I swear if I had it my way I would bless a few people a year with the best option out there. People just don't know what an effect ur teeth plays on ur whole life. Not just as far as eating and looking better but the mental and emotional strain as well. To all of us out there I wish nothing but the best!!
For those like me who say I wish I had taken better care of my teeth please listen to me, If bad teeth runs in the family, you can brush and floss all day you will still end up getting dentures.
Good hygiene is always a healthy way to prolong having your natural teeth. Yes some people are unfortunate to have the hereditary background for teeth problems. But if you are one of these people, don’t give up and stop taking care of your teeth. Infections are very dangerous and good hygiene can help prevent them. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I too considered the role of inheritance. I learned that the thickness of the enamel is inherited and that determines how well the enamel holds up to certain foods. Small jawbone plus early arrival of wisdom teeth can result in crooked, crowded teeth. But good oral hygiene is important for more than just preserving the health of one's teeth.
It can also have a lot to do with estrogen levels during pregnancy or things like insulin resistance and diabetes, all of which can have a genetic component. When doctors speak to their patients, they tend to leave out sharing the effects that certain conditions can have on your teeth, gums, and the production of saliva or even the PH in the mouth. Such things often aren't mentioned with it comes to side effects of medications either. SO MANY things can contribute to issues with teeth.
Implants have huge health risks in old age, as we lose bone mass and life expectancy grows longer. Especially for those with risk of osteoporosis, but it is a natural part of aging for everyone. See the casec9f famous American Actor Dick Van Dyke, who has lived into his 90s and suffered grave problems and excrutiating pain with his implants in old age.
You are right, we take precautions before taking on any cases. We always do a health analysis and blood work. We always want to make sure the possibility of great success for the patient. Thanks for watching!
@@implantsecrets What is your reply to the fact that implants have huge health risks in old age, as we lose bone mass and life expectancy grows longer? Especially so for those with risk of osteoporosis, but bone loss is a natural part of aging for EVERYONE. Will the bone implants come loose or shift, and cause pain or fractures? See the case of famous American Actor Dick Van Dyke, who has lived into his 90s and suffered grave problems and excrutiating pain with his implants in old age. I would like to know.
@@ana419 Very valid concern, There are a lot of factors that go into the treatment of implants. The biggest factor is the health of the patient. This is something that we can not count on. Yes it is true that an implant can become loose. This could be due to bone loss, which can be for underlying factors in the patients health, as well as from poor hygiene. (regular maintenance to your dentist for cleaning can help with this.) Pain could be caused from infections or allergy to the titanium. That being said, the American Dental Association and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, maintain that titanium-based dental implants are a safe and long-term solution for missing teeth however, suggests that patients with chronic illnesses, like diabetes, may not be suitable candidates for the implants. The AAOMS does not mention metal allergies or the potential for side effects from dental implants. I would ask your primary care doctor to do MELISA (Memory Lymphocyte Immunostimulation Assay) test to check for a titanium allergy before getting dental implants. I hope this helps.
@@implantsecrets Thank you. Yes, this helps. However, my main concern is EXCLUSIVELY about the natural bone loss that occurs in old age, as well as that process being accelerated in patients with osteoporosis. Life expectancy keeps expanding, so how are most of the thousands or millions today, being actively encouraged to get dental implants, going to be when the implants start coming loose from bone loss, between the excruciating pain and the damage to their bones? What remedies will there be for them if implants are permanent and irremovable, and even if they were removable, that their bones have become brittle, susceptible to fracture with age, and will not grow back? And associated risks (infections, organ damage from chronic painkillers and antibiotics, inoperability due to age, etc.) I am astonished that no dental professionals will directly address this ONE very obvious risk on the horizon of a patient's life. I keep getting answers that deviate or over-generalize.
I’m currently 53 & had nearly perfect teeth & gums up until the age of 40. Only had one small filling in my entire mouth & had my wisdom teeth pulled in my early 20’s. In the early fall of 2009, At around 6am I was riding my Harley into work on a somewhat windy country road. It was the sunrise following the full blood moon. Went around a tight blind corner & on the other side of the bend was an entire herd of deer. I had to make a split second decision to choose my pain, hopefully using the path of least resistance. I ended up going through a fence & landed in a ditch. I believe that decision saved my life that day. My only actual injury other than minor scrapes and bruises was to my face and mouth. I did not have the wind guard on my Harley so my face broke the top of the fence. I lost several teeth & broke & cracked all the remaining top teeth. Also had damage to a few of my lower teeth. My dental insurance from work was a complete joke. Paid 50% for basic extractions. Only covered Novocain, any other type of anesthesia like laughing gas I had to pay for in full. Since it was more important to me to provide a roof & proper food for my 2 daughters & I was a single parent who did not receive any child support. At my full time job I earned just over the cap so did not to qualify for any assistance. Suffered like that for approx 7 years. During that time I had a couple extracted due to severe abscesses that required over a week of antibiotics ahead of time before getting pulled. I had friends suggest to me I should quit my job or ask to be laid off or purposely get myself fired just so I could get at least some minimal repairs done. I refused to be that kind of role model to my kids. After both my daughters had become adults & moved out to their own homes I decided to get my class A license. Drive an 18 wheeler, see the entire country & get paid to do it. I saved up a nice tidy sum of $10k plus had one of the top plans with Delta Dental. Went to a dentist that actually was recommended to me by a few of my truck driver friends. I honestly thought The nightmare of my mouth was finally going to be over. The Dentist quoted me over $50k for the cheapest implants so I had to go with reg dentures. More appointments than I could count over a year & a half. Final result, after maxing out my insurance for both years & over $15k from me I had high end dentures that were never fitted right. They caused immediate severe pain as soon as they were in my mouth. The Dentist kept telling me that he could adjust them and they would eventually fit comfortably. After weekly appointments for the adjustments over almost almost 6 months I finally had to give up. Two years of my life & paid more money than I've ever saved in my entire life. Continued to wear the temporary dentures that were fitted the day of my major oral surgery. All my remaining top teeth & all the damaged bottom teeth were pulled. Years later I'm still using the temps doing a dyi realign every couple months. My mouth is in Constant pain. I always have sores somewhere in my mouth & ive Also developed CHEITIS that is so painful at times that I'm unable to eat. I also drool uncontrollably which is extremely embarrassing. My youngest daughters husband Refuses to even eat any meals with me because the state of my mouth and the way I have to eat grosses him out. My face now looks like I'm 10 years older than I am. What completely frustrates the hell out of me to the point of complete anger is not one dentist that does any ad for dental implants is actually willing to state any price ranges. I’m sick of hearing “come on into the office for a consult. I’ve even heard a few ads that excitingly states that thay have really dropped in price & still never actually give any price ranges whatsoever 🤬 I can't allow myself to get my hopes up again just to most likely be completely ripped off again & my mouth get even worse. If that is even possible. I'm actually glad I work as a truck driver So I spend over 90% of my time alone. Dentists that charge almost the same price for implants as someone will pay for a house to live in & make payments over 15+ years to pay off should be ashamed of themselves. No one I know could ever Come up with that kind of money to pay up front for a dental procedure That may or may not work for them. Dentistry should be considered a medical expense and covered under a persons medical insurance!!!
Trish I’m really sorry that you’ve had horrible experience with other dentists. Pricing is some thing that I have a whole little video about but I’ve been talking pricing openly for sometime now. Subscribe to my channel when I go live or because I talked about this often. My average price without any special consideration or agreement is 30k per jaw for zirconia. 25k for titanium. 20k for Snapin dentures. ❤️❤️❤️

