These longer videos are a real treat. Thank you Toby for such a brilliant tutorial. Loved the effect of the flat brush. Also sketching out with a watercolour pencil is a game changer!😊😊
Very well done video for a beginner like me. I appreciate the way you explain the choices you make and how you demonstrate your processes. Very helpful, thank you!
How amazing the precision we can have with a flat brush.😵💫🥳🤓 An essential tutorial for how to use it. Once again an other video to perform our art. Thank you Toby.
Hi Toby, just found you and am so glad that I did! Love this video and will be on the lookout for more of your pen and wash. Your insights mean that I can have confidence to use my own references and yet incorporate these techniques which really do give a brilliant result. Thank you, Anne.
I love your video's so much. I haven't painted or drawn in years and you have given me the confidence to do silly things and make little mistakes. Thank you. :)
Toby I‘ve you & your ink sketches, to thank for finding my long lost parker fountain pen set. (Card inside says 1970), propelling pencil & pen inside but no biro. A shaeffer fountain pen ( gift for 21st. 1970 ), and a single older Parker pen, plus 2 others all, having tried them out, good for sketching! This after buying a new fountain pen on Amazon, luckily a cheap one. Thanks for the new sketch & the return of my pens!
@@TobySketchLoose Finished a sketch of yours I started in September an autumn tree front left in a square, painted negative then inked. Mine is untidy & inaccurate but, I enjoyed the process. Thanks.
Nice as usual Toby. Ive been jumping around now, giving acrylics a try. Even though i never did even get good at watercolors. Thats my prob. I keep jumping around instead of focusing one one thing.
Thank you for this lovely in-depth video, I could follow along very well and am happy with my result ;-) . BTW: The sign in the back is a bicycle stand I believe...
Toby, Iove your urban art sketches! More than any other art form. Lifechanging! The craft and humor are always present. So I was delighted to receive notice of this slower tutorial. I have a favor to ask. I am a 79 yo beginner who is hard of hearing. Can you please provide closed captions on your videos? I'm going to follow along as best I can to be sure - captions would be a tremendous help.
Thank you so much 😀 there should be automated subtitles from TH-cam available in multiple languages - normally accessible via the little cog button in the video 🙏
LG Barbara

Sometimes closed captioning shows up a bit after the video drops. Check back in a few.
Lovely stuff, Toby. I love the style but need to do it more until it becomes second nature.
Great stuff Toby. Thanks.
