    Some of us are born introverts and even loners, and relationships drain us dry. I am quite content in my chosen solitude, and never feel lonely. The psychologist Bella DePaulo coined the term 'single at heart' to describe people who are happier single and savor their solitude. That doesn't mean we avoid all human contact, we are just much more picky about who we spend our time with, and for how long. Also, Bella DePaulo does a wonderful job of debunking the old belief that marriage makes us healthier and live longer. I can attest that a bad relationship will actually make you sick! Lastly, there have been countless recluses in history who rarely, if wever socialized who lived to a ripe old age.

    Wonderful. Thank you so much. Relationships are so critical in life. Your talk reminded me of this.
    Relationship with others is the environment in which true learning occurs. Your relationship with others is where you learn how to separate what you know from what you want or believe. It is the environment and the context in which true self-discovery becomes discerned and known. This is true for reasons that are both obvious and not so obvious. From a free book called "Relationships and Higher Purpose" from MV Summers

    I think we need to explore the impact of different types of relationships. Friends, Family and Neighbours all contribute differently to our well being. Relational nutrients we could call it.

    I like your ideas very much. I have so much respect for your story but please, you use the word "actually" to the point of distraction. My intention is not to be critical but to offer a suggestion: Please consider some synonyms

  • @devinnorsworthy4105

    Love is a close and powerful thing. Just so happens that most of that comes from other individuals, hence a relationship. But you only mentioned the word "relationships" constantly not realizing that relationships are not really even a beneficial thing. Because there can be people that want to be around you only to take from you to not benefit for you. So with your profession being more specific would not be considered malice, but a benefit with you explaining the things you want to convey. Thank you, but not all relationships are beneficial, so loving relationships would be more the proper title to export or to convey. 👍

      Therefore you were really kind of annoying to me. Just the know it all attitude doesn't get far until one can humbly get corrected.... # it's real life.

      Yeah we all know... you went to school now here we have a know it all who can't even convey themselves properly with a specific manner. I want to see you better yourself than stay in a position where you aren't excelling at where you are going... peace out n yeah conversation is the key to information.😃👍💪

    What if all my classmates think they're gods? They're arrogant, narcissists and can't think by themselves. They're like sheep. Are those my options for time long relationships? Hm. What a life I'm gonna have.

    • @alpunto2402
      @alpunto2402 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Are relationships "that" important? I mean, what if your social group is too small and all the people in it seem to be uncompatible with you, Or simply you don't understand their humor and expresions. Certainly we are social beings, but relationships aren't always healthy, in fact toxic relationships are common in my social circle. I think the consolidation of relationships mustn't be treated as someting everyone need to have, there are many variables.

      @@alpunto2402 Maybe what you are describing is just "other people" and not "friends"? Is anyone advocating for toxic relationships?

    • @sarahszekeresh6061

      One of the best parts of NOT being in high school is that your social strata is way broader. If you aren't finding quality friendships in your high school, look elsewhere. If college is an option, it's much easier there. And given the choice of being 17 again? Hard pass. It's so much better on the other side of young inflated egos (your classmates) and the pretense of thinking no one else feels the way you do (you). Look forward to 30!