Just like Wes Wayne, and because I'm a single Mama myself- I went to Affordpable Dentures and I was only able to afford the 2k dentures, but I'm beyond happy with them. Well the top denture fits like a glove and I've never liked adhesives so I've never been a fan of using them. Literally - I've had this set for 10 years and never used glue on the top and still people who have known me for years are shocked to find out that I've got dentures at all. The lowers have not been as kind, I do have to use an adhesive with the bottoms but I've grown used to it. I'd love to have implants since I'm only 38, but I'm just not comfortable spending that much money over that many years that I could end up regretting cuz I've never heard of a lifetime warranty for gany type of denture or implant. Best of luck to you, but maybe you could type up your story and make copies but include a request for pro Bono work or a discount in exchange for word of mouth advertising and/or before after pics to show their patients to drum up business. I had a friend who plead my case to a few doctors because everytime I was pregnant - my unborn child caused several vitamin deficiencies and I've had to have my mouth/teeth completely overhauled 3 times before opting for dentures this last time. Finally a dentist in the next town over agreed to revamp my smile right after my daughter was born but he agreed to do all the work for what my insurance would cover and a before and after photo release and he'd given me a stack of business cards to hand out. He was an old hippy and so generous!! Just ideas to look into. God bless
After consulting with a dental expert about the possibilities and hearing the prices, I realized they are indeed, just a dream. Seriously. The prices for these appliances are crazy. Just look at them! You would think that they were made of platinum or moon rocks and required something on the level of neurosurgery to justify the charges.
@@wayfordford4889 It is outlandish. I've had a fair amount of dental work done over the years, and the prices have just gone up and up over time. Even a cleaning was once $40, and now it's more like $200. It's not like the work is always guaranteed to last either. You can plunk down a thousand dollars easily, and end up needing more expensive work done on the same tooth a couple of years later. It's not like all dentists do quality work either. And no one has ever been able to explain why something so small as a crown or implant costs as it does. You would think that, as technology advances, things would become more affordable. I talked to one guy...he wanted $35,000 PER ARCH for full mouth dental implants. Anyhow, sorry about the rant. This has always been a sticking point for me- like the cost for college tuition! Maybe that's part of the problem- dentists have to go to expensive dental school. I hope that plate gives you many years of service. : )
@@wayfordford4889 I got quoted £6000 for top and bottom partial dentures - and that was 10 years ago. Needless to say I said no thanks and stuck with my NHS el cheapo dentures - which are still going strong.
@@jeanne819 I found the bottom denture to be good. It is a partial so I had some of my own teeth to hold it in place. My partials are long overdue to be replaced and one of my natural lower teeth has become loose so the partial can lift from time to time. It's the top partial I don't get on with so well as it covers the roof of my mouth. It's still a good fit though. Being honest, I only wear the partials when I'm eating or if I go out. As soon as I come home, in the denture bath they go. Implants were never a consideration. Too much bone loss and far too expensive (I'm in the UK) plus I'm the world's biggest coward when it comes to anything dental. You would think in this day and age with all the new materials available that they could come up with a better, more comfortable design that won't break the bank.

