I have been looking for a Yamaha Grizzly 600 for a while. I have wanted one so bad that I would have bought one like this if the price was right. I don't mind the work or money to bring it back since I would keep it. I'm glad that you took the time to show this video to get the proper information out. I hope you make your money back from the video alone. And maybe you fix it up and ride it properly.
You are getting me motivated to work on mine again. I finally got a whole other wiring harness for mine but haven’t put it on yet. Had to walk away from it for a bit. The 2 main problems with mine was it would instantly over heat just idling for like 5 min. The second thing was even when I would turn the key off it stay running. The harness was a mess though so I’m hoping putting on the better harness will fix it but not sure on the over heating part of it. It’s identical to your machine though.
Nice machine. I have one of those. My neighbor sold it to me for $200. I got it running but it has been sitting about a year now. It has 10,000 miles on it. If I use a 4 wheeler I generally use my Honda rancher 420 that one has about 230 hours on it.
Once again another start. I would have to agree that when they're incomplete, bid low and be prepared to walk away. If they want more, let somebody else deal with the parts scrounging, shipping charges and nonsense involved with a machine with no interest on the current market. Years ago I picked one up in good running condition for $1100, cleaned it, painted the racks and put on a new seat cover. Got $1400 after I was done. Nothing but practice for the future. Soon Harvey.
Funny enough I was gonna go to your newest video and ask if this type of wiring harness would work on a 500, and then I seen this, so yeah I think it'll work on a 500 of you made it work on a 600
Got this very quad that had been sitting for a couple years in my father in laws garage... He had bought it new. A couple years prior he had put new Mud-Lite tires on it... Then he went to take it out for a spin and the machine only cranked but didnt start... So after he gave up on it he stuck in the way end of his garage and bought a Rhino... Then as he was cleaning out his garage he called me and asked me if I wanted it. He said there is only condition... I am selling it $400 because of the new tires. SO I bought it right away... There where 2 issues when I got it... A really gummed up Carb and the Carb rubber boot between the carb and engine was full of cracks... So this was causing a no start issue. It had dried up and riding on the salty beach just killed it... Bought a new rubber boot, rebuilt the carb and this things roars like a beast ! I push snow with it during the winter time ! I love it !
Try taking the hose off the carburetor it looks like it hooked up to the engine vent and it will suck in oil to the carburetor. They need separate vents It's on the Ir box diagram not not the carburetor diagram something to look Into
Ive seen plenty of yamahas after being flipped or tipped I guess oil submerging the pickup kills them. But yeah these things are heavyyyyyy buddy of mine had one and it died on him in the woods. We had to drag it back up hill with my suzuki 500 spinning the whole way with 3 of us on my suzuki for more weight and traction. He sold it not running, but knowing what I know now I would have liked to see what was wrong with it. It was impossible to pull start. Too much compression. Starter motor couldnt even turn it over with an atv battery, had to use a running car. Was very odd. Had really good power tho when it did run. Main issue we kept having were with aftermarket carbs cause the original carb the float was broken.

Nice job. Did you happen to check for oil off-camera before starting it?
