- I hate bringing out the lift bags if I can help but, but here I didn't want to break any pilings. Cold water & buried in the mud still got it done with the sun going down quickly..

$4.00 threw hull fitting, $20,000.00 Worth of repairs...🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
love those plastic threw hull fitting never use that shit always bronze threw hulls everywhere
Wish i videoed it back then, but an old guy had a 60' hatteras knockoff with plastic thru hulls leaking. All you had to do is touch them & they would snap right off, dozens of them, all fragile.. He's lucky it sank at the dock & not in the ocean..
So the boat sank because of a two dollar home depot plastic pipe fitting? And yeh. "Well done"
What a piss poor design. Great work as always folks!! 👍👍
PVC below waterline is asking for trouble, Marlon is always better.
Tons of boats have pvc through hulls below the water line. That through hill not having a check valve on it is the real issue.
Pool noodle patch .. i use nerf footballs often... haha
anything we can get our hands on.. thought about carrying some nerf stuff like basketballs for exhaust tubes & larger holes
@@CaptainRetriever ya I keep a few left footballs lol 😆
A little three dollar PVC joint and BOOM! tens of thousands of dollars of damage.
Well done Captain!
Damn, that's crazy...the PVC. I just learned a lot by watching these entertaining videos!
Great work as always. How long did that take?
I did the whole thing in about 2 hours.
@@CaptainRetriever That timeline is really impressive, I saw the twilight and wondered if it went overnight.
I bought my current boat in 2011, it's a 1996 Marlin 350 SF. I keep my boats in the water and the first thing I did before putting it in the water full time was replace every single plastic thru hull with stainless steel. The boat already had bronze thru hull fittings below the water line. I have seen so many boats sink because of broken plastic thru hull fittings. Never should you have a plastic thru hull fitting unless it's at least a foot above the water line. And even then...why take the chance. Shame on this Topaz, nice boat, she had diesels and all.
I feel sorry for the owner
it was insured at least..
Those effing dogs! lol - great video.
Can that be restored or is it not cost effective? I'm not knowledgeable on boats, just asking.
Depends I guess.. All the wiring is shot, but the engines are usually ok.. have to completely reupholster it, but for commercial use it might not require as much work..
Nice work
