    I did the same thing to my C7,,,Stoptechs I believe,,,,didn’t have to replace the rotors,,,after you clean the hub put a little Fluid film on a rag and wipe the hub,,,stops the rust from forming,,,

    What’s the difference far as break dust and the stopping power compared to factory and the difference in ceramic pads compared with the brand your buddy went with?

  • @nyccorvette
    @nyccorvette ปีที่แล้ว

    To use the impact wrench on the rear you will need an impact swivel and an extension long enough to get you clearance for the impact wrench.

    Are those rotors larger than the stock ones?

  • @jamesgrimm2
    @jamesgrimm2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Asking this question. Are those rotors supposed to be directional due to the grooves (slots) and drilled holes?

    Were you happy with the brake dust reduction, noise and vehicle stop performance? Let me know, thanks Mike. Can I keep my factory wheels? Same disk/(rotor) size, correct? No need to acquire larger wheels, right?

    Performance first in braking and then everything else. Steel hat rotors with limited thermal capacity for braking are dirt cheap, and do not do this cars capabilities any justice even in non Z51 form. Fully capable aluminum hat complete six piston caliper systems with thermal track rated tolerances are under 1,600 bucks for all four wheels including pads that are suited for either street or track use. The dust is mitigated with pad choice as well. This is where GM cut cost, but the aftermarket is cheap. This is a 500hp car with a heavy braking system that comes standard because its cheap. Just my opinion, but i would build this car for its intended purpose. Even a non Z51 car is capable of 458 performance with limited investment because the chassis is already there. Good video besides my rant.

    Torque to Yield one time use bolts fellas.

  • @nurburgringdreaming2221
    @nurburgringdreaming2221 ปีที่แล้ว

    5th Gen Z/28 Brake caliper bolts are torque to yield so have to replace them . The threads get stretched because of the amount it’d torque required. Just saying

  • @philsalley3278
    @philsalley3278 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Why? You have a non-z51 C8. They do not generate brake dust. Believe me, I've had/have two.
