My cousin and her boyfriend flew here to KZoo Michigan last year. When I picked them up Troy said they flew over the ocean. We laughed. So I asked if he had ever been to Lake Michigan he said no. So of course I had to take them to South Haven to dip a toe in the big lake.

Good job, Brandon! Since Kurt isn't familiar with Chicago, it was nice for him to be with someone who was. I grew up in Iowa, and the first time I came to Chicago on my own, which was long ago, it was by bus. We came in on Lake Shore Drive, and heading north, you get a head-on view of the skyline. It was stunning. I've lived here for 40 years now, and I don't go downtown for work anymore, but Chicago has some really nice views. I do miss Iowa, though.
I think if a subscriber made the effort to reach out, then the offer was most likely sincere. I call myself ‘pathologically self-reliant’ which means I don’t ask for help easily. But I came to understand that people like to give and help out when they can. If you ever got stuck in the Washington DC area (where I live) I’d reach out to you just because I like your channel (but you’d have to ride in a Honda! But at least it’s standard shift)
