Ross has asked that we subscribe, trust everyone does, as it’s free. I would also advocate using him as a fitter, if you are within striking distance of Newbury, defintley worth a visit. In my fitting Ross offered me the specs, so i could purchase online or used, very fair and honest. I elected to buy through his business, he matched the best online quotes, received my fitted clubs, checked the lofts and lies, and then forwarded the clubs to me. Fitting and post fitting service was 2nd to none, fitting exactly as you see on YT, not rushed, thorough and informative. 2 hour journey for me, worth every minute.
On my way to see you on Saturday. Brilliant videos which clearly show you personalise fittings - take your time to understand individual players - and a local business too. Can’t wait 🎉
love your stuff mate..im 12 hcp and played p770s...after 2 trips abroad playing rental stealth clubs it became apparent how harder i was making the game for myself..bought some when home and there so much easier and scoring is far more consistent..i also find them easier round the greens
Genuinely informative and smart club fitting stuff, well done. I'd be there like a shot if I could try clubs outside rather than on the simulator (I'm a pretty good golfer off the mat, a much poorer one off actual grass....). But I really hope you grow and prosper: starting up on your own is always a challenge, I'm convinced you'll get to where you want to be.
I am in the high 20s (barely breaking 100 if I'm lucky) and I am looking at the Maltby TS3s. I know this may be a long shot, but any experience with that iron in the GI category especially? Also, here for the Mizuno vs the Srixons. Have tried the AI Smoke HL and Ai300.
Great video Ross. Recommend anyone to go and see these guys. I went with the intention of buying a new driver and Ross instead gave me a lesson saying just didn’t need one yet. Can I think of anyone else who would do that - er no! Top guy and excellent channel 👍
I'm struggling to see how Dave is a 22 when he hits his 7i 150 with pretty decent consistency especially when he says he's comfortable with putter and wedge ! Another top video and results are really close which in many respects which is a credit to the lower proved clubs vs the premium brands
@@epgolfstudiosha ha sounds familiar ! Still loving my 7w (and 5w) you fitted me for and working on technique before coming back for another driver review sometime.
Ross- I find your content very much value add. Keep doing what your doing ad I am sure you will gain more subs as more people see the value of your content. Keep up the good work!
The g730 while being SGI also has a vertical center of gravity that is higher in the head. With his strike being higher on the face it’s not a surprise it worked so well. Most SGI irons have a low VCOG which are better for sweepers of the ball.
Yeah I mean that could have had something to do with it but I don't think it's vastly different to other SGI irons. Moving CG significantly in irons takes a lot
@@epgolfstudiosI was just going off Maltbys numbers. Ping over the years keeps going higher and higher with their vcog and more weight on the perimeter for higher moi.
I was going to say the same thing. When he’s on actual turf the toe is going to dig and he’s going to hit to the right every time. The only club that he didn’t hit with an angle of more than 2* down was the forged tech.
This was a really good informative video. I’m thinking about buying the T350s and this was a really nice comparison with a high handicapper swinging. He looks just like me.
Are there any negatives to game improvement irons as I have been fit into players distance irons lofted up as being older and not holding greens because of 76-78 7 iron swing speed. The fitter I saw was dead against game improvement irons for me as he said they would give me no feedback on poor strikes. Currently a 13 handicap age 58.
I recently just had a fitting and went with the AI300 clubs 2 degrees weaker. I've picked up 20 yards over my 15 year old clubs and the dispersion and consistency are much better.
Hi I had the Stealths for almost 3 seasons and loved them got about 400 rounds with them with original grips so I sold them lol looking at the Qi irons / PXG Black Ops irons / and the Cobra Darkspeed irons any thoughts or advice ? anyone ? thx cheers from Canada
The PINGs were so good for him! You wanted more spin and/or decent angle. A few questions. Did you consider having him try the G430? A touch more loft there. OR did you discuss with him playing or testing a higher spinning ball? Tour Chrome X, BXS, Z-Star Diamond, even Maxfli Tour X all good options depending on feel preference and price point.
Yeah I mean this obviously wasn't a fitting video but I did mention that I wouldn't fit him into that category of iron I'd definitely go more loft. The 430 could have been an option or probably going into like the ZX5 would be good or 790/T200 etc
As you can see the performance difference isn't huge, so basically just make sure you get fitted properly and then go with the option that give you most consistentcy. But get fitted somewhere you can test them both at the same time with the same shaft 👌
An excellent and very comprehensive review, I would have to say that if your tester is a “high handicap” golfer then there must be some other aspect of his game that is really crap !
Thanks Paul, glad you enjoyed it. And don't forget we edited out a hell of a lot of shots 😂 I only showed you guys a very small portion of what we actually hit on the day
This wasn't a fitting video it was a test video. I wouldn't advise him to actually game any of these irons I think we need to move Dave up into the next category of irons that have a bit more loft. So maybe we could do a full fitting video with him later on 👍
Hi Ross you said he was leaking the Mizuno out to the right wouldn’t that be down to lie angle Mizuno normally 1 degree flatter lie angle compared to other manufacturers 👍🏴
Yeah if this were a proper fitting I'd be fitting him into more upright the 63* 7 iron, possibly a blended set, more upright in the long irons and progressively get flatter
@@PeterLoof high enough. 25+ you're really struggling to get any fair data with the clubs tbh. I don't think it would be do-able. Na, we used to do PXG but they're going more direct to consumer now so we will just let them do their own thing. Yeah they're decent but certainly no better than any other premium brand.
