I got to go to Israel and Palestine last spring 2023, and have to say that Palestinians are very kind, welcoming and friendly people. In several hotels that we stayed at, there were young Palestinian people working as staff in the dining room and they made the effort to learn the names of the food in Korean, so they could say them to us. We were a group of Korean Americans so we could speak English which they were also fluent in, but the fact that they went the extra length to be welcoming towards us with our original language meant a lot. The fact is he was probably referring to major news networks including NBC specifically as being complicit in that systematic dehumanization of Palestinians on our TV screens. What was said? Thank you for choosing to stand up for justice. People that can take the pain and suffering they are experiencing and turn it into inspiration and action that is good and positive are those who make the world a better place.
So horrific for these young men...
Palestinians are incredible! Their strength and faith are something to admire
I cannot imagine if this attack was against a group of Jews, that the courts would still be debating whether the man should be charged for a hate crime
A lot of self-proclaimed, droning on-and-on, whiny victims out there, but here's beautiful sentiment from someone who was actually victimized.
There is no islamophobia in Muslim countries
CRICKETS
so true thank u, he made me cry
Such a humane person, this guy. And his friends too, also, for thinking about the plight of Gazans even in this situation. It’s a shame that America, which is a great country in many ways, is tormented by so much violence and hatred for people of different origins. And it’s horrifying that Palestinians are in risk even there 😢
America is not a great country .
Its funding, arming and allowing Israel to do genocide.
What a powerful way to going through something so horrifying. I wish them, and their other friend who was a victim, a speedy recovery (both mentally and physically)!
I love that despite everything they've been through, they are using this opportunity to speak up and highlight what is happening in Gaza and Palestine in general
I just can't accept his humbleness, personally I would be full of rage and hate if it was me.... It boggles my mind, he is definitely a better man than me.
My heart goes to this brave young man. It is really hard to live with all the hate directed towards all who look different, let alone express a different opinion. I am speaking from personal experience too as an expat living in Australia. Yet he still calls to address the wider issue and does not pick on the deranged guy who caused him pain.
If this wasn't a hate crime then what is?
How many people on this planet can be as caring and loving as these heroes especially after being disabled from a such a heinous act . Why has the man not been charged with hate crimes is beyond unreasonable
So sad what hate can do..
This is a HATE CRIME
Im surprised nbc interviewed them
My heart breaks for them
Happened to me before n a chicago suburb America is disgustingly racist
This is so sad and infuriating
We are a strong people and you will overcome this! Our people will continue to fight around the world for the justice that ALL PALESTINIANS DESERVE! Free Free Palestine❤❤❤❤❤
FROM THE IRANIAN BACKED TERRORISTS HAMAS and PALESTINIAN ISLAMIC JIHAD. There are only Arabs in the Middle East, the Palestinian title is a remnant of the British Mandate.
Huge respect for Palastinian people. They show the world what it takes be a Palastinian with high moral. I highly appreciate many brave Americans regardless of their religion stand by the side of Palastinian people . Salute to all Palestinians and their supporters for their sacrifices .
Palestinians have to be some of the strongest, most beautiful people on this earth. we can learn so much from them 🇵🇸
You can learn from all ppl man come on
@@thomasmellinis7782- You clearly haven't watched the videos coming out of Gaza. It's awe-inspiring. All the atrocities and horrors they face, and not once do they curse their occupiers, not once do they complain, only asking for a ceasefire and speaking about how grateful they are of their creator who they find solace in, showing us how they continue to live and push forward whether it's doing their jobs as journalists, doctors, ambulance medics, teachers, rubble diggers, animal rescuers, etc. Their fortitude, resilience, and humility is unlike anything we've seen. And the eloquence of small Palestinian children with wisdom beyond their years is astounding. If you haven't watched, do so in order that you may understand what everyone means when we talk about Palestinian resilience and patience. Almost saint-like.

I still think about their faces and pray for them and hope they are doing alright,.
i hope so too. you're lucky you got to visit before it was totally demolished but i hope they're able to rebuild and of course keep their culture alive@@Imokayluv
It's a hateful crime....but not a a hate a crime! Wow. Just wow.