I have regular Dentures. I am so happy with them !!!! My teeth gradually got worse after having kids. Had to have some pulled. I finally decided to go to Dentures. I'm sooo glad I did. I can eat corn on the cob and apples. I haven't had to have mine realigned. Don't let a dentist talk u into expensive implants or drilling posts into ur jaw bone. To attach a denture. I am Very Satisfied with my Dentures and I don't use goopy putty to hold them in place. If u get a good fitting denture u will b so thankful u took the step into Dentures. No more spending lots of money on root canals , caps, fillings,or on partials. I went that route and finally had my teeth pulled and got Dentures. I wish I had before I spent thousands of dollars. I'm very happy with my plain old Dentures. Oh yeah. Don't believe that crap they tell u about Dentures block your tasting ur food. That's a lie !!!! Your taste buds r on your tongue !!! And ur tongue is not covered by your Dentures. I fully taste all my food , and sometimes I wish it didn't. That way I might loose some weight cause I wouldn't enjoy the taste of my food . But again I can fully taste everything I eat !!! And I truly enjoy it. So if ur teeth r bad, go to Dentures and u will b so happy u aren't dealing with tooth aches and dentists drills and spending thousands trying to save bad teeth. My dentist tried to talk me out of it too. But I was a money maker for him. Once I got my Dentures, he could not make thousands of dollars off me. If u feel u don't want to deal with bad teeth anymore don't let a dentist talk u out of it. I took the leap and so happy I did. The decision is yours.
me too I have upper and lower on 4 implant posts top and bottom. I can taste great and not a lot of problems except adjustments in the beginning. I am now looking to replace 13 year old worn dentures. Yes over the years I had repairs due to cracks from eating ice or nuts or something and eventually your jaw shrinks so the fit changes. You can reline yourself with over the counter products. I knew nothing about zirconia or other stuff my old dentures were very nice but now I will look into less old school approach they had back in 2009 when I had top and bottom teeth extracted. It was not that big of an ordeal but fear of course was a big issue. I did have some kind of sedation which put me out of it for the extractions. Many dentists now specialize in sedation.
I've never understood why so many people make fun of those who "need" false teeth, but usually those same people have nothing bad to say about those who "want" something like breast implants. 🤔 May Karma be swift and give them a toothache! Sadly most people who need false teeth usually live paycheck to paycheck.

Give it a while, right now you are just happy to be able to eat the food you use to eat. Once that happyness passes you will start to notice that the food nolonger has the same falvors it had before the dentures. It took me 9 months before I was able to notice the loss of the taste of the food due to the dentures.

3 years ago I became very sick and couldn’t eat. I have come a long way getting my health and life back and I do thank God for that but one of the hardest thing I’ve had to deal with is the loss of most of my teeth. I spend most of my time trying not to smile although I have so much to smile about. I keep looking and searching for an option and your video was so full of helpful information. I normally never comment on videos but just had to say something. Thank you
Valuable information. My mom had temporary acrylic and she hate it, tar from food resided at the base of the teeth and she could not remove it during brushing. She now has teeth made of zirconia and she is very pleased with it. The teeth made of zirconia are much more expensive and heavier than acrylic but they are sharper to cut the food, have no black spots at the base of the teeth, and are easy to clean. It is important to find a good lab.
I am in the process of implants on my upper on 6 with a sinus lift. About how much are the upper zirconia snap in`s? I will have to do the lowers at a later date because of the cost. The complete work on the upper is going to take 14 months.
Great video. I made my own dentures with a 30.00 kit I got from Florida. Only paid 150.00 to the local denturist for the lost wax portion. Five years ago now. Have only had them realigned once.
Yes I am getting little creative myself. I don’t have the talent to make my own set. I found on Etsy sellers that make dentures. I do my impression kit at home send it back. Then they send me full set for $200. I still have not had all my teeth pulled yet. My husband is disabled so this is what I can afford. In few years I probably will get better set. I am going to be able to smile again. I can’t wait.

The problem with the titanium is yes, they are super strong but that’s also something that’s bad about it, the way my surgeon explained it to me is that if you bite down on something super hard with the titanium it’s going to rip the whole implant and break the bone and won’t be replaceable. But with the acrylic teeth they’re made to break on purpose because it’s much better than if you are going to break some thing By biting down too hard it’s better to break a replaceable acrylic tooth rather than breaking all the bone in your face is the actual implant is!
It's about 8000 dollars in my country. It's about a year worth of monthly wages. If you don't have your own home and pay rent, you will have a very hard time getting that money together fast enough. Probably have to work for a while without teeth.
Yea, it would be nice to have fifteen grand to work with. Clear Coice wanted $33,000 for a full upper and a lower partial implant and $15,000 up front? See ya in the next life.

Its true that all-on-x is usually the best solution for patients. But here are some advantages of a removable denture: 1. Much cheaper than all-on-X. A removable can cost around 2-5K per arch. All-on-X can cost around 15K-20K. If you get both upper and lower, its around 30-40K. If you get a denture from dental school, you can get a good one for less than a grand. 2. A lot easier to clean. You have use a special floss to clean an All-on-X bridge, and that's only if the all-on-x was designed well to be cleanable. Implants also have to be cleaned religiously by the patient, almost more than you would with real teeth. With all-on-X, you must come in every year to have it removed and cleaned by the dentist. 3. You could have irritation/allergic reaction, but you won't get anything like a gum disease. Implants are notorious for developing infection because the rough metal is a perfect shelter for bacteria. Implant specialists would like to say that implant success rate is 95%. That is very misleading, because they are talking about implants that don't "completely fail". In reality, implants often have problems and complications, as often as around 45% of patients who received implants have at least one complication in a given year: "Derks J. J Clin Periodontol. 2015 Apr;42 Suppl 16:S158-71." If you replace a denture, you pay about 2K or less. If you replace an implant, its about the same price. But that is just one implant. If you replace 2 implants, thats around 3-4K. Also a few corrections: 1. Most of your taste buds are on your tongue, soft palate, and throat. Only a very few are present on the hard palate, which is what the removable denture covers. You wouldn't have a lot of difficulties tasting really, its more of just discomfort due to the acrylic covering the palate. 2. Implants do not prevent bone loss. It only slows it down by a large extent. In the long run, if you can afford it, I would recommend getting an all-on-x. But not everyone can afford it, and patients should be given all of the information they need to know, including the hygiene methods, advantages of a removable, possible complications of implants, and the future projected costs of taking care of removable vs implants. They deserve to know to make the right decision for themselves.
Thanks for the in depth feedback and comment! All on x is definitely the best solution, but a denture is for sure better than nothing if someone cannot afford the procedure. We make sure to give all of the options and information in our consultations to each patient as each situation is unique.

