It’s preventative healthcare. We all should do it. I’m 72 and just had another one. Polyps as usual, but fine. I had diverticulitis so much , they finally took a foot of my colon out. Sharon I'm so glad you're OK. You are absolutely doing all of the right things to be healthier. High fiber is recommended to help prevent colon cancer. Big, big hugs to you! Fyi my hair does the same exact thing! As for colonoscopy, I do the non-invasive (at home) test. It's a little less accurate but better than none at all. Please hang onto your sense of humor ❤

I get having some polyps and needing them watched for regrowth and change!! So far mine have remained fine!! As I pray yours do too!! I also have a diverticulum pocket but mine is in my throat!!! Crazy right!!! Diverticulitis can be serious!! We all have pockets in our intestines that can catch things like corn, nuts and anything with seeds!! We need more salmon fish chicken and less red meat!! And I am certainly not good at keeping that trend but do try to incorporate it in between my sour skittle habit!!! I know, I am so bad!! Been cooler here!! Wish it was like this all year long!!! But these over cast days are kicking my butt!!! I need the sun to peak out!!! I'v had two and they were a breeze but after my girlfriend woke up DURING the test and it hurt like hell and some people have been damaged.Also after what I'v learned these last 3 1/2 years I dont trust the medical or pharmasutical company's . DR"S told me I "likely had cancer in my "female organs" I did not.take care of yourself hugs connie

Hello my friend, I'm doing good, just going to work then coming home and mowing, which I haven't had to do for over a month, working the garden, which is now dried up, haven't had hardly any rain at all, my pond is almost dried up too its been so hot and dry. Not only taking care of outside work but having to do all indoor work in the house, Im also looking forward to fall, I just hate all this heat and no rain. I always look forward to your videos to see how you're doing, will be praying all goes good for you in all your tests and stays well. Hoping this fall and winter when I'm not so busy I can get back to crafting, I'm really missing it, I even have a list of things I want to make. I turn 70 in October, I often wonder where all the time has gone. Sorry I missed wishing you a happy 60th birthday. New Jersey here and it’s finally cooling down, I feel fall in the air and had all my windows open today. I’m glad you’re taking good care of yourself Sharon, it’s important especially if you have kids and want to stick around for them in this crazy world we live in. I had my first colonoscopy when I was 57yo, you would think I’d know better being an RN to have done it sooner plus my dad has a history of polyps, but after it was done my doctor told me I had 9 polyps, which really freaked me out, luckily they were all benign and fine, however it made me really think about my diet which I have changed completely. I’m 59yo now, lost almost 60lbs and hitting my goal weight of 120lbs. I feel amazing, like I took a half a person off my body😂. Stay strong pretty lady.

I hear ya. I retired 11 months ago, turned 67 in April, had meniscus surgery April 30 and a second one on May 28. I had a bad toothache in May, went to the dentist, turns out there's decay under 7 of my crowns. Having oral surgery and implants put in this Friday. I'm sure not looking forward to that. I get so so nervous going to a dentist. I think now they recommend starting colonoscopy's at 50, then 60 and the last at 70. So many younger people are getting colon cancer these days. Couldn't be all this crap we eat, huh? I got my first at 60 and dr. said the other day that at 70, I wouldn't need anymore. I hope all your test come out free and clear. It’s beautiful here. About 70 degrees. I love fall. I had my 10 th colonoscopy this year. Have polyps that are not cancer but left alone would turn to cancer. I turned 70 when I started falling apart. Get a bone density test too. Glad you are doing better.😊

