I had one of these old guns my dad passed down to me. It unfortunately met its end and a truck fire years ago. I bought a new one however and it's just as much fun as the old one! Although doesn't have the to click knob on the back just a bolt small differences but basically the same gun. What a joy to shoot!
The steel breech is one of the best upgrades you can make to it. I love mine but I turned it into a rifle and will be converting it back to a pistol. It was made to be that and I loved it that way
Crosman 1377 oil : use hydraulic jack oil found at auto parts stores - it's 10wt, non detergent and formulated to work safely with seals. About $3.50 for a lifetime supply.
I had the original American classic 1377 with "no brass bolt," mine had just the round 2 click breach /cocking mechanism that ya pulled from the rear of the pistol. Years later they added the bolt which snaps off quite easily if dropped on hard surface
The 1377c and PC77 are the same Crosman Gun. The 1377c has brown grips while the PC77 is solid black. I have 2 black ones and I added the 1399 shoulder stock and they became carbines!
Just think, in 06 this time of year, southern Iraq at midnight it was 110f. And 130-145f in the shade during the day. We "Worked" outside for our 16 hour shift, but some days we were on the job for 36 hours. Now, it was only 90f with the AC on full blast day and night in my sleeping box. I will say that 125f and above, "Hot is Hot" Here in MI. it has been very cool this year, mostly in the 70's, normally we see 85-90. Hang in there Rick, and maybe do some night shooting.
It's almost hard to believe there hasn't been a 13xx review here yet. The two best mods for it are two stage kits and the steel breach, with those you get a hair more fps, a scope mount, and far more accurate trigger pull.
I've had my Classic since 1984 and it just stopped working two weeks ago. I picked up a new PC77 and I really like the bolt action style, everything else is identical except for the black forearm and grip.
I love my Crosman 1377. i use it for pest control, as I have a problem with pigeons at home. My review; I found that the pin holding the pump handle loosens up with time--they don't make them like they used to. You will need to replace the pin once or twice. It helps to hold the top of the pistol when pumping. Recommend not holing the hand grip when pumping, this places the gun at a slight angle as you're pumping and placing excess force on the pin. The pin gets loose, the plastic sight will be off, leading to many missed shots until you notice the problem. Recommend replace the pin or the plastic sight. Parts for the Crosman 1377 do not come cheap; some parts may be more expensive than the gun itself.
I find it worth it though. I'm still not done upgrading mine but it gives you a good platform to have endless upgrades. Basically it's just worth whatever you end up putting into it.
hey rick great review 'I agree the 1377 is a nice little pistol i have one that be at least 10 maybe even 12 years old 'i did have to put new seals in a couple times 'but other then that its a good gun '
Always wanted one. frustrating gun at first. shoots good, good groups with 3 differetn pellets/weights. Rear sight adjustable....ya right. The Sights suck...shoot way to high no matter what. There are many sites/comments on this issue. I got an adjustable back sight and steel breech, still shoots too high. had to make the front blade higher or go with red dot or scope in general. Still working it out
I think the key words here are 'cheap' and 'fun'. Crosman continues to build air guns with solid value, but the target groupings are proof that you get what you pay for. If I want 'fun', I'll reach for the Crosman. If I want 'accuracy', I'll pick up my RWS Diana Model 5.
Always fun to necro a video. Not sure if I will get an answer but my question is, Does the bolt need to be closed while pumping? as it seems 'safer' if it could be left open.
thru the yrs I've brought 3 of these, first two had the sliding breach which wouldn't stay closed,my last one has the bolt action type,I love the pistol good power, enough for pesty cats, dogs,or small game!
It is 2021, I just bought the newer version (I guess) from Academy Sports for $50. Right out of the box this thing was Powerful & Dead straight with only 5 pumps @ 20ft !
I bought the benjamin MK 2 trail 177.. I'm gonna go back and get this pump up 177 next week.. amazon has it in 22 caliber. Academy in baytown tx only has the 177.
with an crosman classic 177 some nights ago, I shot a some small rats and cause them severe wounds, should be much easier to shoot at biggest rats ..¿crosman 1377 and crosman pumpmaster classic 177 are the same thing? I'm thinking about buying another crosman like this to have two powerful weapons..this gun is the best.
I'm thinking on buying an air rifle for hunting rabbits. I need accuracy and power, I can't decide which rifle is better because I walk long distances when I'm hunting so a pcp is not an option because I tend to shoot a lot. Which rifle do you think is a good option? I was thinking on a beeman r9 or an rws 350 magnum or the hatsan sniper 125.
How does this compare with the Benjamin Trail NP? Specifically with regards to durability and accuracy. I'm looking for something for a bug out bag / survival themed kit. Light weight, accurate and powerful enough, hypothetically, take very small game (doves, mice, frogs) and with good shot placement*, larger small game like squirrels, rabbits. The main trade offs I see are more time between shots with the 1377; It does appear to have a fairly longer barrel though and maybe a more durable power source? Or, if anyone knows of a solid .177 pellet rifle under 4 lbs that shoots between 600-1000 fps for under $65, that would fit the bill as well.
get a springer rifle. the Ben trail is a springer pistol i believe too. springer action guns are way more durable and reliable in the situations u are looking at.
Hi, im am new on airguns. And bought my first purchase. When storing the 1377 should I store it with 1-2 pumps? I've heard various things about it. What about cocked? Store it cocked or uncocked?
Its a good gun but they need to make a metal front sight the one i had was warped and when i was looking at other ones in the store those where warped too
+john Thomason - can and should are two different questions.. yes it can.. should you.. well that's going to be up to you. If you are close enough, and can hit accurately enough.. sure. If not.. then nope. cheers AGW
+Airgun Experts - AirgunWeb / AirgunWebTV ..greetings brother, i know you sell the metal breech with rear combo sights....tell me..is the rear sight metal or plastic, thanks again...and always great presentations.
I have a problem, my 1322's action and barrel wiggle a lot. I usually carry it on my hip as my secondary out squirrel hunting, so I need it to be reliable enough. I just got it at the beginning of the year too, so it's not very old or beat up.
go on ebay and search up a 1377/2240 barrel support its a liner that sits between the barrel and pump/co2 tube and locks the barrel in place. you are always gonna have some barrel side to side play with the crappy stock breech... if you want to totally stop all barrel movement, get a steel breech, and a 3D printed barrel support from Alchemy AirWerks, and then you will have a LOCKED IN dead tight barrel an massively increase the overall accuracy capability of the gun.
ive taken out about 7 rats already with this thing . i will say though that u shouldent try shooting rats at anything more that 10m with it as it just dont have the power . i cant manage to get groups as good as yours though donno if its me or the gun
just bought one at Walmart. barrel is warped, front sight is canted to the left. breech is canted to the right. It grinds when pumping. Wtf? My dad's 1377 that he got years ago, way better than this piece, get a used one, don't buy this junk. No quality control what so ever.

