    In our quest for seeking out a more healthy and sustainable lifestyle, we made a plan that includes zero waste living, tiny home living and full-time travel. We considered buying an RV, looked at trailers and airstreams but settled on doing a bus conversion for our off-the-grid, tiny house on wheels. We bought a 1996 MCI 102 D3 coach bus and with the Bus Demolition and Interior Shell complete, we turned it into our Tiny Home on Wheels and are now traveling!

    Just returned from Los Algodones for full mouth restoration. I went where you folks filmed, the Mediplaza and SANI Dental Group. Stayed in the hotel Cielito Lindo and ate two meals at the restaurant Mi Casa Es Su Casa (a bit bummed that my oral surgery prevented eating for most of my stay). Some update on crossing into Mexico is that the Mexican government is improving their border facility. Expect to walk thru metal detector and have your luggage, bags and backpacks to go thru an x-ray machine. All that was being installed when I entered a week ago. I was there for 3 to 4 days and my suitcase was searched thoroughly, every zippered pocket opened and looked into. When I exited back to the USA I could see there'd been lots of progress with new concrete pours for the road and walkway into Mexico, so the work is moving along. I will be back there in six months to complete the dental work. By the way, tipping is important in shops down there. Carry plenty of $1 bills or coins. A pharmacy or shop worker is paid very little, tips are a big help.

    I say go to Algadones for your dental work. The Snow Birds or Snow Bunnies will be leaving in 3 weeks and the lines will disappear. Second option is to make your appointment for 8 or 9am and be in line to get back across the border by 11am. Third or last option, in my opinion, is to make a late afternoon appointment and come out around 5 or 6pm you will not have a line. I have been going to Algadones since I was a young girl for my dental work and lots of pharmacy medications. Thank goodness it's only 2.5 hours away from my home. 🌞👍

    Hi guys, l watch another youTube vlogger. His name is Daniel Hayes (realestate agent) from my home town Geelong Australia. He got on his Harley and rode from the USA all through Mexico. His youTube name is MDB (stands for million dollar bogan) and he seemed pretty safe. He also got his drone and took some amazing aerial shots. I think his main issue was the amount of tolls he had to pay. He also filmed the numerous speed humps he rode over. I think his highlight was the friendships and how amazing the community were. His bike got stuck a few times and each time he was rescued by the local people. I saw how he bought cut up mango with chilli sprinkled through it and l have made some and it is yummy.
    I love your vlog ❤️ you guys are absolutely amazing and such an inspiration. We are saving to purchase a bus and to start our journey. Your cats are just beautiful. Stay safe and look forward to seeing your next vlog 😊

    I have been going o Los Algodones for almost 30 years for dental work and eyeglasses. It has always been safe. Don't plan on spending the night there. There are hotels, but everything else closess at 4 pm. I have stayed overnight around Yuma AZ. I park on the US side and walk across the border. I have also stayed in Mexicali, then driven to Los Algodonnes in the morning. Plenty of nice low cost hotels and nice restaurants there. Major dental work is quick. Get prepared and measured one day; have the parts installed the next day.

      I used to live in Phoenix Arizona. So one time I went to Mexico,( Guadalajara) that's when I found the most beautiful woman that I am married. Then I move to Mexico. My first year here I was very scared... And today I laughing. because I'm more scared when I go back to United States. With a lot of shootings, gang members, homeless people in the streets, mortgage to high salaries too low... I'm glad that I mean my Mexican wife here in Mexico.

It definitely would cost more to drive in.

      Just apply for Global Entry online. Register your car and drive over there. Your Global Entry card will have a magnetic chip in it that will allow you to drive in to MX and more importantly to get back inside the U.S. much quicker! If you leave your car on the U.S. side, you cab walk over both borders. You can skip the line either way with G.E. I think that you also get TSA Pre Check in with G.E. too. I just renewed mine and received it in 3 wks.

    That's one thing that pops up all the time, the state of health care in the US. Coming from the UK, it switches a light on in my brain all the time. How can one of the richest countries in the world treat it's citezens thus ? It's abhorrent. Safe travels, kiddoes. ( I could'nt handle the hassle, like.)

    • @JustJoshinYouBro
      @JustJoshinYouBro 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      All rich countries treat their citizens like shit. The US is doing it by making us fend for ourselves and developing a monopoly ln dental and health work. China does it in the form of gunning down innocent protestors and arresting people based on religious beliefs and the UK just had a breaking story of how a cop was found innocent and lawful in a situation were she arrested and harmed a child with downsyndrom for making a remark about her being gay. I'd much rather be a US citizen and pay more for luxury and cosmetic privileges then lose the right to to say what's on my mind and carry my gun everywhere.

But I'm with you......that long line while you're anticipating customs and what they may or may not ask of you is quite a deterrent. Like Mela, my anxiety would be pretty high. The Healthcare system in the U S. Is pathetic, and embarrassing. I, like you, realized that you really can't get your news from what amounts to not much than a glorified place to play pharmaceutical ads. All flash, no substance. That's why I like TYT. Where in the U.S. do you mean? And where in Mexico do you live? I was born and raised here in the US, I have friends and family in various states across the entire country and none of us feel unsafe or have large amounts of crime in our communities. There are some impoverished and/or gang filled cities but that's not the case for most of the country. But when you go on the US travel advisory site and look up different Mexican states there is so much danger we are told to avoid certain states completely. We read about the cartel violence and the murdering of reporters who report on it. US citizens are caught and sometimes killed in crossfire at tourist spots in Mexico. We hear stories like the three American citizen women who were originally from Mexico who went to go sell clothing at a market in Mexico but never made it and never returned. Disappeared without a trace leaving grieving families here. I have a young female virtual Spanish tutor from Veracruz who explained to me that she can't walk alone at night because women are regularly kidnapped and killed and then people blame them for being out alone. I can't even imagine not going out after dark alone fearing for my life. She said on the news in Mexico they are constantly showing dead bodies and headless bodies from the violence there and was surprised we don't see that in American news shows.

      I have been living in Mexico for the past 5 years and I have to disagree that living in Mexico as a single female is unsafe! I live in Lake Chapala, Jalisco at present. I have also lived in Barra de Navidad, Manzanillo, Puerto Vallarta and Guadalajara. Like anywhere in the world, you must be aware of your environment, do not travel or walk alone in towns known for Cartel violence. I have felt safer here alone than when I lived in Chicago, New York, Cali and Florida! You don't just find Cartel gunning down people in 90% of Mexico, get TF outta here, unless you live here!

    We never haggle. We live here. It is not Mexican culture

      Interesting thanks Keira. They definitely haggle in Los Algodones. Perhaps it is purely because of the tourist culture in that area. Everybody is trying to get your business and all the competition is right there within a small distance. As you can see from the first pharmacy we walked into, as soon as we showed disinterest because the price was too high she offered a lower price. This was true for everywhere we went that day, we did not initiate it or know this was a thing there. I'm sure it is not that way all over Mexico but it was that way in Los Algodones.

    Absolutely not the time to go in Mexico except the resorts. I certainly won't go.

    Watch out for the fentynal laced prescriptions they are now selling there.
