to mid single figures despite my age. It wasn’t just the club, it was your shaft fitting, going back to steel and slightly heavier has improved my distance and dispersion. So, getting a good fitting is most important, which ever of these you chose.

    It's amazing how you can swing so consistently using a swing significantly different than your own natural swing - both path and speed. I hit a lot of those clubs before finally deciding on the T200's. I really like them....just need to be able to play more is all!! Great review - you're putting out great content, don't be discouraged....it's one of those if you build it - they will come sort of things. Once you reach a certain size I think it affects the algorithm and your videos show up to more people and the snowball picks up speed.

    My go to channel for reviews. All of these clubs I would game with. I agree the mizuno pro 245 is my best for looks but would always depend on what suits your game. Would be keen to come to your studio for a full fitting. HCP is 15.2 and play pxg 0211xcor 2 105stiff. Fitted 2 years ago. How do the pxg compare to the clubs you tested?

      Thanks Neil, glad you like the channel. And tbh I haven't hit those so can't really comment. But id put those irons in the game improvement category as they are super strong in the loft. So these would be the next category up really so the main thing would be a higher ball flight with all of these vs yours

    Well done swinging at 80, it's so much more relatable for the clubs being used. You mention that for even slower swings 70-75 you'd recommend a more lofted option, my swing is in that lower speed range but my delivery and strike point is pretty good. 3.5 to 4 down, fraction in to out, club face angle square or slightly open, slight draw spin. If you do a 70-75 mph video I imagine you'd be demoing the HL models, if that video does take place would you mind also hitting a couple of more traditional lofted compact models as well. (primarily without the off set). Thanks and well done again. (just subscribed, thought I had already but have done so now).

    In my top three channels for fair and accurate data, along with Jay at AskGolfNut and Ian and Mikey at TXG. Always appreciate you chipping some 7-irons out there 150 for us mere mortals, Russ!
    I have Titleists in the bag right now, a blend of 620MB, T150, and T200. The T200 5-iron surprised me. First it felt pretty good. It feels and sounds LOADS better off grass than inside off a mat. It also goes fairly high (for me) and spins and stops decently. I'm right at that speed where on paper I really shouldn't even be using a 5-iron, because I'm low 80s with 7-iron and only up to mid/high 80s with 5-iron - sometimes touching 90/91. But you just can't beat a long iron for punch escapes and hitting funky little low hooks and draws into the wind. And off the tee it's plenty easy to get it high enough to stop. Well... if it's a back pin...and a slow green. Ha!

    I fully understand that you can't test everything, but I think an omission on this comparison would be the PXG Gen 7 P. Really good looks, good feel, and good performance. T200 is a solid choice though, and you've got the added advantage of being so easy to blend with the 150 or the 300. I haven't hit the Ai200 yet, but I didn't like the feel with the Ping i530 and was disappointed with the lack of distance I experienced with the ZX5. Currently game the 790.

    Great review mate, I've watched it 3 times now. I think the point you make about it's down to the individual is spot on. I've had two sessions trying to find the right club and tried most of these and ended up with the p790's. There was very little between the titleist, mizuno and TM but came down to feel and what suited my swing. Yes they are all expensive but I'm not the sort that buys new clubs every other year so to me money well spent. Thanks for your efforts.

    Titleist also has a bunch of shafts options stock if you order from them. They provide a fitting off real grass at a real range , I like this. I own the mizuno 225 , I like the graphite shaft option they offered in 2022 compared to titleist . My battle that year was the srixon and the mizuno , they had the steel fiber shaft stock. • @epgolfstudios

      Well in all honesty the only reason the P770 isn't in this category is obviously loft. But in my honest opinion the forgiveness difference between the 770 and 790 is nothing so all it really comes down to is ball flight. 790 being stronger in loft will launch lower and spin less and the 770 will launch higher and spin more. So just depends what you need

      10000% in an actual fitting scenario one of these clubs could stand out head and shoulders for someone above the rest. I'm just trying to be as impartial as possible and test them all with a similar swing to see how they really compare. I find it all the time when people click with heads so much better than others for no apparent reason.

    • @epgolfstudios

      125 - 130 ball speed is quick for a 7 iron. 126/127 is PGA Tour Average for a 7 iron so you are right up there. So yeah I'd agree you probably should be in mage strong lofted irons. I always find it interesting that you talk about not fitting people with high swing speeds into GI irons and that you fit the player. I’ve struggled to find an answer to this question. What catagory of iron would you fit somebody into with a 90mph 7 iron swing and inconsistent strike. Would you say it’s better to buy GI irons and have them delofted? I find there’s not a lot of info out there for faster swingers that don’t have consistency of strike. Most fitting videos presume if you swing it quicker your handicap is single digits

    • @epgolfstudios
      @epgolfstudios  29 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      You answer your question in your first statement. You fit the player into the clubs that best suit their delivery, regardless of handicap. Don't get too hung up on thinking you need GI irons because of the forgiveness, they are no more forgiving that any of the "players irons" just get fitted and get the clubs that give you the best numbers, performance, ball flight, gapping etc ,👌

      Definitely interested in this too. I’m a tall 15 HCP with a 92-94 7 iron (+1 inch) using T300s. I get along with them pretty well, but I’m a “picker” with shallow AoA (about 1 down for 7 iron and 2 down for wedges). I sometimes wonder if my thin misses and overdraws could be helped with a thin soled/low bounce club. Also while the forgiveness is good on T300 it feel like they have frequent “jumpers” if I catch them right. I also struggle from the rough when I get steeper, but I can’t tell if it is my swing or the rough catching the club.

      Hey Charles, unlikely the sole profile will have any effect on your thin shots tbh mate I'd say just need to work on the delivery on that one. Yeah the front to back dispersion with those irons is always worse especially if you have speed. You just don't need strong lofted distance irons. Chances are you would be better off with something like a ZX5/ZX7 or possibly even like a T150

    I was fitted and own the T200s and hate them…feel and sound is just unbearable for me…I wound up going with the T150s instead, but also own MP 243s and Miura KM700s. Give up a tad of distance and forgiveness with the T150s, but not much, and they feel 100% better…I prefer a smaller headed iron, to the T150s are great for me…I also own a set of Miura IC 602s which are absolutely brilliant too, but not a mainstream iron…now that I see what I wrote, time to start getting rid of some sets! LOL…I actually have my son use the T200s and my wife uses the IC 602s…I have yet to like the 243s and keep tinkering with shafts and weights on it to see if I can dial it in…hard not to like MIzunos.

    • @epgolfstudios
      @epgolfstudios  28 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      You can’t take much notice of total yardage on here as there’s too many variables to take into account. On a completely level playing field if a ball flies lower and have less height and less spin it will always take longer to stop
