    You might want to put a spritz of clearcoat over that chip after the final cleaning. It serves to protect it from corrosion. Excellent layman's explanation of chip reprogramming 👍

    There are some poor auto repair videos on you tube...but this is NOT one of them!. Great camera work in tight places ie focus and stillish and with light. Great explanations, and no steps missed out , you know the really difficult ones that people spend hours trying to work out but the video just skips right past it. Not the case here. For example we didn't suddenly go from " I need to remove the crash data from this module..." to ...."Well after I got the module back from the guys who sorted this for me all I have to do is refit it in the vehicle. Simple eh? " Pffft!! Like that is no help at all. But this Fx206 could show these a guys a thing or two. Well done, and trust me a well done from me is very hard to get. Two thumbs up. :)

      Tory, thank you so much for such a positive comment! I usually try to be as thorough as possible when making videos. This way it's not just the entertainment value, but I want folks to take something away after watching. Same as you I am hard to please, I seldom comment on other peoples videos, but if I do it usually means that the video was awful and I feel like I have to say something, or video was great and I feel like I have to let the creator know that I appreciate the effort he put into it !

      Придерживаюсь этого же мнения. Даже мне с программатором и кое какими знаниями легче заплатить парнишке который занимается этим делом профессионально, 5 минут работы за $50 и все готово... А иначе потратил пол дня а то и день ковыряться в интернете выискивая правильную программу и как ты сказал, есть шанс накосячить и ещё спалить свой модуль и вот здесь уже начинается попадос на бабки... Сам то откуда?

    It's certainly been a while since your last video (4 months). No doubt you'll have videos a lot more frequently now with what you've been doing lately. You seem to be able to find ways to make repairs at minimum cost, but your level of skill in many different areas lets you do that. I think you could almost repair a car for the cost of the paint, using your home-made repair tools. This was really interesting how you managed to get the chip reprogrammed. Certainly an "off the beaten track" method, but it worked really well. Hope you are safe from this COVID-19 over there. Not too bad here in Queensland Australia, but Victoria and New South Wales are not doing so well. Looking forward to your next video, whatever it might be, as your videos are always interesting. All the best from Australia.

    This is not a reprogram an airbag video. This is a data crash reset video. I have recently replaced a set unit on a Mercedes Sprinter. I replaced the main ECU, the instrument cluster, the ignition lock that came with its key and also the airbag module. Unfortunately the airbag module was faulty as it had some corrosion. Now I have to reprogram the original airbag module to the new ECU unit. I looked for any videos but there are none. No matter what, I will figure it out at the end. Great video by the way. awesome video, my question is you didn't show us how to fix the seat belts, because one crash happens the belts will also be deployed and you have to fix them in order to have the airbag light off. thank you for the great vedio

    • @fix206
      @fix206  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I normally don't repair the seatbelts, most of the time it's easier to just buy a replacement belt, because the repair would require some physical replacement parts to be installed on a "deployed" belt. But resetting the module only requires the reprogramming.

  • @colonialroofingofnorthcaro441
    @colonialroofingofnorthcaro441 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    How did you come up with the values needed to make the seat airbag to trick the system for testing, great video, learning is a great thing and most of us aren't as smart as others, there goes the equality argument, lol, but be would be great to see a video on how to test and figure value for making resistors, etc, God bless

    • @fix206
      @fix206  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry for a late reply, but the way to trick the system would be to acquire a good airbag that has not been deployed and then measure the resistance of the airbag with a multimeter through the pins on the back side of the airbags assembly. Once you know the resistance value then you can get a resistor with a matching value, wire the resistor into the place of the airbag and the SRS module will think that the airbus is in

      Could be different things, you may have a bad connection in the plug that comes off of a wiring harness where it goes into your knee airbag, so your app cannot see that airbag as being connected. It's hard to tell what it is without actually getting in there and doing some testing ...

    • @fix206

      After the module gets refreshed and installed in the vehicle, it's going to make sure that all of the airbags are plugged in, deployed airbag will act the same as unplugged airbag so if module will not see one of the bags it will display an SRS light and will generate a foult code.

I hope you can answer me. Thank you

    • @fix206

      What you need to do is: call your local Acura dealer and give them the Vin number of your Acura. Then once they have your car pulled up in their system, tell them that you need an SRS Control module, or at least a correct part number of that module for your vehicle. If you have the correct part number, to save money you can look for that module online and once yo get it it's just as easy as plugging it in and you're done.

    The stitching for the seat airbag needs to be done in a scpecific way in order to rip in the exact way the manufacturer intended it to. How sure are you that you are stitching it the correct way and that the airbag will deploy in the same manner as oem? From my understanding it is safer to have no airbag in the chair if a replacement kit is not available.

When the body shop replaced the airbags they had to reset the modules or program the ecu to accept new modules. Well when I picked up the car today, the and the ktuner module isn't finding the ktuner maps in the ecu.
