  • Doctor Who actress Alex Kingston (River Song) is slamming cancel culture in a new interview, saying that her generation has to walk on eggshells over stuff like pronoun usage (which he says is confusing) and it's stupid. When asked about the new series of Doctor Who... she's not even watching it. I mean, WHO is? The ratings are terrible.

@@Erikjust At this point, with streaming, and the possible incoming explosion of indie studios, a smart actor would be all over talking about this stuff. As long as they aren't too dumb to understand that the corporate shill media, who will attack them, doesn't matter anymore, and speaking out will gain you way more clout with the audiences. The MSM can't possibly control themselves, and refrain from attacking them with a colluded narrative across the umbrella of corporate propaganda media if they step off the plantation, which gives them free publicity for months.
2024 has really hit the wall with all this DEI/ESG stuff to the point that normies are actually finally fed up enough to NOTICE it due to how shitty the writing is, with so much forced progressive preaching. A lot of which is so absurd, and illogical, it is literally a foreign language to 95% of the audience with their made up words, parasitic ideologies trying to twist, and steal from more popular ideologies. Then manipulate the language to twist it into a Dialectic, the art of B.S. The Acolyte is so bad at virtue signalling, that even the progressives are mad at its ham-fisted, try hard usage of their insane subjective reality.
Every piece of media in this era of "modern audiences" from Hollywood is cast from top to bottom with unqualified, untrained, checkboxes of victimhood activists hired to to tell stories that are their own fan-fic "revenge fantasies." Activism is always a "revenge fantasy" in modern day. "Equity" means that you need to tell a story of oppression, and you must create scenarios where the "oppressors" are called the bigots, but in reality it is the revenge fantasy of bigots against concocted false history THEY made up just to be a victim.

The problem is that we constantly hear "It's not Cancel Culture, it's Consequence Culture, we're just holding you accountable for your terrible behaviour!" over benign things, and yet *_their_* actually terrible behaviour is never punished.
You can make an risque joke at a private party and these lunatics will do everything they can to get you fired, stop you from getting another job, turn your family against you and just make you trying to live your life downright impossible - however, when they actively harass strangers on the internet for having a different opinion on something and put those folks' personal details out on the internet where anybody can find their homes and do anything they can think of to those individuals, we hear nothing about how they were punished for it.

Yeah, I have a feeling actors would be far more popular if they stayed far away from social media.
I actually blame Bono for this, he was one of the pioneers of "I am famous so I understand politics far better then you mortals".
This is like going to an archaeologist for medical advice or a kinder garden teacher for economical advice, some time even a clock who stopped shows the right time but usually it is wrong.
The showering thing might actually be something they know though, personal grooming can be part of being an actor...
Telling you what to watch is part of their job if it is something they are in, but that is marketing, not advice. If they start telling you to watch things they are not in themselves, that is not something they should do even if saying they liked something on social media is acceptable. Saying "I liked this" and "You must watch this" are not the same thing.
Politics, science and other things like that is far out of their expertise.

Because that's the closest they'll ever get to a real relationship. I came to that epiphany when I started dating seriously at 21, and realized the reason why my ex friends couldn't find guys is because they didn't have the emotional and mental maturity. I grew up and we drifted apart. They're in their late 30s now, still act exactly the same as they did in high school, still blame others for being single, and lately going as far as saying "I'm part of the 4B movement". What they're really saying is "I don't want to work on myself, so I'll just give up on finding anyone, and pretend I'm happy and empowered. "

This lady went to my boss on social media and tried to get me fired because she deduced I was somehow "red," which was problematic. I've never been targeted before, and my boss's response was to delete her comments and block her from all their SM platforms because he knows I'm one of his best employees. We had a good laugh about it, and I honestly feel sorry for that person because she clearly needs help.

He didn't come across as a hardcore Trump supporter, but he and his youngest (tom girl) daughter were both conservative, American patriots. The wife and other two daughters were liberals (eldest daughter married a soy boy that was nearly too woke to function), but in the end, the show was about a family that loved and supported each other in spite of political differences. Like with the reboot of Roseanne, ABC cancelled the series. However, it got picked-up by FOX to finish out its run, whereas Roseanne was retooled into The Conners and returned to ABC.
