They spent like 1.5 billion on all these star wars shows and they lost subscribers…thats not counting the 11 billion they spent making disney + and the bad marvel shows… This is embarrassing…
Disney spent over 180 million dollars on The Acolyte, which has the lowest RT audience score, and is the least watched Star Wars show. This company is running itself into the ground.
@@danielsdimension7828I mean when we take the movies and look at them at an individual basis, yea it looks bad. Dave Feloni doesn't have balls dude. He "revised" Leslie's script for episode 3 as much as I like reading the dictionary. Give me a break. His job is to shut his mouth and do what the women in the room say.

Bob Iger bought the franchises because it looks good on his portfolio. That's it. Disney was underperforming heavily under him so he got it indebted to acquire Fox, Marvel and Star Wars so it'd LOOK, purely from a numerical spreadsheet perspective, like Disney was growing. Problem is once you acquire them you have to actually GROW THEM. And now Bob has nothing left to phagocytize he's left wasting money on a failing business model. Not a fanboy but I did have hope in Filoni...but it is clear that he is onboard with "the message" and from here on out I will now refer to him as Dave Shillphoney.
The test audiences have consistently said that the quality is terrible and they still release it. It is hard to believe that they have any interest in creating quality content.
Oh man...they churn out so much garbage on a routine basis, so I kinda pushed that season to the back of my mind. Holy crap, Mando season 3 was apocalyptically bad
We need to stop with the idea that the next thing will be better. Lucasfilm is run by a bunch of inept leadership and are apparently unwilling to change.
Dave Filoni is not to blame for The Acolyte. He does not truly support KK or Headland. Imagine u in his situation. Filoni is doing what's best for him. Which is not getting involved with Lesilye's failed project. This was her project alone and I hope she gets her pink slip after this garbage mockery of Star Wars.
I agree about all their stuff being trash. I only disagree on one point really. I hear other content creators say the same thing when talking about Disney. They are never in panic mode after a failure. Why would anyone think that? They already know it’s going to fail. They know how the majority will respond and the backlash they will get. They do it anyways because it’s the content and agenda they want to produce. They will get some financial gains from the EDI groups like BlackRock to help cover some of their loses. I believe they think eventually they will start to win people over again through some sort of magic. However, they aren’t panicking or scrambling for cover. They know what’s coming before they release the next new piece of garbage.
Only thing he's worried about is the money he thought he was going to make but didn't. As for calling this monstrosity of a series star wars... star wars died when George sold it to disney , everyone knows this
just make a new star wars show where suddenly.. thanos somehow.. enters the star wars universe and snaps the current canon out of existence. Honestly wouldnt be suprised a star wars writer is taking notes of my comment but, instead of Thanos we get a strong female lead to do the job.
Dave Filoni WORRIES About The Future Of Star Wars After The Acolyte DISASTER ??? He should have been worried about the future of Star Wars after Season 3 of"The Mandalorian" ! Oh wait, that was made by himself, wasn't it ?
@@danielsdimension7828 I'm sure it got buried under the weight of all the other Disney news the past few days. But again, props! You've put more work into finding source material for this video than they did checking the source material before writing The Acolyte haha
I think we have to be careful to immediately ignore Dave's accomplishments in light of the Acolyte. I'm curious to know what involvement Dave had beyond that he just signed off on it. It's easy for us to say that he shouldn't have, but would it have made a difference? Would it have caused him unnecessary grief considering his superiors are following an agenda and don't really care whether something is good or bad? Think about the test groups, the early watchers, the prior feedback on projects. Yet Disney changed nothing, and went ahead and made another Star Wars show without applying input from fans. Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau are the only people who (imo) have actually put quality Star Wars content out lately, and it's clear that Jon in particular told Disney to stop interfering with his creative vision, and we got an awesome Mandalorian season 2 because of that. “Disney has made a bunch of bad movies, a bunch of bad movies-“ I’m gonna stop you there chief… Disney hasn’t made a Star Wars movie in years, and most of the shows that’s been out are either good, or mid. There were only 2 bad shows, and so far… Acolyte’s becoming another bad show. I’d say he’s just as bad as Lucas because like with Lucas, he started making good shit, but with the recent dumb decisions he’s been making, he’s becoming what Lucas was in the Prequel Era. Becoming an ambitious guy, while also making the dumb decisions. No wonder why he was Lucas’ apprentice/padawan. I guess you can say… its poetry, so it rhymes.
If Filoni doesn't go along with Lucasfilm's feminist agenda, he'll simply be fired. Whether he supports it or not. I think he's just doing what he needs to do to keep his job.
They will either have to start making much lower budget content or drop it completely for somebody more competent to pick up the franchise in the future.
The thing about Dave Filoni is that his stories and ideas work for a cartoon show, but when you do live action, the stakes are higher. Things that you can get away from cartoons, you can't for live action
They didn't even work for animation. TCW is wildly overrated IMO and steals all of its best ideas, storylines and characters from the EU Clone Wars material, and does them more poorly than the original, superior material. Also, TCW is a terrible at bridging the gap between the Prequels and introduces many new contradictions, (like Anakin being a completely different character from the Prequels and having Dave Filoni's fan-fiction OC as his apprentice).
Dave is middle management. He can only limit the craziness, but he cannot change the course. Rebels, Bad Batch, Mandalorian, and Ashoka were good. Kennedy needs to be replaced with Favero.
