unlucky mate but its not over.Honestly as much as this is a challenge, this is a perfect opportunity to showcase the ability of a repair shop. If people can see them repair that, essentially they will see they can repair anything. Those same viewers may bring their cars to them because they have seen the quality of their work and how they are. This car already has half a million views. I can only assume there will be more in the long run and if people like tavarish, richrebuilds and samrac are anything to go by, repairing the unrepairable draws a lot of views. I hope you see this message and I hope you give it another look in.
I'm actually glad to find out it's not just me. I bought an Audi RS3 also unseen from an online site. Seller told me the damage was only to the side and front bumper. Gearbox had a dent but it was just the cover of the mechatronics unit. Upon delivery I found that the side damaged extended into the floor and the gearbox was completely smashed. It's taken me 9 months, but it's on the home straight now. It's been an embarrassment for me... until now. I thought it was just my bad luck, but it seems that dressing damaged cars up is quite common. Thanks for all your videos, I'm a massive fan.
Matt, firstly “I told you so” ..... 😆 secondly, how about just doing an engine swap in to a Mercedes 190E body? It’s been done before & you already have the engine!
Where has it been done before? I'm on all the 190E groups and never seen anyone do this swap. The only swap I've seen was the 190E body that was mounted to a C63 chassis.
@Matt. Stay strong. Better things are yet to come. Ups and downs in life and business. You are doing great despite this fallback. We support you and you make us happy with your channel
Matt. Don't give up on it!! Rebuild it. . I guarantee views will go through the roof after this video. It needs to be your BIGGEST most MENTAL rebuild yet !! You CAN do this Matt 💪 #savethe63
Mat how about if you did all the tear down of the C63 yourself in your unit? That would be content for your channel and save on the labour costs. Then when you’ve got it down to the frame get it straightened and have it shipped back to your place to put it back together?
Love the honesty, a lot of other channels would blag and hide the perils of buying CAT cars. Would be amazing to transplant the running gear and engine into another C63 or even an old school C-Class to make some sort of mental sleeper car. Regardless of what you do, it’s gonna be amazing content. Keep up the great work, Mat.
Honest video 👏🏻. Get rid Mat. Keep your conscience clear, get what you can for any parts, cut your losses and move on. There’s plenty of fresh projects out there for you. Chin up and keep up the great content 👍🏻
Sorry but I disagree but then you did not share the cost of the frame repair… You have chosen a career in saving cars which are motoring history. You wouldn’t lose much content on this. You could take the car back to the unit, pull it apart, totally strip it down to the frame, return it for frame repairs which you could document some of. Then you could do what you do best and rebuild and modify. You said it yourself that everything is reparable… This video is 2 years old and the price today is still £33,000 for this car. If the frame repairs cost no more than £5,000 then you’re still well ahead… Food for thought..? I hope you’ve kept it and will reconsider. What you do is amazing. I love seeing you repair cars that others won’t. You are keeping the best examples of motoring history alive..! Hats off to you. Love your work. Your enthusiasm is infectious.
ouch. Very sorry to hear about this. While it stings, I hope you recoup some of the costs. TBH, breaking for parts could get you most of it back......... Good luck.
You missed a trick there Matt, you could have referred to it as the Mercedes Bends 😂. Sorry this car didn't turn out too well, but your enthusiasm and passion for your channel will push you on to a bigger and brighter future, I'm certain of it! All the best, bud.
I wont say I told you so, I even deleted the comment on the last video out of hope for the 63 because we all wanted to see something of this! That said, I have the W204 and I knew it would be too expensive, the car is a hassle for just simple things sometimes, so this was never going to be a great idea. *On to the next one though mate! The content you produce is beyond great, and I'd love to see another W204 pop up at some point.* It's a shame that a lot of the 6.3's have had their fun and been mistreated already so finding good ons is becoming harder, especially crash damaged. That car is destined to be broken up though sadly... But we've all had bad luck, been there and done that Also if you decide to break for parts I'll have the alloy, tyres, calipers, and mirrrors!
Mat look for another body shell and just transfer the parts over thats the best way to solve this ! Ive had to do it myself lots of times when the damage is just too bad to repair. All the best with the repair Mark.
probably your best, and most honest video so far Mat... we've seen the pain and you'll learn, as we have. I reckon you can get half back on spares, then a bit of merch you'll be ok. Hannah, on the other hand...a further step away from getting her dream motor--that's a BIG problem!
Sorry to hear the bad news Mat as I know how it feels, I part ex a 205GTI for a cheaper car and some Money to go abroad for the first time. I did the deal at night in the dark and found out later the car was a death trap. Couldn't get my GTI back and I scraped the car as I didn't want anyone else driving it. Lesson learnt. Your doing the right thing to cut your losses, I wouldn't put my lass in that car, yes if fixed right, but at a massive expense. I'm sure you will get someone that will make you an offer, even the garage your at might take it as they have found issues. Hopefully you can move forward now and focus on finishing the other projects and then you can buy Hannah a even better safe sexy car😉😘🥂🥂keep up the positive vibes and peace out 🥂🍻🍷😉
Got to love your honesty about this one mate and admire your ethic to not just try and turn it around and re-sell it. Hope you manage to get some kind of return off it in the future.
Absolutely gutted for you Mat. That's a strong price for a car in that shape at auction. Parts alone should recoup a fair bit but might take a while. Onwards and upwards!
Thx Mat! Happy you did not put it up for auction again. You did the right thing. We cannot define ourselves by profits or losses, we can only define ourselves through who we are and our actions. Bottom line, you will have to live with that, and that is a good thing!
Why do we fall? So we can learn to pick ourselves up....

It's taken me 9 months, but it's on the home straight now. It's been an embarrassment for me... until now. I thought it was just my bad luck, but it seems that dressing damaged cars up is quite common. Thanks for all your videos, I'm a massive fan.
Give hannah the maserati, and tell her you will make it all shiny. All girls love shiny cars 😄
Same as what most people have said here....
Get rid, and try & get at least close to the purchase price in spare parts.
Strip it down sell the parts to get your money back
He will get his money back by making videos on it to be honest lad
I'd be interested in seeing how easy / difficult it is to sell parts and see how close to breaking even you can get!
What a guy...proper honest. We all make mistakes. Just try sell parts for as much as you can along with the merch.
Engine swap into another car?🤙🏼
Your attitude towards this was first class. Many including myself would struggle to see the positives. Fair play to you mate.
Matt. Don't give up on it!! Rebuild it. . I guarantee views will go through the roof after this video. It needs to be your BIGGEST most MENTAL rebuild yet !!
You CAN do this Matt 💪
#savethe63
Sorry but I disagree but then you did not share the cost of the frame repair…
You have chosen a career in saving cars which are motoring history.
You wouldn’t lose much content on this. You could take the car back to the unit, pull it apart, totally strip it down to the frame, return it for frame repairs which you could document some of. Then you could do what you do best and rebuild and modify.
You said it yourself that everything is reparable…
This video is 2 years old and the price today is still £33,000 for this car. If the frame repairs cost no more than £5,000 then you’re still well ahead…
Food for thought..?
But we've all had bad luck, been there and done that
Also if you decide to break for parts I'll have the alloy, tyres, calipers, and mirrrors!
Matt, superb stories, honest, positive and genuine. Awesome.
Well done for your honesty Matt. I love your vids and I will keep watching. Thanks S.
