    An old Scottish Gaelic blessing is Cuiridh mi clach air do chàrn, "I'll put a stone on your stone". In Highland folklore it is recounted that before Highland clans fought in a battle, each man would place a stone in a pile. Those who survived the battle returned and removed a stone from the pile. The stones that remained were built into a cairn to honour the dead.

    Lyrics ;
    Chorus:
    Ah, for just one time I would take the Northwest Passage
    To find the hand of Franklin reaching for the Beaufort Sea;
    Tracing one warm line through a land so wild and savage
    And make a Northwest Passage to the sea.
    Westward from the Davis Strait 'tis there 'twas said to lie
    The sea route to the Orient for which so many died;
    Seeking gold and glory, leaving weathered, broken bones
    And a long-forgotten lonely cairn of stones.
    (chorus)
    Three centuries thereafter, I take passage overland
    In the footsteps of brave Kelso, where his "sea of flowers" began
    Watching cities rise before me, then behind me sink again
    This tardiest explorer, driving hard across the plain.
    (chorus)
    And through the night, behind the wheel, the mileage clicking west
    I think upon Mackenzie, David Thompson and the rest
    Who cracked the mountain ramparts and did show a path for me
    To race the roaring Fraser to the sea.
    (chorus)
    How then am I so different from the first men through this way?
    Like them, I left a settled life, I threw it all away.
    To seek a Northwest Passage at the call of many men
    To find there but the road back home again.

This group nailed it and I will be following more of their music as a result. They paid respect to Stan and yet I am sure are bringing a new and younger group to learn about Stan and his music as well as their own !!! I am an old fart, listening to Stan for many years ....thank you Unleash the Archers for this ....for your own music as well .....someone commented here earlier that Stan's music is important to Canadians, that is true, I am not Canadian, I have traveled throughout the country, every province that is ..... I would add this - Stan's music is important to the WORLD ....a giant .....thanks for posting this, for this moving forward of his music and for your own wonderful, pounding yet graceful music. The subject matter may not be your thing, but their previous album, Apex, is one I would recommend giving a listen to at least once.
      It is a "concept" album. Apex tells a story over the course of the album. The content of each song leading into the next to build a contiguous story.
      It may be one of the better power metal albums ever made.
      Each member of this band is a talented musician, but Brittney Hayes is the keystone. Her vocal talent breathes true life into the music they create together. She is an absolute master in the field.

    So, my initial thoughts on a quick view, I need to watch again to really catch the detail:
    Three words - Beautiful, surreal, and haunting. This felt like a tiny glimpse into the highs and lows of trying to make it in what is essentially a labor of love, but requires you to have a lot of personal and financial stress while remaining passionate and creative.
    The cuts were incredibly well done and detailed, capturing all of those feelings and changing from moment to moment up until the end. Two details I'd point out are Brittney's reactions to the changes/duplicates, and the other band members (who arent seeing these items) come off so well done and genuine.
    Brittney's reactions escalate perfectly from "Am I tired and seeing things" to "Okay, this is freaky..." to "PANIC" in a realistic way, while everyone else perfectly captures the air of normalcy with the occasional "... are you alright " directed at Brittney's escalating tension, which creates that surreal atmosphere.
    The specific other item is a minor detail, but so well placed, the Twizzler that's slowly wilting as Brittney has one of those elapsed time moments while Andy is pumping the gas. It's a subtle detail, but it basically reflects the time-stopped thought process of "Whaaaaaaaat the fuck is happening here...", giving us a window into their thoughts without dialogue.
    Overall that's what I'm most impressed with, the visuals tell a story that's related to the music and, while unique, ends up meshing perfectly.
    Solid effort all around. Kudos to the band for more amazing music, kudos to the band again for their acting skills being so convincing, and kudos to whomever directed, shot, and cut the video because they did a phenomenal job.
    Side note: I REALLY have to get up to Western Canada at some point, absolutely gorgeous.

      @mazzar35 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This, I also think the multiple Britts are showing her different sides of doubt/anger/anxiety, that in the end the side of her that is scared and overwhelmed wants to just run, but her strength shows on and 'pushes/kills' the doubt and fear inside her and just embraces the moment. You can see by the different rings they wear, the final Britt is her true self while the others are the parts of her mind that doubt 'Am I good enough?' 'Do people hate me?' 'I should give up and go back to a normal job' 'I don't deserve this'

At the end her "fear" forces her to flee, mid-performance. But then the real her, the one with courage, determination, and perseverance kills that fear and embraces her new life.