I have been thinking of you! It was very hot here in NY. Now much cooler at night and in the 70's and 80's during the day. Don't panic with polyps. Take one step at a time, one day at a time but keep on top of things. Being a nurse, many times I see people panic. You need to be alert, strong..which you are! My sister got colon cancer at 35. So I got my first colonoscopy at 39. Im 59 now so Ive had 5. So far only a couple polyps. No history in our family of colon cancer but, it doesnt matter. Please dont ever be afraid to go and have it done. My sister was young and had symptoms but, at her age she thought it was something else. My sisters had already spread and she passed 7 years later after a long battle. 😔❤
Yes I waited til I was 60 yrs old before I broke down and had one. Then had to have another one 2 mths later ! I have family members that won't get them because of the prep. But that's the worse part. Ya'll please get your colonoscopy ! Colon cancer is the silent killer 😢
That makes no sense. You either have cancer or you don’t. It can be pre cancerous in which you will need watched closer. But for him to say it’s cancer but it doesn’t mean you have cancer is just not right.🤔
I had four colonoscopies done. I am way overdue for a colonoscopy and my doctor sent one of those tests that you do at home but I did not do it yet. I have diverticulitis diverticulosis ischemic colitis and my lymphatic system is really messed up. I have lymphedema. I am sick of test. Now my throat is giving me a problem. I have a hoarse voice. It's been like that now for about a month. I am starting therapy for my lymphedema on Monday and cannot wait because it's very painful. The lymphedema is in my bottom part of my legs and ankles and feet everybody should get a colonoscopy I believe it's after a certain age I believe they say get one every 10 years but that may have changed. I've had three colon bleeds and that's why I had them done to begin with yes I know I need another one but I'm in the process of moving. I have to wait till after I move. I'm going to say getting old sucks

We should get colonoscopys every 5 years to keep on top of things. Getting polyps early is a good thing. Bowel cancer takes years to grow . Keep on top of it people.
I had a colonoscopy and that's how they found out l had bowel cancer l had a large tumour removed and l am now on chemo tablets so far all my blood tests have been good ... Have a colonoscopy l could have died if they had not found the cancer ❤

I turned 50 this year in May and I went downhill! I stopped going to get tests bc I don't want to know. That may be silly but I'd just rather not know at this age. I hope everything turns out for the better for you!❤

My mom has that so it really is very painful.And you really just have to not eat vegetables that you can't digest.That's really the only thing But it is.

My sister got colon cancer at 35. So I got my first colonoscopy at 39. Im 59 now so Ive had 5. So far only a couple polyps. No history in our family of colon cancer but, it doesnt matter. Please dont ever be afraid to go and have it done. My sister was young and had symptoms but, at her age she thought it was something else. My sisters had already spread and she passed 7 years later after a long battle. 😔❤

Yes I waited til I was 60 yrs old before I broke down and had one. Then had to have another one 2 mths later ! I have family members that won't get them because of the prep. But that's the worse part. Ya'll please get your colonoscopy ! Colon cancer is the silent killer 😢

That makes no sense. You either have cancer or you don’t. It can be pre cancerous in which you will need watched closer. But for him to say it’s cancer but it doesn’t mean you have cancer is just not right.🤔

I had four colonoscopies done. I am way overdue for a colonoscopy and my doctor sent one of those tests that you do at home but I did not do it yet. I have diverticulitis diverticulosis ischemic colitis and my lymphatic system is really messed up. I have lymphedema. I am sick of test. Now my throat is giving me a problem. I have a hoarse voice. It's been like that now for about a month. I am starting therapy for my lymphedema on Monday and cannot wait because it's very painful. The lymphedema is in my bottom part of my legs and ankles and feet everybody should get a colonoscopy I believe it's after a certain age I believe they say get one every 10 years but that may have changed. I've had three colon bleeds and that's why I had them done to begin with yes I know I need another one but I'm in the process of moving. I have to wait till after I move. I'm going to say getting old sucks

We should get colonoscopys every 5 years to keep on top of things. Getting polyps early is a good thing. Bowel cancer takes years to grow . Keep on top of it people.
I had a colonoscopy and that's how they found out l had bowel cancer l had a large tumour removed and l am now on chemo tablets so far all my blood tests have been good ... Have a colonoscopy l could have died if they had not found the cancer ❤
