Oh they got a Renovation collection ! One of my favorite publisher on the Genesis. I hear noboby talk about them. I'm thinking about this Evercade. Love the concept and the game library variety ! I hope they put out a Apogee Collection !! 🙏 Wanna play Commander Keen and original 2D Duke Nukem games again. They got so many classics !
I’m definitely ordering one of these! 😄Admittedly seeing 2 cartridge slots kind of reminded me of the Tiger Game Com handheld console, if anyone remembers that?? 😛
I’ve always associated the Vs. with the fact that you now can play with (or against) a friend a feature not available on the OG handheld. I’ve had the system since launch and I enjoy it greatly. I wish there was more indie games for the system and maybe that’ll change in the future, both Alwa’s Awakening and Cathedral are releasing this month so fingers crossed. But all and all a fantastic system that should be interesting for any retro gaming fan 😺
Yeah by far Xenocrisis is my go to on the Evercade so far so i would love to see more indie modernish games. That is an excellent point about the VS slogan
To be honest, Nintendo Switch is designed around two players using the same device (split screen support in many games, detachable joycons, kickstand etc.).
I'd definitely be down for Blaze doing PC Engine games for the Evercade myself, especially the Japanese ones like Macross 2036 and Ginga Fukkei Densetsu Sapphire too. I'd also love for them to port more classic JRPGs like Terranigma and Phantasy Star IV too.
I might have to buy one of these eventually as the library just keeps getting better and better. The only things I don't like are the placement out the start and select buttons (although I could get used to it so it's not a huge deal) and the fact that many of the cartridges have gone out of production. Also, I must say that the lack of any Nintendo games is a HUGE bummer. They have a massive amount of classic games, and we all know that we'll never see them on the Evercade.
Very nice video, I got my dual controller VS bundle on sale and a gift card got it down to the price of the starter bundle! Ive been having fun playing games I missed or wanted to try, and the hidden/monthly games are a really nice touch. I do wish someone could make something wild and new for this console but still a very fine system to destress from modern gaming (at least for me lol).
very interesting. this cool depending on collections. would be great for keeping older games mainstream, but hopefully it works out. that capcom license they got is a great development and I hope the cartridge situation gets resolved. the physical carts have me interested though.
Physical crats were what brought me to the table and got me interested with the original Evercade. It was specifically the Renovation Collection and EXP that got me interested again
I have this and all carts and others on pre order, me and 9yr old do retro Sundays and best scores wins (treats, sweets choc etc) soooo nostalgic and great to bond over BUT... he still a ps fan boy, he plays ps2 ps3 ps4 (got ps5 for crimbo) I'm same but with xbox and recently bought built pc too
I have this and the handheld got them both within the last six months or so. Preordered the exp limited edition. Waiting for restock on some earlier carts because I was late to the party but overall I think it’s been worth it
I just found your channel, I love it! I tis great to hear and watch a fella newf doing retro on the tubes! I was born in St Anthony! Subbed,,, now to watch your back catalog!
I love the Evercade not for retro games per say because I have many retro systems, but I do love the cartridges that have games I have never played or cannot find anywhere but the Evercade. Can't wait for my EXP.
i just picked up the vs and the handheld delux ed or extra or whatever they are calling it that comes with the capcom games and bought a handful of cartridges to get me started. What really sold me on these systems is the physical media. i prefer having cartridges instead of relying on DC games, mainly because after a system is out fir awhile and discontinues, after a few years the company usually dissolves its support for the system, so if you only have your games archived on their server, and not on an sd card, your screwed... and what happens if your sd card breaks or becomes corrupted??? hope you have lots of backups... and the big memory sd cards are pricey.... so yeah, having a cartridge is awesome!
Just sold my Evercade handheld and VS Founder's Edition... I love the concept, but the lack of AAA-titles (I know some Capcom games are coming as a built-in on the EXP, but not as carts) and insistence on focusing on indies and PC games was a turn off. The idea that certain carts aren't cross-compatible between systems was a bummer, too. But the final straw was the lack of official wireless control options that made the whole scenario a bit too inconvenient. It's great to collect and looks nice on the shelf, but didn't have value for me beyond that. I wish them the best of luck, though!
Thanks Paul! I completely understand where you are coming from brother. Like i mentioned in the video it was the renovation collection which got me hyped and brought me back in and i also may be getting super hyped about the EXP as well. Hopefully they can turn the corner and bring in more aaa games
That is a sexy Pong table! I have to say that I find it really irritating when stuff like this doesn't come with a charger. The box probably cost more than a suitable charger. If it is something I'm willing to spend oney on, I'll pay the extra couple of dollars. "Gary's". You make a. Compelling argument, and if they had shipped you one to review earlier I might have bought it during the last sale
Well if there is anyone I trust with how to pronounce it Ed it is you. The pong table is awesome, but glad i got it at clearance. The no charger piece is really strange and sadly it's becoming more and more the norm
How smooth was the handling on the controllers? That typically is where many of these types of machines fail in my opinion. It also would be great if they had a fight controller as you said. I have high hopes for this console and am looking to get one myself 😊
It's really good. I was super nervous because of the pressure pad dpad and I have never liked those but this works surprisingly well and i never felt i needed to switch it out for something else. I still do hope they release an arcade stick at some point.
Lack of games I would play keep me from buying this. I’m surprised to see there are some carts that don’t work on the VS at all, that’s wild. Will you be getting the EXP?
If this supports any external controllers over USB, then the only logical step is for someone to build an arcade machine out of it. Heck, even Blaze themselves could produce "arcade cabinets" powered by this hardware and carts and send them "IKEA style" for customers to assemble at home. Not everyone is a purist, who needs original hardware and original parts. Many of us would be fully satisfied with this solution.
So now we got a company that is taking free roms from online and putting them on cartridges to sell for overpriced tags? lol! I will never understand why people would buy this thing, it's a waste of money.
Hi Guys, Thanks for checking out the video! Don't forget to leave a comment and let me know what you think of the Evercade VS
Great videos, many thanks. Please … console = con-sole not council/counsel. Thanks.
Had the VS since launch and spend more time playing on it than my PS5
😂
I haven’t even bothered buying the ps5 or series x yet. Not sure I ever will tbh

