Some things I want to adress real quick: The lighting is not the same as the original since I have plans to make the second exterior set at Dusk like the original so that it seems like some time has passed between you fighting your way through the interior and exiting. The bottom area of the skybox will be improved, I just made something real quick so that it wasn't just all water. Intro cutscene will be added at a later date, requires more work then I anticipated And finally, this first preview is just me importing all the base Halo CE scripts and encounters. Once I'm done with those I'll be reintroducing cut content, encounters and even the cut wild life that was on the mission originally. :) For now birds in the sky, fish in the rivers and butterflies around trees is all the wild life the level has.
It looks a little more Halo CE like, very close to original CE art style cause it's Halo 3 duh but it looks just as dated if not more than HALO CEA with Reach's art style

It’s more of a remake when it’s like this. A remaster is just a change in graphics, and sound design, etc. It looks updated but exactly the same. Since anniversary came out after Halo 3 did, Using 3’s mechanic would be a remake. But I agree with you, this is fairly good!

I was biting my lip for the entire first 8 minutes waiting to see how you went about recreating the underground section of this level and I have to say, you did a fantastic job. The original art design, mood and atmosphere was recreated here as faithfully as humanly possible and I love that. Wish there was some way the original soundtrack could be used.
It makes CE fit much more thematically with 2 and 3 this way it’s great. The only thing I’d like to see added is the marines being more CE like and not just the Halo 3 models
@@AndyTolly123 If I had more free time and the knowhow, I'd port over blood gulch off of Halo 2 and texture it using Standoff's textures and try to match the lighting to be like Standoff or High Ground. I always wish that map actually crossed over into Halo 3
@@GloomToon idk i think H4 has better looking graphics than H3 the only thing wrong with H4 is it had to be toned down for the 360 so mostly if not all its textures were compressed and they used abunch of bloom all over to hide stuff reach is a different story if you can get rid of film grain somehow its already like 3x better lol but the gloomy atomsphere of reach can be changed thats what moddings for.
@@Helix142 Reach and 4 are the exact same, just with different lighting/shaders. Which, while not a bad shader system, Halo 3's shaders were notably way ahead of their time and more advanced than future games after it

I love it! Pains me that the Halo 3 elites weren't properly designed to be "enemies" and thus their animations/AI are somewhat unsophisticated, but to see them back at the helm of Covenant squads fills me with joy.
It be better for them to just stay as CE elites with Halo 3 elite skins. Same way the real CE Anniversary kept CE elites but slapped a sorta reach skin on them
Alpha Halo with Halo 3 textures and lighting is beautiful. So much better than the HCA version with the piss yellow filter to make it look like it's dusk. Are you going to update the Elites animations and stuff? They seem to be a lot easier in this since the Halo 3 Elites function differently than the HCE Elites.
Way too good. You are doing the work that 343i or any other developer is supposed to do. Halo 1, 2, 3, ODST, and Reach NEEDS a remake in Unreal engine 5 with all the levels extended and reimagined. This franchise needs love. I'm glad that you are doing an outstanding job for the community Kashiiera.
great work as always! this looks beautiful. a bit of a sidenote: i kind of hate how most comments here are using your mod to dunk on CE:A. it's taking away the attention from your work and downplaying how much effort this must have taken. instead of appreciating this piece of art, people are using it to shit on something else and it's so toxic to do that. your mods are coming along great and I'm looking forward to The Silent Cartographer in H3 engine too, keep it up :)
so cool its like im watching a 20th anniversary of Halo CE that i had wanted if Infinite came out perfectly in 2020 and 343i was like o we're just getting started what a dream land. absolutely amazing visuals and restructure work and dedication thank you ❤❤
Thanks for making this mod, as a huge halo fan it means alot being able to smoothly go into ce from reach or from ce into 2 with ce feeling so dated, especially with the vehicle physics and seeing how it operates in halo 3's engine is incredible. I think you are blowing this out of the part and I think this is much better then CEA! Keep up the good work!!
This is some amazing work. It takes a lot of skill to make geometry from a game made in the late 90s and released in 2001 look like geometry from a current gen game.
man, Halo 3 had the best textures for forerunner architecture. This is really cool to see. I would love to someday play all 3 Halo games with a single consistent art style.
This mod looks awesome! Can't wait to play the full release! You should look into adding the Halo Wars Elites currently on the workshop; Not a perfect remaster of CE's Elites, but they're definitely really close, and with some color grading I think could help make your mod's Covenant look much more fitting.
That little bit of music glue cue after the underground battle comes to a close was really surprising being essentially a new addition. I hadn’t noticed the major differences in the music until that point. And super cool choice at that 😎 best halo motif
C'mon i NEED that helmet/lens flare when you look at the sun! The reflections inside were nice tho :) The real improvement Combat Evolved gameplay needs is more coordinated AI. The way AI enter the fight is mostly good. Drop ships, grav lifts, invisible ambush, and that flood introduction is a masterpiece 👌

This is so good! Literally cannot wait to play this! My only issue is I feel like the elites and grunts should be remade from their original ce style instead of halo 3s style. Other than that minor nitpick this mod is on the top of my list for mods I HAVE TO PLAY! Phenomenal job! I’ve loved watching the progress of this mod being built!
@Kashiiera The Master Chief's energy shield is still charging the wrong way! It loads left to right, but it should load right to left! Please fix that :) This looks very wrong and strange when the health bars and energy shield charge up the wrong way. The loading process is mirrored The design of the energy shield and health bar is correct, but the loading process is mirrored! :) But the level/map still it looks amazing good job, i like it :) Does the map also work with the German language pack?
I may not have plans on downloading MCC mods until AFTER I unlock all the items in the season pass that I missed. But when I do, This will be the first mod I download.

The remasters of Halo 1 and 2 should have been done with Halo 3. That was the perfect game engine!
