I'd try setting the side skirts so they're evenly spaced between front and back, so leaving the same, very small gap at both ends. Then 3-D print a small extender that fits like a very short sleeve around each end, then probably use super glue to keep it there if it look ok. That close to the wheel well, such a small bit of matte black plastic shouldn't look too out of place.

Mat, I'm absolutely obsessed with your channel. You are my favorite mechanic, I am watching you and learning thanks every time I'm on your channel.
I own 2007 BMW 335I N54 with Dinan stage 2 tuning, and some other upgrades, I absolutely love it. I purchased this car brand new in 2006 and I sold it in 2010 to friend of mine who was afraid to drive it because of the power this car produce. He put only 12,000 miles over 12 years owning it. Three months ago I bought it back, the car is now 16 years old and have only 54,000 miles it was always garaged and it still like new condition. I'm trying to put some more upgrades and improvements. Watching you what you do with your cars make me want to do more and more to make my car look better and drive faster. With the work I did already the car have 450 hp and it's absolute pleasure to drive. I am 72 years old, originally from Poland and I live in US for 40 years. It's kind of funny when I watching your videos sometimes I have to rewind and listen second time, because of your British accent. Don't get me wrong I love it, and so far I understand every word you saying because English is my second language I have to pay attention.
I am amazed, how the final result is always surprising. You are perfectionist, and I admire your attention to details. I am a Master Crystal Cutter, attention to details and perfection is in my blood, that's why I love what you do. By showing your mistakes and finding the solutions sometimes for very difficult problems makes me wanna tackle things I wouldn't do without watching your channel.
Keep up the good work, everything you do it's very educational for all car enthusiast.
I wish you all the best!

  • @Stormy177

Could you get a few components of an aftermarket body kit to give the car wider arches and an interesting rear end? You'll probably have to pick up side skirts from a similar M2 body kit in order for them to fit length-wise, unless there's an aftermarket 'M2 style' kit available for the 140.
Get it right, and you could end up with a really interesting-looking car; get it wrong, and you'll have a really 'interesting' looking car! I'm also curious as to what colour you're going to wrap it. You could go old-school and pick a colour from the M3 Evo palette (Estoril Blue or Techno Violet?) - that could look pretty cool.

Mentioned already, buy M2 damaged side skirts or aftermarket ones. Cut M2 side skirts then section combination of M140i and M2 skirts into a custom fit skirt. This may also benefit rear fitment if you bulge rear wheel wells/quarters blending in M2/M3/M4 (whatever would fit best). Similar to doing a wide body kit, you can cut out bulged quarters from
M car overlay onto M140I , cut out existing M140i quarters, weld new bulged M quarters on, blend, sand ect...... Create truly custom M140i.

Absolutely loved the m2 competition front end idea, the car looks alot more aggressive ,for the side skirts you could maybe get aftermarket carbon side skirts

I'd definitely keep with the white Mat I think it would look awesome with black on it too. Smoked rear lights.

Try adding a mud guard kit , it may cover up the gap on the side skirts and wheel arch.