@@jesuslovesyou8280 I don't know if you'd been fortunate enough to get some dentures yet, but there is kits that you can buy online to make your own at home, and video's on you tube to show you how. the kits run around $100.00. there your basic denture, and will save you several hundred dollars. the kits come with everything you need, and are a true dental appliance. not just cosmetic. they're very much the same as to what many people have already. However, if you can afford to let a professional dentist set you up. you should be better off. most of them make a mold, then create a wax denture, you come back in a week or so after your mold is made, then they try them in your mouth for a fitting. when you have them fit perfect, and you're happy with how they look. they send to to a company that takes the wax denture, and create a true denture for you. the dentist can then readjust as needed when getting the final fitting. I have Ivoclar’s Phonares teeth in my hybrid and not only do they look real, they feel real compared to what I previously had. The teeth are sharp, rather than rounded and dull like my previous teeth. I’ve also never broken a tooth off in these. I do have a titanium bar, as well. But zirconia are amazing.
@@implantsecrets This is great info but for most of the world it’s just a pipe dream. I live with this issues, Im a domestic violence survivor living with multiple medical conditions, Lupus, thalassemia, doctors now saying I may have been misdiagnosed & I have MS… kidney disease, the list goes on,and some of my conditions are the direct result of the abuse I endured. My point is, my teeth have suffered because of this all. I was in a motorcycle accident, dragged 85-90 feet down the road pinned under a Harley,my head,& the entire left side of me bounced and dragged down the road that whole way.I was spitting out teeth, though I lost half my face. Yet my insurance wouldn’t help me even cover caps. It’s hard enough trying to rebuild your life when you escape a severely traumatic relationship, but when it’s also left you scared it’s almost impossible to find yourself again. Just wondering if you guys, or if you guys know of any dentists in the entire country, because I’d travel, who offer payment plans? For the All-on-4? Anything to help have a normal life again. Thank you so much for your time. 🙏🏻

Oh wow! I’m in Denver- my 4 on 4 posts, including complete tooth removal, bone marrow implant & shaving my upper mouth- is upwards of $80K for full procedure. It’s been over 7 weeks; my pulled teeth still throb, under my temporaries-I can’t sleep, exercise, or even hv an appetite. I feel yet again let down by the very best “rated/reviewed “ docs in our greater area. I’m steaming. I wasn’t offered these options. Grrr
There is absolutely NO justifiable reason for this ridiculous cost. I can buy a CAR for EACH of my four teenage grandchildren for the same cost. Tell me how that makes sense. I'm sorry you are having trouble. This world is not right. Not once have I seen one of these doctors justify the outrageous expense. Not once.
Thanks for this info. However, I hope you do relay the info to your patients that even with the best of implants... Bone still deteriorates, and all those thousands spent on posts in their mouths, may just have to come out if they continue to have bone loss. Also, the body can reject anything implanted, so there are risks.
I lost my teeth and right arm due to a flesh eating virus. I'd love to have some implanted or attached teeth but am 68 and on a very low retirement pension. Congratulations to those who can afford new teeth. Blessings to those who can afford solutions and to the doctors who make it possible.
@Jim Yeates Why not do GoFundMe I’ve seen a lot of people do it for things like this and BS stuff. Especially after sharing your story! People would help.
I'm saving about 6,000 dollars by having dental work done at a training facility...and they are very careful about doing a great job. I would recommend this option to people on a lower budget.
I was so proud of myself not having had a cavity since my late 20's or early 30's and not having any missing teeth (many of my peers had a lot of missing teeth early on). When I got to my mid 60's I began to have bone loss. Little by little my teeth fell out on their own, one by one until I was left with only three teeth. This is all on my uppers. My bottom teeth are still in and very strong with no detected bone loss. For the past 2 1/2 years I have been wearing a bridge but, I know that soon those last 3 teeth will give in. I am not happy with the thought of dentures but, it is what it is. I would have loved to have implants but, with bone loss that's impossible, so I have been told, and it makes sense. So I am now just having a mental debate on what to do and what choices to make when that time comes.
Im Sorry ... Plus side is the top dentures are ok . It's the bottoms that fall out and pop out when you talk eat yell or sing. Well the whole process is super tough . I do understand what your going through .
Myrna, there are many options with bone augmentation nowadays! I am a practicing prosthodontist in the Netherlands and do these surgeries several times per week, working specifically with clients who have bone loss. It is complicated, for sure, but not all hope is lost. I've done full reconstructions with significant bone loss prior to the augmentation and many have been very successful. It is possible ;) Best of luck to you!
My mother was in the same and close to 60 grand later his has new upper her bottoms r fine. It was more because of bone grafts. If you go to mexico its around 20 grand for your whole mouth
After orthodontistry at 13 years old requiring the loss of four good teeth my current teeth are now just as crooked as before and pretty off white. If I smile it looks like I have a missing tooth thanks to a broken one. I look after my teeth and haven't had a filling since I was 18 years old. My mother at 90 has all her teeth so I hope I have her genetics. Watching this has made me appreciate my teeth even though they are ugly. A least I don't have the problem of what is in this video to contend with.
I've had dentures for 20 years and I taste food very well. I'm happy with my dentures. I've been lucky enough to never have had any adjustments on them. This video is trying to scare you away from dentures to the more expensive product.
We're glad you're so content with your dentures! As you can imagine, we mostly see patients who have not adapted well to dentures, so we often hear the other side, people who are in pain or uncomfortable. Thanks for watching!
I’m with you I have Dentures to and taste all of my food and eat what I want. That implant procedure is more than 30,000 I don’t want to spend that kind of money...
dentistry nowadays has moved from promoting better health in teeth to marketing aesthetically pleasing tooth. that's why "implant" with nail on became a thing. its a fake tooth anyway? why does it cost over a bomb?
I'm on set six from 5 different denturists. Not one pair has fit. I gave up and dremel'd my current pair to shape and lined the with thermo to make an accurate direct impression. The set isn't awesome, but at least they partially sit in my mouth now.
I'm a retired dental hygienist and I would suggest that people who are still working and have some dental insurance consider this as a long-term strategy: If you're told you need a root canal, ask the dentist if an implant and crown could be done instead. A tooth with a root canal becomes brittle over time, will need a crown to prevent breakage, and very well still may break eventually. I saw this many times during my career. That will necessitate a buildup and crown and maybe a redo of the root canal. That's if there's enough tooth left for it to be saved. Consider proactively looking into replacing that tooth with an implant and crown. For people who were not blessed with good teeth, this may prepare them to more easily move into implant-supported dentures later on in life. It would cost more initially but in the long term would save money, time, and discomfort.
Crowns are trouble caus3rs. U cannoT keep the rtooth nub iyt is glued to clean enuf and u get plaque. Decay. It doesn,t show on the ck.up xrays. Avoid crowns. They need to be removable. They only have a life of 1 decade did u know?
@Bonnie Brown Thank you for that suggestion, you're and Angel, yes I had have crowned and lost the filling and tooth just chipped away! When I was young first pregnancy, I was vomiting for 7 month, and couldn't swallowed my saliva, made me vomit, so going to sleep had to put candy both side of mouth so I can swallow my saliva and slept! Those candies have consequenses !
Wish my dentist understood this. I had an eating disorder for a decade and destroyed my teeth. He is SO determined to do root canals and crowns and has done 2 already. Theres 1 or 2 more due. We've already extracted two back molars for implants after braces. He adjusted my bite and I've been having insane sensitivity to cold. I can't chew well at all. And honestly all this is making me regret going in. My teeth hold me back so much. And I just want to eat normally, but im so afraid of ending up in dentures.
Robert Terrill I can certainly relate! Root canals, crowns after years of fillings etc.and breakage...Most out of pocket, and when unable, suffering with abscesses. Dentists did not take payments, and public health options pulled teeth only. The U.S. System of "health care" ignores the extreme importance of dental health.
@@screeningmimi I'm currently living with a person who is suddenly losing most of his teeth due to a medical condition. He's only 30 years old. He's going to get the bad dentures, that is all we can afford. Years of heavy saving would maybe compensate all-on-four dentures. The prices are ridiculous in my country, and there is no insurance for anyone beyond 19 years old. Medical conditions that break your teeth may give you 20 dollars of dentist credit a year. That surely helps a whole lot :D

