Canadian shooting stars UNLEASH THE ARCHERS have been on the road since their inception in 2007. Since then they have created an immensely loyal North American fan base. With a fresh sound, precise songwriting and the incredible feeling for heaviness and melodies, this power quintet with singer Brittney Slayes are now ready to take the rest of the world. Their new studio album Time Stands Still, is fast-paced and wildly entertaining; the combination of power vocals, death screams, tasty guitar licks and complex drumming provide a little something for everyone. The interesting thing about Unleash The Archers is that they manage to revive 1980's heavy power metal to modern times with extreme personality. They also show that the strength of a band is the ability and inspiration to make great songs. Despite being a young band, it shows absolute maturity and also that when the great bands end activities like Iron Maiden, Judas... Unleash The Archers is ready to be a strong global representative of heavy metal. Unleash The Archers for the past six years, is releasing albums of extreme quality and huge inspiration in songwriting.
It's not power metal just because it has operatic vocals. This is just a modernized interpretation of classic Heavy Metal. If you wanna call them Power Metal, then I would agree Abyss is a Power Metal album but most of it isn't.
There's definitely a lot of Helloween and Queensryche influence here, too. This was released before Apex, which has their cover of Queen of the Reich on the Japanese version.
@@austinhudson5349 Power Metal is basically any metal band where the lyrics/themes are more fantasy/sci-fi, along with the classic sound and high-pitched vocals (maybe mixed with some growling). UTA definitely has the theme going for them. I'd say they're power metal by today's standards. If you look at early Judas Priest, Queensryche, Helloween, and Iron Maiden (among others), you can hear both the musical AND thematic influences. And those bands laid the foundation for power metal.
@@ArchangelJaceAscended That's a generalization, not fact. Not all Power Metal is Fantasy driven or has high-pitched vocals. You aren't even talking about the musical aspect that is very power chord driven. Does UTA have Power Metal elements? Of course, especially the recent album, but not all of it. I would argue Apex is more Melodic Thrash or traditional Heavy Metal than Power Metal.
Iron Maiden and Judas Priest are precursors because they were Metal, but they aren't Power Metal. A lot of Power Metal bands take a lot of influence from them but the high vocals and fantasy lyrics aren't everything. You are ignoring the entirety of the instrumentation.

We waited years since the passing of dio to belive we would never hear his haunting vocals again but atlast we was wrong as they certainly have been reborn through this female vocalist and the beautiful writing much similar as that of iron maiden who told stories with their music not just music for the sake of it.
Congrats this song and band will go far and deserves alot more recognition within the music industry

I knew the band from before and quite few great songs of them. but man, I heard this for the first time this morning and I can't get it out of my head. her voice is amazing, the music is outstanding, the choir great and that's a killer riff. simplicity on it's best. I fucking love it!

On this album Brittney had her pipes fixed on Legendary settings. Man Frozen Steel and Hail of the Tide makes me full of adrenaline, sends shivers of joy down my whole body, and damn Scott Buchanan man behind the drums wrote the lyrics...amazing.
