Well done on this video. I have NO intention of lowering my C8 when it comes in about a year. I feel the engineers of the C8 know more than I do concerning the handling characteristics and quality in DAILY use. The Mag-ride is an option I intend to have.

I owned a 2020 non mag ride coupe lowered the exact same way as you and regretted it after a couple weeks...yes it looked great but it became no fun to drive and rode like absolute garbage, i think you are understating how bad it rides compared to stock. You mentioned some other things that you see as benefits that i didn't get at all such as squat....barely noticeable.....truly the only real tangible benefit is looks PERIOD! I currently own a 23 HTC with mag ride and will not even consider lowering it. Its a much better driving experience not having to worry about every bump in the road and having to change your route to destinations. I appreciate your honesty at the end tho....i still cant believe you passed on mag ride from the beginning.

Thanks for sending my prize out, the R1 Concepts T-Shirt (Harley Earl question).
    It arrived on Tuesday.
Thanks to the Octane Hour Guys and BOS Channel.

Hi Mike,..... I really think you did an outstanding job addressing the factors involved with Lowering your C8. Quick question came to me as I was watching your car....... When you got the car wrapped, was it necessary to put PPF ontop of the wrap, to protect the paint, or is the wrap 'thick enough' to protect the paint and not require PPFon top? Thanks for all of the great content you are providing. Cheers

Great Video Mike! Yes your car looks amazing too!👍 I too have a non Z51 and non Mag ride. I also live up north where the roads are not very good. I will not be lowering my car for many of the reasons you talked about here. I really like the ride as it stands now and would not want it any stiffer than it already is. If I had the Z51 I would consider it but not in my situation now. As always, to each his own. Thanks again!😎

Thanks for the evaluation, Mike. Having driven a C8 for several years, road dips and speed humps present a problem even at stock ride height. So in my case lowering the car presents somewhat of a peril. But there are times when it would be nice to just press a switch and have the car stance change lower. I've wondered why Chevrolet didn't integrate a lowering capability in the C8's mag-ride and front lift ... 1.5" lowering for track mode would be perfect.

I think lowering the car does make it look good,. But the hassles of worrying about it, if you're gonna hit the bottom of the car when you drive, it's not worth it. Besides that, it doesn't look bad, to begin with.

Hey Mike love the lowered look. I have a 2020 HTC Z51 with mag ride, no lift. Planning to lower it down on the factory coil overs. Shouldn't change the ride quality and will only lower it about 3/4". You're about an inch lower than that, plus you're running the larger wheels so you lost a little dampening from your smaller sidewalls. Almost did that rim setup, but decided not to for ride quality and fear of rim damage. So wonder if you know anyone that lowered theirs on the factory coil overs and what their experience was as to rubbing.
    Cheers Scott

If you are not building a sports car for performance then you have goal different than intended purpose. Lowering is meant for track in the sports car world, and aesthetics is a byproduct. For the road, it is a complete gamble for the underside. I thought the car looked fine either way.

Takes some of the enjoyment out of the car. I'll keep mine at factory specs and save a bundle of money to boot. Not to mention what it does to the geometry of the alignment. Just lowering and no alignment adjustment doesn't sound like a good idea to me. But you go ahead and enjoy it.

Gotta love the convoluted logic earlier on suggesting you take a different, smoother road to offset the terrible ride of the lowered car. The long and short answer is NO, don't do it. As for aesthetics of the car. All I can say is beauty is in eyes of the beholder and for my eyes it's a big NO again. It looked so much better before you messed it up. If attention was your goal, okay. Enhancing it's looks, no.
