I did not have one of these as a kid, but- when I was 14, I did buy a crosman 72 saddle pal. That was the first gun I ever bought. Boy did I have fun! I just got back into airguns a few years back, scads of fun folks! The 1377 is a great air pistol to have.
Thanks for the honest truth about all those expensive 1377 "upgrades"! I've got one, I did install a red dot rail and a shoulder stock, but other than that it's factory stock, and it's loads of fun.
Had one of these as a kid over here in the UK. Bought it on eBay from the US many years ago, can't do that anymore! Must have been early 2000s. Listing was removed but the seller kindly sold it to me still. Provided hours of fun, really accurate and lots of rabbits for the pot too. Mine had a crookedbarn metal breech before the crosman ones even came out I think. Out to 15yards with a scope it was perfect
I understand the quandary when deciding to buy upgrades that cost many times more than the basic airgun. I just got one, and I'm probably not going to drop hundreds into it. One thing I'm definitely doing is a hardware store spring to lighten the trigger. As an old guy, I'll probably do the BuckRail picatinny for a red dot. The front sight was difficult to see, black on black, even flipping the rear for the peephole. I put a dot of red paint on the blade, and now consistently hit targets at 10-15 yards. The red dot should help more, but I'm going to noodle around with it a couple of weeks first. We're in the mountains, so I'm probably not going to do the suppressor. The thing is pretty quiet as is, more quiet than the Gamo Swarm .22 I have, and certainly a whisper compared to firearms. I might go for the stock, but I dunno. I got it specifically to plink with a pistol, and pest control. ANYWAY, thanks for your video. Nice shooting.
I had a wood chuck problem. 1377, added stock, Taso air scope, brain shots at 12 yards. No more problem. And no tree rats either :-) An awesome little gun. Rws and jsb pellets, dead accurate to 20 yards.

I'll be a sympathetic idiot. Just bought one myself and got suckered into the rabbit hole of upgrades. Of the upgrades that I bought, go with the steel breech as your first. Don't really need much more after that. However, the next two upgrades should you choose are a removable roll pin, and a threaded barrel band for the flexibility of attaching a moderator just in case you don't want to alert the neighbors. Opted not to get the flat piston as I didn't need the extra power (Plus didn't want to exceed the fps max in my state). I wanted a more rigid barrel for better accuracy, rails for optic attachment, and lower decibel shooting.
Thanks for your comment, King. I already have the Torx screw rather than the roll pin.... I think. What state has FPS limits? Lol. Gotta be Cali or NY....That would be one gun law (among literally all of them) that I'd not be complying with. He is right, but also wrong at the same time. What I mean by that is that there is an upgrade that can be done that let's you pump more than 30 times or more. Remember it is a single shot, with that upgrade and a few others, chrono readings have been done and shown to get the pellet up to 1500 - 1800 fps. Turning this thing into an Evil Little Carbine.
I extremely highly doubt a Crosman 1377 has ever shot 1500+ fps ever in the history of Crosman 1377s. I'd have to see that to believe it. Sounds like some straight up Fudd-lore, to be honest. Post video link if it exists.
