Kurt I’m not laughing at you but laughing with you because I have that in my been there done that file. After 40 years trucking I can still amaze myself how well I can screw something up even without the normal craziness that goes along with trucking. Glad to see Opies doing good. Another great video Sir Take care and we’ll see ya when we see ya.
man i knew i liked you for a reason. as a dude who worked as a custodian for 7 years it was great seeing you clean up after yourself when cleaning your hands in the sink. not alot of people have common decent for the next man coming in. usually people say hey someones paid to do this for me. bravo sir!
Kurt , That sucks the parking lot for the empty trailers is full of mud like that. You handled that situation a lot better than I would have. Seems like the owners would fix that dang mud mess. Like you said , Moosha
When you pulled over at the Memorial rest area, it made me think of "The Wall"... Have you ever seen it Kurt ? It's incredible. It really takes a long time for the reality to sink in when you first see it, even from a distance, but it really puts things into perspective when you see how many names are on each panel, and how many panels there are. We found my Mom's cousins name. He was drafted right after High School graduation. He was a door gunner on a copter. He only made it two weeks. They were rescuing soldiers that were under heavy fire, and were told not to go back, but like most Marines, they did. They built a memorial for him at his High School. It was cool at the memorial because they had pieces of paper and pencils so people can trace the names of family members and friends that are on the wall.
Me and my wife would like to thank you for 8 years Of pure greatness. We really enjoy your journey in trucking. And just glad to be along for the ride.🤗🤗
Kurt, you gotta make sure that all of your crooks and nannies are spotless. I enjoyed the video. Don’t feel badly about letting off steam; happens to the best of us.
Yeah graveshift is the best shift for trucking... less hassle... less traffic... less regulation... be glad you are good at it... I have worked graves from time to time and I like it... but eventually I just get tired and need a long nights rest. As for your lines... it happens... you get tired and forget about it... it's a simple repair so no biggie :)
I literally threw my plug out of rage a couple weeks back. I appreciate seeing that side of you because 99.9 percent of the time your videos are very calming.
We don’t blame you for being upset. Glad to see Opie back out with you, he keeps you somewhat sane… The days run together for me, so words escape me. 🥺😞🦮🐕🦺
Good news... it was 40 plus degrees... not raining... not windy... no one near you bugging you...🎉... next week snow cold... blizzard will happen... you good.❤
Opie doesn't get bothered by the truck movement - sound asleep. I drove a lot at night too but had no room for a dog. That would have been great. Was back in the 70's.
I drove an 18 wheeler for a parts company delivering to customers in Virginia and North Carolina. I did that for 18 years. I would start around 8:00 pm and get back to the warehouse between 8 and 9 AM the next morning. I really enjoyed working at night. No traffic and easy to get into the stores. Be safe.
Good to see you and Opie together again. Also good to see you are human like the rest of us. If life was perfect it would be boring. Great comeback on getting the truck fixed. Proud of ya man. Keep the good work and your head up, keep on trucking. Stay safe out there, we enjoy watching ya..
I watched Chad Keegan set his needle nose pliers on his tire. The tire guy was able to pull it out and did patch the tire. Not a good day for him either.
You started talking about the roller blades and all I could see in my mind was a hospital bed with an old truck driver with messed up hips and casts on his leg hanging from an overhead bar, with at least one broken arm in a cast. Not a good look! Stay safe and stay off the roller blades!
Good job Kurt. That truck and brother crap like that happens sometimes. When you’re tired and you’re thinking of other things it’s easy to forget stuff sometimes. Be safe out there. Awesome video.👍👍👍
Yes Mr kurt. That makes for a long frustrating night of trucking. but respect for you for not surgar coating the bad day's that do happen out here . Roll easy roll safe sir 🇺🇲
Yeah we have all done it once or twice in our career, that is pulling out from under trailer without removing air lines.luckily didn't break or stretch them out.an oh,s**t moment.
"Serenity now... Serenity now"😆 Been there done that, soon as something breaks the routine, stuff like that happens👍. Hang in there. Good to see Opie back.
I know it sucks having days like that because it takes time and puts you behind schedule. I know because I had a stressful day trucking today also but what I try to remind myself AFTER I HAVE CALMED DOWN. 😂 Is maybe that’s Gods way of keeping me out of a bad wreck that I may have found myself in if it hadn’t have taken all that extra time. Tomorrow will be better buddy.
We did that shift every spring trucking up in northern Ab hauling oil to get into the bush on the frost because the roads were so bad it just how we rolled made a lot of money back In the day
Oh if you put the green wire down in the middle then put the blue one to the right and red to the left then go red over green blue over green you can braid the lines
SCHIMDT. Sit down with your inlaws and parents on some of their hard days when they were young. I have had a few ⛈️🌩️⚡🌪️🌀 in my life time. That's the reasons that we enjoy those 🏖️🌞☀️ days when ever they happen. Give thanks you're not living on the west coast 💧🌧️⛈️☁️🌦️. SAFE Travels SCHIMDT 🐕🦺 🚛💨💨💨💨
Glad the Opie boss is back.... Oh Geez temper tantrum & hot flashes...Oh boy , Midol helps females 😉😜 I wonder if that UPS truck had my package... 😂 🙏✌️❤️ to all the family & critters. Ogden IA Pam
Well least you got that day out the way. The day that happens to all of us not so often. I'd replace that rod on the back holding the lines, if you don't everyone who has ocd will continue to remind you, and talk about how it bothers them lol. Hope you have a bunch of smooth days ahead.