I still have mine, bought it in the early 80's, still working, although i think i need a new air chamber, its not as powerful as it used to be.
@@adam03110 you can use a drop of motor oil on the seals
The RWS 350 and the Hatsan 125 are heavy. For an all day hunt the R9 would be perfect to carry in the woods.
Cheers,

Thanks for mentioning the pump limits. Pellets got stuck inside with 1 or 2 pumps but just jam another one in an pump more and they'll both come out.
The 1377c and PC77 are the same Crosman Gun. The 1377c has brown grips while the PC77 is solid black. I have 2 black ones and I added the 1399 shoulder stock and they became carbines!

I get 20 Twenty pumps with great penetration and I have had and still use for more than 15 years .
my is a older model and i love it
Rick, would love to hear what your mainstay airguns are that you own. The ones you'll always keep and never sell or trade.
Actually my 1377 when it was stock of shot faster with 11 pumps than 10 with my red chrony. But I do not advise it even though it will not hurt it.
Keep practicing and you just might have to try some different pellets.

I still have the older model before the Implemented the bolt, its more of just a moving cover, Its still great though

Always fun to necro a video. Not sure if I will get an answer but my question is,

Hey there. You have to cock it to pump it. You can leave it open and then load it after if you like.

doing a good job & like this
Any way to make the pumping quieter? Hard to be discreet with that noisy pumping going on. May get a trail NP due to it being quieter.

118 here in Vegas
Are those 10yd groups standing unsupported???
This is a very nice pistol. I would really like to have 22 caliber version of this its the1322.
Arizona temps always hover around 120 deg during summer. Not my first choice to live in.
Nice Review! Thanks Much & Stay Cool! :-)
I was using 4.5 bb pellets for a year
Supported or freehand shooting?
1377 way better and way powerful even after 7 pumps.

This is actually pretty powerful unlike he said, it’s great for birds and rodents.
Tree rats gone at 25 yards no problemo. Scoped.
With rws superdome 8.3 gr. 7/8" group at 30 yards. Very flat flight. 1322 can not do that, too slow. Just my actual measurements, for my use.
Can this gun kill a squirrel. Cause while I'm on the deer stand these things get 15 feet away from me. some times I could grab then with my hand m

Damn squirrels ate all my sweet corn last year...they take a cob down, eat half of it, then start a new one , over and over again
i know they"re a pain in the ass man they chewed there way into my attic.
Nope, I was shooting from a bench. still managed to pull 1 shot in each group..

I have a 1377 but when I pump it it doesn't hold air in so it will barely shoot is there something I can do
Probably needs some oil
It's a great gun to take down a sasquatch 😃👍
Is barrel rifled or smooth bore?
rifled

Open the bolt on gun look for small Allen screw holding bolt/barrel assembly to main body, tighten that screw. pellets will load smoother also.
Order a steel breech from crosman I had the same issue

I'm sorry, but maybe people should know that this Crosman 1377 is extremely difficult to pump!