Besides my series s it’s the only console I play lol. I just love each game being a multicart, gives you a lot for your $20

My channel is dedicated to the Evercade and I love. Great and honest review!
Thank you so much!

Michealbthegamegenie looks like the scam has found us now too. Unless I won a cab lol
Great review. I've been debating on this one for a while. May hold off and get the EXP at some point.
The VS is a great option and the price point really helps but that EXP sure does look awesome. Thanks Wild Bill
I got this upon release, pretty neat, I use mine with wireless Sega Saturn controllers as you can remap the buttons
Nice! So you can use other controllers. I should see if my 8Bitdo ones work
Looking forward to getting my hands on the EXP, evercades library looks amazing and like you say, just keeps growing. Great review man
Thank you so much. Yeah I am pretty excited for the EXP

I'm late to this party, but great review, addressed all my concerns. I'm ready to pull the trigger on this!

Hoping to see u review the MVSX soon
It's on the list, I'm just trying to play catch up first
Whoops wrong account. But I did enjoy your review. I did just manage to get a start pack and was looking around and saw your video!
Thanks Michael.

Never seen a TV / Monitor with curved edges. What is that?
Playstation 3D TV they sold back in the PS3 era
That is a sexy Pong table!

@@MichaelBtheGameGenie I'm happy anytime I get something I want cheap.

I think so, i love the tate mode flexibility and the capcom inclusion didn't hurt
Proper tate mode and capcom games do have me thinking about the exp 🤔
I'm not up on this what will be the difference between the evercade vs against the evercade exp
Hi Mike great review I absolutely 💯 agree with you they need a fight stick just to let u know u can hook a ps5 controller to it plugged in
Thanks you! What a PS5 controller works?
@@MichaelBtheGameGenie so Mike plug the vs controller on player 1 than plug ps5 controller on player 2 than go to controller settings and test it
Hi, can someone please tell me the title of the game that is featured on-screen @7:48?
It's called Xeno Crisis. It's a retro modern game
@@MichaelBtheGameGenie Excellent! I will need to look into Xeno Crisis then. It looks like a game that I'd enjoy playing!
Will it let you use any USB joystick?
Almost all yes!! I have several 8bit do controllers as well as the arcade stick and it works AWESOME!

It's called VS because its multiple player based lmfao...
I love this thing, but the game paks are usually mostly disappointing. Ten crap games for every 2 good ones. EverSD here I come
I dont see the point in these..........all of us already have a computer capable of emulation.
Speak for yourself thief.
Clean your tables! 😂😂😅
I see this like waste of money. Shit games and only popular in uk. But who knows...