1- complete acrylic upper dentures are very well tolerated when made correctly, easily 80%+ people will manage just fine with one - a lower is different and a complete lower denture will likely be poorly tolerated and implants would be recommended by me also 2- the bone will resorb the same regardless of whether implants are present or not, only bio implants can prevent this which are still experimental so that point is irrelevant 3- taste is barely affected by covering the palate there are no taste buds on the palate, some people get a strong plastic taste but most don’t, and a cobalt chrome base can be used if the thickness or taste of the acrylic is an issue This is clearly a video designed to upsell the most expensive prosthetics and as a general rule start with the most minimal treatment that is usually the cheapest and see if you can manage before spending very large sums of money
Thank you Harry, Very good information. I do not try to upsell the most expensive, but I definitely encourage what I believe have the best results and keep the patients happy. With the zirconia choice, you don't have teeth that pop off or cracks or broken device. With regular maintenance and cleaning, any of these options can make anyone happier then having no teeth or infections. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Yes this is a video for the rich and to make everyone else feel like shit because they don't have $25,000 or more laying around or in their cookie jar. PLAIN and simple. This guy is a joke.
@@patriotcountry4716 Tsk, c'mon - that is certainly not his intent, and he is not a joke. Dr. H helpfully presented the pros and cons of each approach; one of the best and most thorough presentations that I've seen. I agree that dental prosthetics are exorbitantly expensive, but Dr. H isn't responsible for how much these things cost.
@@patriotcountry4716 It is expensive to get the best solution but the difference is amazing. I went from upper and lower dentures which I hated for all of the reasons explained to having 6 implants upper and lower with zirconia in London. It cost me £23,000/$31,000 and for the price of a car it's changed my life.
Really good video. There’s so many of us struggling, just to get help, or maybe like me, just don’t live life to the full, and keep myself to myself, so people can’t see my teeth🦷
I'm 60 years old and I had to get my teeth out about 3years ago bc my medicine ruined my teeth. So the dentist had a top plate denture made, when his office called and had me to come bk in he just stuck that denture in my mouth and there was nothing happening he put some denture stuff on and shoved it in my mouth. he said go home and work with it to get it to stay in my mouth. That cost was a $1000 dollars. Still got that upper denture under my bathroom cabinet... his office never called me about coming in for a bottom plate. So I was embarrassed to go around anybody and I still am so I spend 90% of my life in my apartment do to having no teeth and my health.... so evertime I go out I have to wear my mask do to my heart and my lungs... so someday I will go to a different dentist and get me some dentures ....
I liked your analogy with the printer ink and the maintenance of snap in over-dentures, I was thinking of going down that route, but I shall now have a re-think. And thanks for explaining the difference between acrylic and zirconia dentures. ( all on 4 ).
I'm living the snap-in reality, and I get my retention caps replaced annually. $60. yearly. My ACTUAL printer ink costs me more than that. I'm in my 4th year with the snap-ins and honestly, if I could afford a BMW, I'd buy the zirconia option. But I drive a Honda for a reason. C'est la vie.
I appreciate your honesty by publishing this video. By reading all the comments makes me really sad that so many unsatisfied people (not your clients🙏🏼💕🙏🏼) who had gone through this process. They spent a load of hard working money yet they have to live with that burden unhappily 😢😢 I was looking forward for this process and I’m not sure if I want to put myself in this never ending struggle & pain 🥺🥺
Have had same upper and lower dentures for 10 years..still stay in without adhesive. I agree, though, that it does change your face somewhat..kind of lowers my cheeks (difficult to explain), but doesn't bother me as I'm not very vain.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge ..your understanding of the person and the material that goes into it.. you truly uphold what a medical practitioner supposed to be!
The problem is not “needs” or “wants” it’s cost. I have many medical issues with my spine alone and then my teeth started breaking. All of my issues started after gastric bypass which I only chose to do because I was literally dying. I was told if I didn’t have the surgery I would die in a year. My triglycerides alone was over 1200 and no matter how much weight I lost on my own none of my numbers were improving. So there I was 4 years out from surgery I was doing great I was getting my steps in everyday working with a personal trainer and I lost 9 sizes but I was starting to faint a lot, I failed a tilt table test and then I started with debilitating spine issues. So every year since surgery I had to go back in for exploratory surgery to see what was wrong. We found my calcium and vit d levels were very low regardless of how much I took each day. So last December I had to have a spinal fusion in thee lumbar area then a few months later had to have all my teeth removed and now I am not only sitting in immediate dentures I am looking needing further spine surgery as I cannot move but also getting dentures, would love to have the “Mercedes” of dentures but just not affordable at all. And I am only 45 and my doctor has deemed me “permanently” disabled. And on top of disc degenerative disease in my whole spine I am also a few numbers from osteoporosis. So no some of us do not have any options when it comes to what would be best with tooth replacement, and by all means I am not blaming you for that. Great video though very informative and everything my doctor has explained to me as well. And by all means I’m not trying to discourage anyone from any weight loss surgery, I knew the risks and I just fell into the very small percentage of things that go wrong. But without it I would have never got to hold my first grandchild, my grandson is the apple of my eye, I have not been able to pick him up and hold him since he was 2. But overall it was worth it.