Atleast you didn’t drop your trailer on your truck. I did that last week guess that’s what you get when you let others hook up for you so know I make sure to double check that I’m hooked up. 😂
Kurt; you have to pick up some “grip clean” wipes. Walmart has them They take grease off better than anything ever ever used You’ll thank me later! Ps, we all have “those days” Hang in there!
When my kids were babies, I worked 7pm to 7am then stayed up all day with them, while my wife went to work, slept from 4pm-6pm, back to work at 7pm, did that for years!
I feel for ya pullin your lines off. In 40 years I only did it one time. The sound of a stretched out air line smacking the back of my sleeper was an instant reminder of what I forgot. Fortunately I didn't forget it again after that little incident... Drivers should not have to drive through slop to drop off or pick up their trailer. There's no excuse for it. I had a couple places that I used to deliver to that were like the one you were at, and I honestly think one of them was worse. Both were certainly multi billion dollar corporations. One was at a distribution center for one of the largest grocery chains in the U.S, and another was a food processing conglomerate. The same big company that supplies all of McDonalds french fries. Ironic how they both deal in food.
Thanks for the video Kurt, I thought i was the only one who cleaned up the sink area at the rest area or truck stop after i use it.i agree that they could spend a few dollars to put down some crush and run gravel or 3/4 inch gravel so that truckers aren't tracking mud all over the road.well until the next one be careful and stay safe out there on the highway 🛣 👍.
Yesterday, I spent about a half hour trying to latch the trailer doors til I realized I was on an incline. Pulled up a little to level ground, doors latched very easily. UGH! 🤬Ever want to kick your own ass?
Hi Kurt. I guarantee you the county roads don`t have any bottom to them. My blue truck is now brown. Got stuck on a lease, waited 5 hours to get a LARGE 4 wheel drive John Deere to pull me out. Always fun in the winter when the thaw starts.
O-H-I-O Porter greetings 🇺🇸 I’ve never encountered any of those cables that had been pressed on like that. Hmmm…Chinese Special?! That’s another item you always have an extra of, right? Did it feel good to have your sidekick with you again? That kind of stuff happens from time to time & it usually happens at the most inopportune moment. That’s when we lose our temper. At least you weren’t too far from a truck stop, I hope. I dropped a trailer once…pulled air lines & cable apart. Not one of my best memories, that’s for sure! But I sure learned some lessons from that experience. You mentioned that the load wasn’t ready. Did you have to light a fire under someone’s nose to get it done or was it ready when you got back to the trailer? Does your company pay you a retention fee if you have to wait so many hours? Cover that sometime. There are several things truckers have to deal with that you talk about from time to time & this is one of them. Blessings my friend. 🥰❄️✌️
Kurt how many of the mega carriers are doing what you do, ta me it's ridiculous they're greedy I'm surprised there not into fuel tankers although that would take someone smarter than a steering wheel holder just like the one who cut ya short. Chit happens Kurt it's just a light cord 7way, it wasn't a dropped trailer so you're doing great bud.🇺🇸👍
Kirt hey don't feel bad when shit happens it happens big time I a week like you having and it just wouldn't stop so I just gave up on it got that out of the way and started a knew week fresh so we all have a bad day or week but just think when you have a good day or week that means everything bad became positive so be patient and there's good things to some.
When I was a young squirt working grave shifts was easy. When driving long haul my favorite time to be driving was always late at night 'til daylight. Easy. Retired for quite a while now, it's a rare day when I'm up past 11 p.m. Many people I've known have had a very difficult time with grave shifts, understandable as us humans are not all built or wired the same. You seem to handle the various changes in hours well enough. When circumstances don't go the way expected, I don't pitch a fit anymore, might be I've aged out on that, maybe you will too. After all, it's a part of life and living. Take care, be well.
Well Kurt, if it'll make you feel better, I did the same thing years ago. Only it was -25 and I had to repair it as best I could, to make it back to the shop when I was in Alaska. Oh the joy, keep smiling and stay safe.
I have tried graveyard twice. I just don’t sleep much when it’s light out. I even put foil over the windows, no luck. You had one of those days. Not the first and not the last. We keep on keeping on. Havagudun and stay safe.
Opie seems to be walking better so good job with the treatment.
Kurt I’m not laughing at you but laughing with you because I have that in my been there done that file. Another great video Sir Take care and we’ll see ya when we see ya.
No worries Kurt. Its a truckin thing. A good percentage of us have done that in our careers. Good to see old Opie again.
man i knew i liked you for a reason. as a dude who worked as a custodian for 7 years it was great seeing you clean up after yourself when cleaning your hands in the sink. not alot of people have common decent for the next man coming in. usually people say hey someones paid to do this for me. bravo sir!
❤ Yay ❤️ “Trucking With Opie” has returned!
I worked Grave yard for 30 Years tuff then Retired , like this life better than anything ever done .
Opie Opie Opie....There he is😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Kurt, I wish I had your temperament and calmness. I would've lost my sh*t. Way to own it and keep on keeping on.
hey brother, 47 years out here and if shlt don't happen you aint trucking lol
Kurt , That sucks the parking lot for the empty trailers is full of mud like that. You handled that situation a lot better than I would have. Seems like the owners would fix that dang mud mess. Like you said , Moosha

