In animation, Efrim Zimbalist jr. is my absolute favorite. In live action I'm leaning towards Jeremy Irons, but I haven't seen enough of him yet (could have skipped an unnecessary dreamsequence if it got me a good scene with Bruce and Alfred). But basically, these Alfreds are all great!
Alistair Duncan, Ian Abercrombie, Sean Pertwee, Efrem Zimbalist. Jr, JB Blanc, Michael Gough, Alan Oppenheimer, Martin Jarvis, Michael Caine, David McCallum and Jeremy Irons. BEST ALFRED'S EVER!
David McCallum for animated. It seems most Alfred's voices were based on his flawless performance. And for Live Action, Jeremy Irons, who was among the best performances in a gas.
I've got to go with my childhood and cast my vote for Efrem Zimbalist Jr. There's been quite a few good ones though, and Sean Pertwee is doing a great job voicing him in Gotham. I would like to see a "Comparing the voices" for Tiny Tiger and Coco Bandicoot, and Uku-Uku (he's had at least three different voices, possibly four if Clancy Brown didn't voice him in Warped).
@@Mroquelle Most definitely. He's the most well-rounded, IMO, and you really get that "father figure" sense from him. Like he clearly loves Bruce like a son and cares so deeply about his safety that he's willing to aid him in his insane quest.

So many great and even legendary actors, I feel terrible for not choosing them, but I think that David McCallum sounded the best, he's got the voice I was looking for.
At this point, Sean Pertwee is the definitive Alfred for me - there's some amazing Alfred voices across all the years, but Sean Pertwee has embodied Alfred beyond just the typical old wise sage butler role - there is a fire in his Alfred that I don't feel with any of the others, and the performance he gave at the end of last season with his speeches to Bruce is just absolutely beautiful
