Shari, thank you so much for sharing this! It’s like bonus material for your course. I had planned to be at that exact spot this fall until plans fell through, so this gives me a little taste until I can finally get there, sketchbook in hand.
Oh Shari, What an amazing scene you created!! I am always delighted to see your water images. Thanks so much and Congratulations on your most recent Award! Well-deserved!

Shari, WOW!WOW!WOW!. Loved the video and piece you did. Nice Platinum fountain pen. What ib were you using? Do you find that sometimes fibres from the paper gets stuck between the tynes? What ink do you use? Do you use a converter or cartridges? Thank you so much for sharing.
HI Daniel! Glad you enjoyed it!! My Platinum pens are all EF. As for fibres from the paper, not at all. The Saunders paper in this book is really great. I was worried about that too but no problem at all. As for ink, I use the Platinum ink cartridges. I travel a lot and these are ideal. I never carry ink bottles when I travel. And the pen never clogs. Hope that helps!
Wow Shari thank you so much for replying so quickly.. Is the Platinum ink a waterproof (permanent)ink. I have a few Platinum cartridges that i will try when i can get rid of the cast on my right hand. I agree that cartridges are much more convenient when traveling. I recently used Noodlers Borealis Black and it seems to be waterproof. I am very new to pen and watercolour sketching. I have been using a vintage Conway Stewart with a 14 K gold nib because I can get some line variation. look forward to going back and viewing all your other content as I can not do any sketching for an other 4-5 weeks dur to the cast.
Hi, lovely video. What tips can you give someone starting with watercolors (but with a drafting/architectural background) to do more loose sketches and stay away from being too linear? I’m having some difficulty with curves, I find myself going towards my rulers most of the time even when I attempt a loose sketch.
@efvp1969 Hi, I would say that the best way to loosen up is: use a bigger brush than you think you need AND don't colour in the lines. Try to offset your line and your wash. As for drawing curves, I think that just takes a lot of practice. I DO practice that whenever I can!
I wish you would open a membership on TH-cam and upload your class video. Your art classes are so cool, i want to purchase them on your website but it’s hard for me to understand without subtitles..😭 TH-cam’s auto subtitle is awesome.

Hi @suzettesaunders8409 I am using an Alvin Heritage Palette. thanks for watching.

What mix did you use for the brighter green on the water?
HI Anne. That bright green is probably Hansa Yellow and Hooker's Green.