I think you are an amazing man. I admire you for being such a family man
We all have bad days Kurt, good to see you lost your temper, it shows you’re normal like the rest of us! Great vlog 👍🇬🇧
I literally threw my plug out of rage a couple weeks back. I appreciate seeing that side of you because 99.9 percent of the time your videos are very calming.
Thank you for the great video🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉.
Hey Kurt, braiding is noothing more than right over center, left over center. Try it.
I used to love the graveyard shift, of course I'm a natural night owl
We don’t blame you for being upset. Glad to see Opie back out with you, he keeps you somewhat sane…
The days run together for me, so words escape me. 🥺😞🦮🐕🦺
Good news... it was 40 plus degrees... not raining... not windy... no one near you bugging you...🎉... next week snow cold... blizzard will happen... you good.❤
Schmidt you are so dang cool, and I'm glad I found your page.
Glad you two are a team again!
Yeah, it really sucks when things go sour. Even worse when we do it to ourselves.
You're only human we all make mistake. You're doing your best and doing it to give your family a better life
You are allowed once in a while, i won't say what. Stay safe my friend. God bless you. 🙏🙏🙏🇺🇲🇺🇲
Brother I know you were TWISTED after snapping those lines. Would love to see the “unedited “ version. lol 😝
We all have one of those days.
Opie doesn't get bothered by the truck movement - sound asleep. I drove a lot at night too but had no room for a dog. That would have been great. Was back in the 70's.
Cry baby Schmidt 😂😂😂😂😂 man love this show awesome

