  • Is traveling abroad for dental implants a bad idea? Not always! Only thorough research can tell. But here is Dalette's experience.
    Dalette traveled outside of the US to have her dental implants placed, but it turned into a nightmare. Dental Implants can be expensive - but traveling outside of the US to have them done for cheaper may not be the answer. Dalette got a quote from My New Smile Dental for her All-on-4 procedure but decided to travel abroad to have her procedure done at a cheaper cost. She received low-quality work and began experiencing pain and severe infection. Her health deteriorated, and no one would help.
    She came back to Dr. Peyray at My New Smile and plead for his help. He took her case and changed her life.

    I decided to go to Los Algodones and have major work done. It would have cost me $70,000 in the U.S., it cost me $18,000 in Mexico. I would have dentures in my mouth right now if not for Mexico, adhesive and all. No problems there and a 5 yr guarantee on all the work they do. So, it all depends on who you go with. I had some very bad experiences in the U.S. with dentists in my lifetime. I am sure many of you can identify.

    I just got back from Los Algodones Mexico I got surgical extractions, bone grafts and sinus lift and I am absolutely satisfied with their work, I am looking forward to getting my implants in 6 months after I have healed The total cost for the work i need is $7200. The cost in the US was quoted at $18,000... Dont let the failed US dental industry convince you that they have the market cornered on quality dental work.. they just have the market cornered on over priced dental work. Just like any country You can get quality dental work in mexico if you do your research..start with word of mouth....

      Did you go there needing to get teeth pulled? I desperately want all on four. I'm 37 and have two thyroid diseases and vitamin deficiencies. I was also put into forced menopause when I was 18 years old.
      I need many teeth pulled, and quite a few of them are cracked, deteriorated from the inside out. A few teeth are completely gone but the roots are still there. I am absolutely devastated. And within the last 5 years the prices must have doubled???
      The snap on all on four used to cost $10k and the permanent ones cost about $25k. Now all of the sudden, they are $40k+??
      I am just starting to do my research into having them done in Mexico, such as Los Algodones. I don't know where to begin, who to speak to to ask these questions. I don't have the means right now to go there for the first evaluation bc I am currently just saving up money for the implants. I don't want to spend money to get them pulled and get dentures in the US first if I don't have to.
      Please let me know more about how your teeth were, and if you needed teeth pulled prior to going to Mexico. Please, I would appreciate it. ❤.

      Hi! It's tough to find a dentist anywhere you go - but you're right: it comes down to the questions you ask. Here's a video our Dr. Peyray put together of the top 3 questions he would as in a Dental Implant consultation: th-cam.com/video/lNtk7H9krSk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=LVOdqvo3Ofr2E9eg. Now when it comes to All on 4/6 vs 3 on 6, there's really no difference. All on 4 is generally easier to clean, as you can just blow out any debris with a Waterpik Waterflosser. But as long as the work is done well, there's not really any fundamental difference between All on 4 and 3-on-6. (Although, we're a fan of All on 4/6, because we feel that the load is more evenly distributed between the implants, making it easier on the jaw and the new teeth.)

    Confusing, did she have all the dental trouble abroad and went to Mexico with success and her happy final results? Doesn't "abroad" mean over seas in another country somewhere? I need dental work like hers too, but can't afford the outrageous prices in the USA and have no insurance. Mexico seems like the only option I have, but I have no idea who the good dentists are from the bad.

      Dalette went to a clinic in Cancun to have her initial implant procedure done, where she immediately began having issues (the implants were not good quality, and weren't placed properly.) After suffering with the agonized side effects, she came to My New Smile to have the implants removed and replaced by Dr. Peyray. In this case - Abroad just means in a foreign country. We made this video not to scare people away from seeking less-expensive treatment in foreign countries - but rather to just do your research and find an authentic and trusted doctor, wherever you go. Hope her story helps!

      @@frankmeyers7304 I must. mention, the cost of 6 crowns, an extraction, x-rays, deep cleaning, and consultation at my dentist without PPO insurance is $10,000! -Root canal would be referred to another provider - $1,700. In Mexico at SANI Dental Group my estimate is $2,083 for the above procedures, less if they can save the tooth from extraction. :)

      I would not say that. Because I am a victim of malpractice in Mexico and I could not even report the doctor for it. I tried to file a complain against dr Oscar Perna(Queretaro) and after I filled a lot of paper, giving them my personal information as well I was told I have to do it personally or I have to delegate somebody do represent me. Of course I have nobody to help me and I cannot just travel there to file a complain. Just for reference, I lost 3 out of 4 implants put by him last year in Aug. One of my friend lost 2 of her implants and my husband implants are despicable and he started to have gum disease and inflammation around his implant. He is from Venezuela and has no credentials to perform implants and he is still doing it. It seems that Mexican authority does not really care that this so called doctor is undermining their dental industry.

    She didn't provide enough details in her story. "I went abroad." Where did she go? "It was a mess." HOW? What specifically happened when she went abroad that made it "a mess"? Showing us a couple of photos doesn't help because most of your audience don't have periodontal training and therefore can't recognize what is wrong with the work. As a promotional video, this one is lacking....

    • @MyNewSmileDental
      @MyNewSmileDental  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well we try our best not to slander any specific offices for legal reasons - but that's also not the point of the video. The point of the video is to do thorough research and don't always look for the cheapest option. Thank you for the feedback though, we'll take it into account for future testimonial videos.

However, as I said, a few additional details would have helped us better understand why not to go the cheaper option.