@Bxman53 People I've worked with were going to South America to have their dental work done because it was so much cheaper and the dental work was excellent.
@Bxman53 I did just that! They worked on my teeth for 2 days. I was given the best treatment, and cried with happiness when I looked in the mirror! That was in 2007 an only $1,500. Now it looks like I'll have to have the whole lot all pulled out! That's why I'm looking at this Video.
@@ascher40 i wouldn't get everything pulled if i was you. These implants are no way near as good as real teeth. Also you can go out of the country to get them done. However when you have issues, where are you going to get that done. Because you're going to have issues with these implants.
Buying a commodity that’s “standardized” in a another country makes sense but this isn’t a commodity. It’s something that can have so many complications in the short run but most importantly complications in the long run. When these complications arise, returning back to the country is very inconvenient as well as the fact that they aren’t held to the same standard as here in the USA. They aren’t obligated to modify, repair or fix problems. Where would you turn in this unfortunate situation? What makes it further frustrating is that most dentists don’t like to build on others work. I would never want to build on an implant that hasn’t gone through the testing and approval from governing bodies. It’s so much more complicated than most would understand. Yes, it’s More expensive here in America but here in America you have rights that protect you as a consumer..laws and regulations that protect you against doctors using cheap materials that last a few years and then need replaced.
I have needed these since I was 20 but I'll never be able to afford it unless we get with the program and put dental care on health insurance policies that we should have ages ago. Thanks for the info though. More to dream about. lol
I lost all but 7 of my teeth due to cancer and cancer treatments and I’m sure that I will lose them as well. NO dentures work for me. The dentists that works with me say that my gums aren’t “ long enough” and therefore not enough gums to hold a denture in place. Dental implants are my only hope and I absolutely cannot afford them. I understand that doctors deserve to be paid well, but there should be a cap to many procedures as well as the price you pay for medicines. I am also a professional singer, but not a superstar. My life depends on my work and I cannot sing without my teeth.

I wish there would be a way to completely eliminate tooth decay. I have to work hard for my money. I live through the pain of abscesses. I just cant afford their multi- million dollar homes.
So, when people do NOT take care of their mouths/teeth and suffer the consequences, then it’s time to blame Dentistry for perceived high costs. It’s funny that somehow most folks will go out and purchase a new car which nowadays costs over 30K, but have a fit when they see the costs involved in trying to obtain what they’ve lost from years of neglect. It costs a whole lot of money to get through college and then dental school and then a ton of money to equip a dental office as well. Overhead in dentistry is large and it costs a lot to run a dental practice. It is difficult work and often not really appreciated due to a lack of value for what modern Dentistry has to offer. DDS

Dentist here. I disagree about cost of relines. Overdenture on snap-ons is the easiest to keep clean, especially for seniors with declining dexterity. Zirconia, being the hardest "can take so much more pressure". If the terminal brunch is too strong the breakdown moves to a higher level: sore muscles, TMJ, opposing teeth wear etc. The amount of build up under the screw-retained denture is big, especially for people whose oral hygiene was low to start with (that's how they loose teeth). One professional removal of screwed denture will be more expensive than a reline. Good visual presentation. Thank you. But the advice has to always be customized to each individual.

Question; does the Titanium contain ANY Nickle ? I’m asking because there are reports of people who have Metal Allergies & after getting these Dentures containing metal ( the reports don’t list ALL the metals that are used) they are having serious problems with repeat infection/allergic reactions & that it’s due to 1or more of the metals used to create the implants/dentures. Many people, myself included, have allergic reactions to Nickel ( think cheap jewelry) & other metals, many people are unaware they even have a metal allergy. So, in the samples you are showing here do any of them contain Nickel ? Also I would appreciate it if all Dentists would advocate for better Dental Health Insurance & more affordable prices as they would get a better response from Congress than the average citizen. We’ve done our part by contacting all our government representatives, Now it’s the Dentists turn to advocate for us, after all we are the ones providing you with a very very generous income.
There have been small traces of nickel found in titanium surgical implants, Nickel allergic patients may develop hypersensitivity reactions due to this nickel content. Under certain circumstances, these small amounts may be enough to trigger allergic reactions in patients. Fortunately we haven't had any patients experience this.
@@implantsecrets I have been considering doing this and my Periodontist requires a physical and EKG ,,dont know if you guys do that but why on earth would you or they also not demand a metal allergy test ? thanks

