Getting Started With Using Charles Proxy For Testing Tutorial

Here is a tutorial for using Charles Proxy for testing including installing Charles, installing the root certificate, editing responses, using breakpoints and throttling.
This video is for people who are brand new to Charles and are just getting started.
Note: I was using a Mac for this video.

I’ve been using this tool on and off for 8 years and have found it very useful.
It’s also really useful for seeing network traffic on your mobile device if you’re doing mobile testing

Hi All, I am facing one issue in charles proxy. when i allow ssl proxy to see the content in plain text for a request. then the website on which i applied ssl proxy it shows your connection is not private. i added trust certificate also. can anyone help me with this ?

Thanks for the video. Would you make a video using a mobile phone with charles proxy? That is something I have tried doing but I just could not set up the proxy connection.

Yeah, I'm thinking of creating one using an iPhone. (Don't have an Android device at home, but I imagine the setup is fairly similar)
Just wanted to see how this one went down first.

Can i automate charles to do a request with the data from a previus response quicly? like postman does?

Hey Nicola, I'm having trouble setting up the proxy on my phone as when I enter the local ip 4 address (which I also confirmed in my ipconfig). When I try to Safari, the wifi internet I proxy into will just cut off. Any thoughts on how to resolve?

I haven't come across that issue before, but I'm looking into creating a video for using Charle Proxy with an iPhone and inspecting traffic. (hopefully in making the video, it will jog my memory a to which extra step, if any, is needed)