Man I can't believe the amount of anger I would have if this happened to me. Also Notice how barely any western media calling this a terrorist attack.. very ironic
This was a disgusting hate crime.
And Oct 7 too!
@@jamesb.9155 100% my friend. As a Jewish person, I don't know if I, or any of us, will be able to recover ♡♡♡ Thank you for adding this.
@@jamesb.91551948 and every day since then as well. Palestinians have suffered so much oppression and deaths since then.
It takes three young handsome men to ppl feel sympathy for a whole culture. Their lucidity is impressive.
Bill Ackman needs to be held accountable, because America is a nation of laws, and of equality before these laws.
#AckmanBDS #BDSAckman
I am surprised they were not asked if they condemn 'Khamas'.
Aye yes😂😂😂 but maybe the interviewer is a real man
All Palestinians are survivors 💔
Thanks for sharing their story with us NBC!
this is actually such a good interview ❤ and i wish only the best for all the young men and their families
How can think that humans exist only on one side of this conflict?
ask Palestinians they're experts.
Palestinians perspective always winnn i admire themmmm their solidarity despite the pain that they have been through
What's most interesting is how the editors at 2:09 blurred out the victim's answer the moment after he was asked "why do you think he shot you." It was right after the victim answered "systematic dehumanization" then you cut to a different section of the interview and did a somewhat impressive job making it seem uncut. The fact is he was probably referring to major news networks including NBC specifically as being complicit in that systematic dehumanization of Palestinians on our TV screens. What was said? What did you cut out?
Such lovely young men.. I pray that Allah blesses them with patience, courage, health and protection.
حسبنا الله ونعم الوكيل
I am so sad about this event.
Ugh 😢 poor baby 😔 his whole life ahead of him and paralyzed by a mad man 😭😭😡😡
Long live Palestine and her people ❤️🇵🇸
Wow he is a brown student ivyLeague and now he is paralyzed
His perspective is very impressive. He thinks of victims who are worse off than him rather than feel sorry for his own situation. That is true stoicism
Oh my God.. imagine being shot by a psycho and a getting paralysed because of that.. my God. Sending prayers to this young man, Godspeed..
❤ free Palestine
Bravo Israelis.
@@jamesb.9155Oh you mean the children murderers?? Children make up 47 percent of Gaza's population.
Justice for them and all Palestinians!
God's chosen people showing their true colour
Told the police "I've been waiting for you"
(Pleaded not guilty)
Why say hateful act? It’s a hate crime plain and simple
What happened to the guy who shoot this boy ?
Right? It doesn't really say it
I am praying Hisham to recover.
He didn't even care about going to prison
In USA I once fought a guy from Pakistan, long story short police got called on me, then I got charged w hate crime
What a selfless family. Redirecting the spotlight on the plight of others when asked about their own.
Palestinians are repeatedly proved to be the best of humanity
Props to him for making the best out of his misfortune! Rather than self pity, he chose to be the voice for those being bombed and show how human Palestinians are, while others are de-humanizing them.
They say they are animals, he showed they are human.
They try to change the narrative, he chose to uphold it.
These young men know just how easily Americans can be manipulated, so they told us exactly how it is.
There has been COUNTLESS attacks, shootings and death threats against Muslims and Palestinians in the last few months alone across the West. Vandalism against mosques and Muslim buildings has always been the norm, so that's not even considered newsworthy. In October 2023, a 6-year-old Palestinian American boy was stabbed 26-times to death and his mother was stabbed and injured by their own landlord! There's been multiple non-Palestinian Muslims killed in the US alone.
another Hate Crime Against Muslim , and The Shooter is Considered "Distutbed" instead of Terrorist, This Young Man is So Strong With Such a Good heart in his pain Still Thinking About the less Fortunate
Meh many Muslim country’s killed so many people too
They're actually christians I believe but regardless, the man who commited the crime doesn't care whether they're muslim or christians. He just saw red when he saw them.
They are Christians not Muslims