I'm currently researching dentists in Mexico for the All-on-4s. My brother got dentures there many years ago - They look great and he's still happy with them although I'm sure he'd rather have implants too.
If you're going in somewhere for a consultation, here are the top 5 questions we recommend asking your Implant Provider: th-cam.com/video/fhbpdSTGiZE/w-d-xo.html Thanks for watching, and don't forget to subscribe!
When I finally decided to do something about my misaligned bite I asked my dentists about all-on-4. They insisted it would get things stuck underneath and that I should go for all molars crowned and veneers on the front to match. Either way would have been expensive but crowns and veneers were double. I did as they recommended. I’m still paying the credit card bill, and will be for a total of 8 years.
As of 2018 approximately, 4 on 4 is being totally, rightfully replaced. You would get 'stuff' underneath. Cleanable, maybe with 'Waterpik/& Time'. That's After paying 10K $. For That much, IT is all Implants, now. Dentists are Salespersons too! Plus, they Have One at a Huge disadvantage, lying there, helpless...watching 'Dentists' perfect teeth going Up down, Up down....Never stopping, cause You have a 'tool' in yer mouth enforcing Silence.
I think this dentist is giving the ‘hard sell’, without telling people of the drawbacks. I had a consultation for which I was charged £275 in 2020. The report was astounding. If anything went wrong subsequently, I would be charged £200 an hour and I don’t know how many hours! Also I had to see a hygienist every 3 months, if my memory serves me right and they charged £76 per session for this. There may have been other charges. Just for two implants (with a pig's bone surgery as there was not enough original bone structure), the bill was phenomenal. The whole procedure was long winded and full of pitfalls, and NO GUARANTEES WHATSOEVER! Ever since, I have kept far away from entertaining any further thoughts of implant surgery.
I went to a implant dentist and was told $72,000! How do these people sleep at night?! I’m going Monday for snap in dentures for the upper and my cost after what insurance pays is $4,200! And this includes a crown and one implant. Affordable Dentures!!
I had squamous cell carcinoma in my tonsil on the left side. With the radiation that I have been through, 35 rounds, i’ve come to the understanding that implants are not the best solution for me. I’ve been told that drilling into my bone tissue would be a bad idea because of the healing process. I don’t think I have a choice but to get dentures, so I guess my question is, is there a denture on the market that has a slight cut away so that you can reveal more of your taste buds?
Thanks Adrine, yes they have. We wish more people were more honest with how often dentures will need to be adjusted and the lifelong cost of them ends up being way more than people are often led to believe.
My Dad is 80 something and had 4 in the bottom and 4 in the top. He has a very strong jaw, healthy mouth and has raved about how he loves having dentures that are securely anchored to the bone. His system has some problems with disassembly but he still has healthy gums and his dentures function for eating. He paid top dollar for experimental dentistry and if you get good hardware and have no allergies to materials you will be very happy with the result. One thing the dental industry should do though is have a standard attachment hardware so that no matter where you go you can get appliances that are compatible.
I know I need implants, but I can't afford them on medicare. Myself I believe that dentures should be done away with and implants should be the only thing available. We all are equal and poor people should be able to get the same service as a rich person. So please help me show some compassion and help me and others like me. You may also lead me to a dental school where they may service me with little to no cost. Please help!!!
Amen! I'm on disability which may as well be nothing. Medicare doesn't cover anything. I lost my teeth in a car accident 20 years ago and it's so tormenting. I think it's a sin there is nowhere to go or is impossible to get implants. I can't even eat anymore because they won't stay in. In this day and age, dentures should be obsolete... Implants should be the new denture. They pay pennies on the dollar for the materials so why are they charging 60, 000 dollars.?!
@@implantsecrets I'm sorry to be less than thrilled about that, and I don't mean to sound like a B.. But financial options are still not for people like myself, on disability and a fixed income. Still have to have 1/2 down to start.. And Care Credit..!! Haha forget that.. Impossible to get approved for anything. We are too far advanced for dentures to still be in use. I've had mine for 20 years due to a car accident and it's literally tormenting. They don't fit at all anymore, my bone loss is massive I literally can't eat and suffering from being malnourished causing sever fatigue let alone depression. Implants should be the new norm for dentures in this day and age. God Bless you
@@implantsecrets and I'm sorry.. But until you've gone through it. You really can't emphasize. I prayed and told God if He provided a way for me to get the work I need need done with the implants.. That I would be the biggest advocate for people with little to no money and dental care
The cost of all on 4 dentures here in Australia 🇦🇺 are around $27,000 for each denture. That's why alot of people here travel overseas to get the work done. It is a complete rip off here in Australia.
I am in the middle of an all-on-6 process, I've had the teeth removed and I am now healing. I've watched your argument for zirconia and watched others argue against the weight of zirconia and they also say that they CAN break easily under the wrong conditions. I haven't received the abutments yet but wonder how much your zirconia arches cost.
Can I ask you how much it cost you? Also when you say “all on 6” is that the kind that are considered “permanent” dentures where they snap into place? Also are you having top and bottom done?
I was quoted around $34k for a full mouth restoration. Full upper all on 4 bridge and full lower all on 4 bridge. Have been very depressed trying to figure out how the hell I was going to pay for it! I can’t even eat food that’s harder than bread. It’s not only extremely embarrassing the judgement I get from my teeth but my health has been horrible and I miss eating even just an apple! So depressing! I’m currently in the process of making an appointment in Mexico where I’ll be getting everything I need for $10k!!!!! Only wish I knew years ago 🥺
@@andyward8430 I am having both arches, top and bottom. $31K was the cost for removal of the last 14 teeth, bone grafts, sinus lift, abutments, and of course both arches.
Great video! This video has convinced me that I will not be getting dentures at all. So THANK YOU! I will be customizing my diet to soups, stews, smoothies, etc., making sure that I get super good nutrition. This video has saved me a lot of money on useless dentures!
I swear if I had it my way I would bless a few people a year with the best option out there. People just don't know what an effect ur teeth plays on ur whole life. I completely agree!! It’s so unaffordable for most people 😢 and it makes a huge difference in our lives
I wish i could be blessed to fix my teeth, i work 60hrs a week taking care if my family. I forgot what smiling feels like😕
Well, we would all get implants if you guys wouldn't charge as much as an automobile for them. Your prices are insane!
Thank you.
And chemo destroys the teeth. First hand knowledge talking.
They need to make implants more affordable for everyone in the world.. everyone deserves to feel confident in themselves 💕
And associated risks (infections, organ damage from chronic painkillers and antibiotics, inoperability due to age, etc.)
I am astonished that no dental professionals will directly address this ONE very obvious risk on the horizon of a patient's life.
I’ve even heard a few ads that excitingly states that thay have really dropped in price & still never actually give any price ranges whatsoever 🤬
I can't allow myself to get my hopes up again just to most likely be completely ripped off again & my mouth get even worse.

