What will happen to Paddy Doyle and Next Level Adventures? Where will Dreamy go next? All these answers and more in this video.

This was a definite no brainier , the absolute correct decision Paddy. What were the alternatives, stay get locked down then get depressed for not going with your gut decision. I can only see upside to it. You're in a place where you will be mentally happy. You can still make videos and do your thing. And i guess with the incredible amount of travelling you've done, it'll be a good little break to refresh your mind body and soul. Count this time as a blessing. Well done on making this right decision. Enjoy mate and cheers from Australia, Mike.

All things considered, I've learned over the past 18 months that no matter what happens while I'm living abroad, it could be worse. I could be sitting in my old job, looking at spreadsheets, overwhelmed with emails, doing 14 hour days, stressed out of my mind. I'm always grateful. 😉 ...from the look of it, you'll be fine. You're accomodation looks awesome.

Just my 2 cents. Everyone is saying great decision and it probably will be in the long run and for your mental health Paddy. However, whilst the rest of the world can't even travel within their own country and lockdown rules get stricter. One of your videos you say it's a privilege to travel. Be grateful that you are traveling around Thailand and able to catch up with friends. Some of us live Vicariously through these videos since we can't be in the situation you are in. Keep on vlogging, stay safe Paddy!

A prudent decision just to keep a low profile and see where the COVID numbers go over the next few weeks. Besides, Koh Samui is a super place, as you know, so a good decision to suspend the trip and wait it out for a few weeks and possibly months. Let's all hope this COVID BS is over soon.

Great call Paddy. You did say at the start of the journey that you may have to take a break at some time just to give yourself some rest. Look it as a chance to regather your thoughts and make the most of your time to plan and make it an even better trip than you would have done if you had carried on. So we all gain from this enforced break. Everyone's a winner. Winner winner, chicken dinner!!

you gotta do, what you gotta do. I was in Sri Lanka in March last year when everything started shutting down. So I had to make the decision to end my trip several days early to get out while I could. If the taxi driver is coughing and sniffling you might want to put a mask on. When the airport in BKK was shutdown several years ago due to protests I had to take a taxi from Bangkok to Phuket which was something like a 10 hour drive in order to get a flight home.

Good decision, Paddy, given the escalation in numbers. You've taken an intelligent approach, you can only base your decision on what was current, the rest is history. I move back to the UK from Da Nang, Vietnam last month (after 21 months), after their third lockdown in the city ended. UK numbers were falling and restrictions easing, now, 3 weeks later, numbers here in the UK are raising but Da Nang went into their 4th lockdown just 5 days after I left. It's just a really sad time for ppl who love travel.

When I was there for the first lockdowns last year, I made the decision to go from Bangkok to Pattaya, my issue was I ended up stuck in lockdown for two months in a condo that, although nice was only really close to 7-11 and a beach but not much else.
My friends were in Bangkok and I ended feeling really isolated. My thought was that Pattaya would be less locked down because there weren't many if any tourists left in Pattaya at the time and since Pattaya has is run by its own rules the restrictions wouldn't be too bad.

As a taxi driver who has agreed a long distance deal with passengers, its fair to say that the driver is doing the passenger as much of a favour as the passenger is to the driver, whether the passenger believes it or not.
Fair is always fair, on both sides. It's good to keep that in mind.

Happy travels. 🥳 Great quote by Dolly, I told my kids that a few days ago. It’s been raining like a mad house here lately. ⛈ have fun Paddy and share your joys. ♥️🙏🏻

Wow that was a hell of adventure and a great post! All through the video i kept thinking about some of your earlier posts - the train ride south w/Dreamy and how you had to go back to her!!! Now that must have been hell. I figured you would get through this one no problem.
Hang in there man and stay healthy. ps I can't believe that driver went back. Keep up the great work.
    the adventure continues...

Hi Paddy. Good decision - I would have done the same thing. If you have to be stuck somewhere for a while - then a place of your choosing is extremely important for your psychological well being --> and we want our beloved Paddy in tip top shape.
Also, I have some GREAT memories from Kanchanaburi and that wonderful province, in my opinion, deserves a proper Paddy Doyle Next Level Adventures tour and review. So, better to wait until things calm down.

Because we watch on our tv rarely comment but watching this one now reminded me to come and comment. Samui is definitely the place to go, do a meet up with Chris! We are hoping to get back to Samui before the year is out, the last time we were there was March 2020 and left as the world descended into lockdowns. Keep doing these!

Being a season traveller yourself, any decision you made is based on your intuitions. A good judgment call indeed at the end of the day.
Objectively, you did what your heart tells you rather than rationale. Well done Paddy

Mr back in 1999 for some reason me and my family booked 2 Vans from Bangkok to Lampang cost around 18k baht, one for luggage and one for us. We paid for both drivers lunch, dinner etc and fuel. This was after we got a friend to drive us to Bangkok from phuket on a 18 wheeler tree truck, which we shared the cab with the driver and all our stuff tied down with the trees. Was a adventure for a 11 year old, parents needed and wanted to save money. Trip took three days from phuket to lampang.... 😉😬

Great 👍 video. I think it was a wise decision making sure you got to a place you wanted to be in case you would get stuck there for some time. I thought you may go back to Koh Samui among other places. I did look at the map and wow that was a far way back to go. I thought maybe Chumphon which would be a bit closer since you had lived there before. Looking at the map I probably would have gone back to Hua Hin as it seemed like a cool place with a nice beach and it wasn’t that far from where you were. You could have ridden the EFoil some more. Also i remember your place in Hua Hin looked nice I wouldn’t mind spending a few weeks there. Safe travels Paddy. 🙂

You haven’t jumped the gun. Your in a place of comfort now also you got to put yourself first in situations like this. You have absolutely made the right decision. If the role was reversed and you stayed then got locked down, you would have been thinking I should have gone when I had the chance. Kanchaburi will always be there :)
We all care about you Paddy and Dreamy of course :) I think all your subscribers are happy that you made this decision

Paddy. Remember the cave that had all the guys with rifles? You trusted your gut and later you found out some stuff happened. So... I think you will find that trusting your gut on this decision is for the best also. Most of all stay safe and stay healthy. Part of a good mental health regime is knowing when to stop second guessing yourself. Its good to double (and sometimes triple) check yourself, but I spent too many years wasting my time on the "what-ifs" and came to realize that I could continue living with constant worry and anxiety over the "what-ifs..." or I could use that energy to build upon bettering my quality of life and those around me. Be safe.