Grandpa always told us takes a good man to make a mistake but an even better man to fix it and keep rolling
Just glad to see you’re human, thank you for showing the good the bad and the ugly
Over. Fifty years ago. I worked 2 weeks graveyard 2 weeks. Swingshift. 1 week. Days shift. Then start over again. Regularly. Plywood mill. Back then
I saw you put the ripped off plug on top of the tire and thought "I hope he remembers to grab that before he drives off"
ME TOO !
Very funny 😂
Don’t feel like the loan stranger. We’ve all done that several times.
I'm here for the German. Oh, hey, Kurt....😏
Good job Kurt. That truck and brother crap like that happens sometimes. When you’re tired and you’re thinking of other things it’s easy to forget stuff sometimes. Be safe out there. Awesome video.👍👍👍

When the weathers good, put a socket on your frame with a double male plug, just in case :)
Makes me sad Opie is getting older 😢..But that's the cycle of Life for everyone including myself..Much love brother Kurt and Opie..Stay strong 💪
I know it sucks having days like that because it takes time and puts you behind schedule. I know because I had a stressful day trucking today also but what I try to remind myself AFTER I HAVE CALMED DOWN. 😂

I really enjoy your videos. I try to watch the commercials. Even the ones on ED. Times will get better. Life is great thank you.
That was a awesome video, it does remind me of myself when I was driving👍👍
Atleast you didn’t drop your trailer on your truck. I did that last week guess that’s what you get when you let others hook up for you so know I make sure to double check that I’m hooked up. 😂
Don't feel like the Lone Ranger , I've snapped an air line or 2 in My 20 plus Yrs. holdin a Steering Wheel !

we all've been there , fix and keep going forward
You tell Opie that people missed him, and he's like yawn, yeah, yeah, yeah.
I hauled beef lungs that were made into iv's .
Kurt, you just got a nod from the Duke himself.
Enjoyed your trip. Be safe.
Dude, kudos to you. I would have probably tossed a lot more. The weather patterns do not make life easy. Ps. Glad to see Opie. ❤
We used to have hogs when I was a kid the the pork lungs were referred to as the lights some people would eat them, but not me🤮😂
I love it when you got your dog with you
right over to center, left over to center, right over to center, left over to center braiding lol
Yesterday, I spent about a half hour trying to latch the trailer doors til I realized I was on an incline. Pulled up a little to level ground, doors latched very easily. UGH! 🤬Ever want to kick your own ass?
Hate when I forget to pull the hoses and cord off
The white wire looks like it has a bare spot. What a day
Looks like the lacquer on your hood is starting to come off
Yeah opie is back enjoyed the video awesome 👌.
Gotta love that dog 👍
Nice too see the team complete again, nice video Kurt.
How about when you unhook and forget you unhooked 😮😂😂

some of those older small towns, still have a church on main street, maybe a movie theater and a couple cafes, cool
Kurt how many of the mega carriers are doing what you do, ta me it's ridiculous they're greedy I'm surprised there not into fuel tankers although that would take someone smarter than a steering wheel holder just like the one who cut ya short. Graveyard's worse in the summer.

MOST TRK STOPS USED TO CARRIE THEM ON THE SHELF
Yeah hope your German is doing well
Well Kurt, if it'll make you feel better, I did the same thing years ago. Only it was -25 and I had to repair it as best I could, to make it back to the shop when I was in Alaska. Oh the joy, keep smiling and stay safe.