You would think that they were made of platinum or moon rocks and required something on the level of neurosurgery to justify the charges.
m 35 just hd a partial plate put in 'standard denture' that was 2 grand alone
@@Pythonaria hi do you have a denture on the bottom ? If so, how is it ?
We see a lot of progress in dentistry; the only problem is only a few people can afford the cost.

Dentistry is as expensive as getting any kind of surgery these days. Why Don't dentist lobby to have coverage built into medical insurance?
What Dentist did you go to?
Dentures for me are in no way better than my all on 4
me too I have upper and lower on 4 implant posts top and bottom.

Then they send me full set for $200. I still have not had all my teeth pulled yet. My husband is disabled so this is what I can afford. In few years I probably will get better set. I am going to be able to smile again. I can’t wait.

I have worked in the dental field, and had lots of personal experience with dentures due to cancer treatment. This of course has left me with little money left. So when I had to have a full mouth extraction, and my bone & body was not physically able to handle more surgery, I ended having to get instant full mouth dentures. And I had the best oral surgeon, lab, and dentist do the work. Healing has been long and painful. But I wish I would have been able to get implants. But I have to say, this video explains everything very well. Great job!

Hopefully people will be able to get it done with the cost of just one kidney instead of both
Lol
It's about 8000 dollars in my country. It's about a year worth of monthly wages. If you don't have your own home and pay rent, you will have a very hard time getting that money together fast enough. Probably have to work for a while without teeth.

I lost most of my teeth from domestic violence. I had such a beautiful smile and metal braces for four years. I brushed a lot always had dental floss on hand. I hope one day to be fortunate enough to have a nice smile again. Thank you for sharing this video.
You’re welcome Cheryl I’m sorry to hear about your abuse. We would love to meet you someday and hear your story. Thank you for watching!
I saw program for women who were victims of domestic violence. That restores their smile for them. For free I am sorry I can’t remember the name of it. My husband was verbally abusive not physically. You deserve beautiful confident smile. Try Google and see if you can type in. Democratic violence and smile restoration. Or call domestic violence support group or another organizations. That do things like that. I am really sorry that I can’t remember the name.
Its true that all-on-x is usually the best solution for patients. But here are some advantages of a removable denture:
Also a few corrections:

@@implantsecrets Hello I have lost all of my teeth 🦷. How much are the best dentures? Also can I make payments? Thank you very much. Blessings Robert.
A dentist will usually charge between $700.00 to $11,000.00.
I hope this information helps, Peace..

Thank you!!! Well said
Crowns are trouble caus3rs. U cannoT keep the rtooth nub iyt is glued to clean enuf and u get plaque. Decay. It doesn,t show on the ck.up xrays. Avoid crowns. They need to be removable. They only have a life of 1 decade did u know?

Wish my dentist understood this. I had an eating disorder for a decade and destroyed my teeth. He is SO determined to do root canals and crowns and has done 2 already. Theres 1 or 2 more due. We've already extracted two back molars for implants after braces. He adjusted my bite and I've been having insane sensitivity to cold. I can't chew well at all. And honestly all this is making me regret going in. My teeth hold me back so much. And I just want to eat normally, but im so afraid of ending up in dentures.
I wish I had all the money I spent over the last 20 years on crowns, partials and other dental work, then I could afford good dentures.

Dental care should be affordable for everyone
1- complete acrylic upper dentures are very well tolerated when made correctly, easily 80%+ people will manage just fine with one - a lower is different and a complete lower denture will likely be poorly tolerated and implants would be recommended by me also
2- the bone will resorb the same regardless of whether implants are present or not, only bio implants can prevent this which are still experimental so that point is irrelevant
3- taste is barely affected by covering the palate there are no taste buds on the palate, some people get a strong plastic taste but most don’t, and a cobalt chrome base can be used if the thickness or taste of the acrylic is an issue
This is clearly a video designed to upsell the most expensive prosthetics and as a general rule start with the most minimal treatment that is usually the cheapest and see if you can manage before spending very large sums of money

The references to "financing options" should be a clue. Like in the price range of a car. No wonder most prospective medical students are moving into dentistry and particularly cosmetic dentistry.
@Bxman53
People I've worked with were going to South America to have their dental work done because it was so much cheaper and the dental work was excellent.
@Bxman53
I did just that!
Thank you for explaining the differences ... I don't know why so many other dentists have to present it like some complicated magical mystery.

😫😫😫 I felt this
So, when people do NOT take care of their mouths/teeth and suffer the consequences, then it’s time to blame Dentistry for perceived high costs.

Agreed. Their are few absulutes and every patient needs a customized treatment.

?
There have been small traces of nickel found in titanium surgical implants, Nickel allergic patients may develop hypersensitivity reactions due to this nickel content. Under certain circumstances, these small amounts may be enough to trigger allergic reactions in patients. Fortunately we haven't had any patients experience this.

I'm currently researching dentists in Mexico for the All-on-4s.
