Leila, Microsoft should be paying you millions of dollars. You are always so on top of this stuff, and the way you present it, it's just instantly useful. You've single-handedly saved hundreds of hours of tedium in my office just because of one class of yours I took on Udemy.

Thank you Leila. You're truly a Godsent. I actually attended a class on RPA to learn this but those tools cost quite a pretty penny and most require some form of subscription. With power automate, it'll just be a one time investment of a sufficiently powerful computer. Based on what I've seen you do, it seems almost similar though this seems more intuitive. I was actually talking to my boss a couple of days ago about web scraping and how we could possibly use power query to do it but you just brought this up to the next level! Thanks again for this video.
Really impressive toolkit! After the possibility of catching any video or audio if you watch or hear it, and macros in the internet browsers, which do the same, but only for html, finally comes the next level of automatisation. Interactive and efficient!
Really good tutorial! Exactly what i was looking for as the first step on my Power Automate learning The next step i would like to do is Automating a "Learning Plan by User" which is: - a Complete List of Videos (This Web Scraping step) - Trigger Video List update (eventually new videos might come up) - What is the last video i watched - What is the next video to watch

That’s really interesting. Only a few months ago did I need to scrape content from multiple web pages, but I soon realised that Power Query’s limitations were an obstacle. That led me to go down the Python route, but Power Automate looks like another option. Thanks!
Honestly, for scrapping I would stick to Python. However, I will be using this at work since I'm the only person that uses Python in my division. Power Automate is a new one for me, and it seems it can be used by anyone.
You can try doing it with Power Bi Desktop, there you will make a Query than can scrap multiple pages, I will leave you the link from a video that I found th-cam.com/video/VkDpwSGWPmk/w-d-xo.html, is only 8 minutes long, is just a different option

I am using this but it's very specific and sensitive. When you use Web scraping on BeX Windows the steps are not always easy to work with. The slight shift in the layout of the webpage the whole automation get thrown off
I do web scraping as job. I know why exactly these tools still dont work best for everyone 1. Gets Harder the complicated the website structure gets 2. Requires above average technical knowledge, not for everyone 3. Requires constant investigation. Even if you get it working a few times in some examples, it fails at others 4. Will not tackle website blockage, anti blocking mechanism, captcha solving etc. 5. No data validation So, This stuff is still extremely hard .. but useful for very simple automations This thing is, like saying that apple is trying to replicate DSLR features and power in its iphone, but sure it will let everyone scrape simple data now, it will increase burden on web traffic and websites though

Today my boss gives me a task: I need to scrape all notebooks from different sites with specific processor series (inc. Brand name, processor and the link). I done this manually in two hours (total close to 900 rows), but I think with that I can do this task much faster. Also love your channel, I found here a lot of useful information about Excel.
Great video, Leila! A suggested video I'd like to see is the possibility of using a list of data in excel to file out a form per entry from excel. Is this possible with power automate? Thanks
Your videos help people alot. Even I power automate earlier and it's simple amazing. Better than many paid version RPA tools in the market. I simply love it.
Thank you for this clear and well documented presentation! Can you drill down each of the links on the page (the ones you've collected in XLS) and collect information on the linked page (author of the training video, date, ...) and recursively do this for all 285 ish pages ?
So cool! Thank you, Leila! It worked perfectly. The only issue I encountered - after having made some adaptations and running the flow - was that the web page did not respond any more. Is it possible that some sites block attempts of being scraped? I tried it before with PowerBI Desktop and wanted to add table columns with examples - but I could not see the preview of the web site at all.
I've also had this problem with a few websites using not just Power Automate but any macro or webscraping tool. I run into the problem mostly with websites that allow you to download a very large number of records but with the constraint you can only download them in chunks of records at a time. For example, 250,000 record in chunks of 250 records a time. After you've downloaded each chunk of 250 records, you have to reenter initial criteria to get the next 250. So you'd need to do this 1,000 times to get all the data. I can usually webscrape the first 250 ok with a tool like Power Automate (which helps somewhat), but whichever app or macro I use, it freezes after the first loop and cannot do the 2nd or subsequent scrape of the next 250. It may very well be, as you suggest, some type of block.

I did not know it comes with Windows 11, I am running Win 11 guess I didn't notice (Big Thumbs Up to MSFT for changing a paid service to a builtin one) 2. It is POWERFUL! Like the video says you do not need to know how to code or anything to setup a Flow. The more complex you want it to be the more you need to know, sort of, but you can also grab Template Flows from MSFT and other users. Also, to make creating Flows really easy Power Automate comes with a record feature, so making a Flow is as easy as clicking Record and then performing the task yourself.
