I was just cleaning out the attic of an old house I bought and yo my surprise I found a rusty, USA made 1377. It held air and shot perfectly so I tore her down and reblued the metal, cleaned the internals and properly lubed the seals. What a fun gun to shoot and they are proven to last the test of time as mine did after being forgotten in a hot attic for who knows how many years. I used to have one of these many years ago and am certainly happy to get another. ...especially for free. Thanks for sharing your video and keep shooting.
Your review was enjoyable and you're obviously a great shot! New subscriber! 🥰 I'm on a mission to find mine at my parents house... I put an extended barrel and upgraded the trigger and sights. Thanks for the video. 🥰
Thats a good little air gun to take to the woodshed when your loading n g in fire 🔥 wood for the woodstove. Handy not to big and accurate enough to do something with it. Pretty slick for only 50bucks. Thanks for the review Doc Holiday. God Bless
I want one. There is something satisfying about pumping the gun and not relying on a CO2 cartridge. Sometimes I don't want to shoot 50-100 times at a particular moment. With my CO2 pistols, I never leave a CO2 in the pistol after I go shooting so I feel like I have to shoot a lot of times and use it up. Cons are the pumping and single fire but that is what makes it special. I can shoot my Crosman SNR .357 and Umarex Glock 19 Gen 3 in my house, garage and backyard but these other guns like the Crosman American Classic and the Crosman Vigilante sounds so much louder. Longer rifled barrels will do that. The noise from the pumping is quite loud too especially in a pretty quiet woodsy environment. I guess I could just stick with 3-5 pumps as they are quieter. This American Classic is so interesting though. The modding is something that I would do too. I did that with my Ruger 10/22.
That’s exactly what I was thinking when I was a kid lol. I mean you’re a kid, no money…don’t want to be put behind a barrier of limitation with co2 canisters, and just pump your own air, as weak as you want, and as strong as you want. @ 50$ you get one of the strongest air pistols and@ .177 you get cheap accurate ammo. Although a bit tedious with pumps just for one shot but that one shot is great. Definitely a hard hitting gun capable of taking birds or squirrels and the cheapest best way to get into airguns. Also how is the snr357 in terms of accuracy? Heard it’s all over the place but contemplating getting one purely for the novelty.
@@avylynn4523 I have the Crosman American Classic .177, Crosman SNR 357 and the Umarex Glock 19 Gen 3 (BB). I definitely like the American Classic the most of the 3 and I definitely use it the most. Super accurate! I put a stock on the American Classic and it greatly improved my accuracy. I also put a silencer on it and it is great in reducing the decibels and the high pitch. Added paracord to the stock to make it look cooler. Lot of customization mods with the American Classic which is a big pro. I also highly recommend put some stick on felt from the Velcro on the barrel where the pump hits to reduce the pumping sound hits. I do like the Crosman SNR 357 and it is pretty accurate with the pellets but I definitely would stay within 50 feet range. The Umarex Glock 19 (BB) was really bad at 50 feet for me. All over. Pellets with more velocity is simply going to be more accurate than bb. I can't see myself buying any bb gun in the future after using the Crosman American Classic and the Crosman SNR 357 with the pellets. I have a bunch of guns (real and pellet/bb guns) and I have the most fun with the American Classic.
I sometimes use mine for killing critters I catch in Havahart box traps. I use 3-5 pumps indoors, 6-10 pumps in the backyard and 15 pumps on raccoons and oppossums. But that's just every now and then. 15 pumps all the time would shorten the life of the seals. I didn't like the loud clacking noise it made when I pumped it so I put a piece of the wooly side of peel and stick Velcro on the underside of the tube where the pumping handle hits the tube. That made pumping a lot quieter. I use old books for testing medium. They are very consistent having no knots or random hard and soft wood. I can count the pages of penetration of various pellets at different pump levels. Heavy pellets don't always penetrate deeper. There is a sweet spot for each gun. A certain weight and pellet that does best. Thanks for the video. I
I have a 30 year old 1377, not much difference in FPS between 6-10 pumps. I get good groupings at 10yds with 6 pumps using 7 gr pellets, the 10 gr pellets are good for pest control.
Woodpeckers are valuable little critters. Use 3 pumps so you don't kill them aim for the wing so you don't get penetration.... they'll get the idea quickly they're not wanted... I use the same on squirrels to great effect. They now never dare come by the bird feeder. Also, if you've got woodpeckers feeding on your siding, you very well may have an infestation problem of some kind. The woodpeckers may be doing you a favor
If you were firing RWS Hobby pellets through this pistol it would probably reach 600 fps as they are quite a light pellet (7 grain). It seems like great value and I remember seeing these in "Air Gunner" magazine in the late 1980s.
Nice work and well done. I wish they had quality aftermarket sights for the thing... I find Zeroing difficult. Plastic compresses over time and throws off accuracy over time (or, I've lost my edge lol)
Just one question with all my sincerity and without any second intentions don't you get tired after pumping the pistol like eight times? if you shot like 30 shots it's like 240 pumps?
One of these airgun makers has a buttstock that go's on the back of the pistol. I've often thought about getting one for deer season when the squirrel's start barking at us when I'm jacked up a tree. Have you tryed the PBA pellets in it ? Thx for the vid.
VA, Ken in Ohio here with a question to who ever cares to respond. I just got one of these from my cousin. He's only shot it a few times so it's new. Thing is, and I'm fairly strong for a big 62 year old, it aint that easy to pump, especially after 5 pumps. do you have the same trouble?
Smooth barrels??? Never heard of any recent 1322 or 1377 without rifled barrels. Like to know where you bought one with a smooth barrel; confirmation please🤷♂️

I just got one (about 150€) and I'm not very impressed with the accuracy. I shoot resting and the grouping is kinda bad. I know it can't only be me because my Diana LP8 shoots way more accurate with iron sights as well. Reading up online, with all the great reviews, it just seems as if I have gotten a bad model... anything I can do to fix that?
@@vameathunter2771 After a lot of shooting today... Maybe it broke in, maybe I screwed the sights tighter or maybe I just got better. Anyways, it seems very acceptable now, even if it's shooting too high at a few meters (can't adjust them any more).
